Normally I do not write reviews on stores. But I have had enough of this store. I wish i would have taken photos. I walked in there today to just get pop and shampoo. I could barely get down the aisles because there have all of their stock on the floor and it is not put away. I am a tiny person and I barely fit down these aisles. Management and Higher up in the company need to get their stuff together. I will not be going to this store anymore until they get their store together. I will be going to Walmart at least there I can walk down an aisle.UPDATE: The stone has gotten better since the new manager took over. She is super nice. There are still a lot in the asides right now due to their remodel but it's getting better.

Okay, so the store itself is usually a little messy, which is totally understandable because they are short staffed.Today, I called to see if they had Theraflu because my mom and I are very sick. The woman on the phone not only found it, she went through all the different kinds with me over the phone, and brought it to the counter for my husband to pick up for me. That was outstanding, she was so nice and wished me well.

I live 20 minutes south of this store ( one way) and 3 different times i have forgotten a bag the staff noticed it but didn't alert me until i called them. Then they made me feel odd like i was gonna steal my own cat food. I absolutely refuse to go back here!shop at own risk!

This place has really gone downhill w/this new staff turnover. Just stood in line for 20 minutes because I was overcharged for an item and the cashier, who has worked there for months, acted like it was rocket science to do a cash refund. I finally just told her to forget about it because there were so many people waiting to check out. The store was trashed, also. Stuff laying everywhere in the aisles and people accidentally knocking things over because of the stock in disarray. Used to love going in here because I live close but pretty disappointed with the place lately.

Worst dollar general store or any store for that matter I've ever been in! Filthy unorganized bare shelves with carts of box's in the isles so you can't even walk down them! This place needs to have a complete overhaul of staff and building! Family dollar down the road will be getting my business from now on.

I love that you can get in and out quickly! they do have a large turnover rate. Getting to know your cashier is impossible been going for 5 years and I only know one worker.

Treated poorly by Danielle the night manager who refused to let me use my $5 coupon on the Saturday for which it was issued. I used my calculator while shopping to add my purchases in order to reach the $25 minimum required purchase amount. I gathered items that totaled $27 per the shelf prices. When I checked out I handed her my coupon in the middle of her ringing my items and she sat it on the counter in front of her. She then proceeded to ring up the sale without applying the coupon. The sale came $1.30 short of $25 so apparently some of my items rang up less than the shelf price. Exactly 100% of the time that this has happened over the past 5-7 years that I have been shopping DG stores on a Saturday with my coupon, the clerk has notified me that my order was less than $25 and then allowed me to add a pack of gum etc to reach the minimum and use my coupon. In 5-7 years I have NEVER been refused the opportunity to use my coupon. Danielle the night manager in Chesaning not only refused me the chance to bring up my purchase total, but she also blamed me for breaking the rules and said that I disqualified myself from using the coupon by swiping my card (as I do every Saturday as prompted on the screen) - she said these things AFTER she realized that SHE overlooked my coupon. I returned my items and drove to Montrose DG where they were happy to take my coupon and secure my continued business.Then when I later called to notify the store of the lousy customer service and lost sale, Danielle answered the phone and proceeded to argue her point about how she was right and I the customer was wrong.Night Manager Danielle - YAY! you WIN the standoff! - but you LOSE my business. I will not shop Chesaning DG again. Family Dollar will be my choice if I must shop while in Chesaning.DG is one of only two stores I frequent weekly. Luckily I have many locations to choose from and I have NEVER been treated poorly AT ALL by ANY employee or manager at any of the other Michigan Dollar Generals that I frequent.

Well stocked with various items from household cleaners to shampoo and food. Friendly staff for tge most part and i cant complain. The only thing is some of the items are far over priced but hey no one forces you to buy them. Overall an almost everyday shopping stop for me!

Employees seem nice, but the store is a little unorganized. I've also have bought a couple gallons of milk from here, take it home and find out its spoiled(within expiration date). Other than that is okay.

I have to say that everyone working at this store are so helpful and friendly. They go way above and beyond to help you. The manager, Dawn, is one of the best I have seen. She truly cares not only about employees, but, puts customers first. Great store to shop at.

Normally I go to st.Charles dollar general but I was in chesaning so I stopped although some of the workers are nice some are rude the store was dirty boxes sitting everywhere nothing being put on shelves and workers all in the office asked if there was any zip loc baggies none on the shelf but boxes sitting everywhere and she says I don’t know if the shelf’s empty then there some where not put away yet so I asked if she could look for me and she says I’m to busy right now to look sorry but yet there are 3 people working 2 in the office doing nothing that I could see and 1 running the register she was busy they are very lazy at this store if a customer needs something u look for it u don’t say you r to busy I will never come here to this dollar general again think I’ll stick to St.Charles dollar general there nice sweet and very clean store and they never tell u there to busy to help shelves r always stocked and things r put away and I had to give 1 star bc u have to pick at least 1.

This is an ambivalent five stars, but the folks who work there are nice and so this is for them. The corporation is a mushroom that feeds on the decay of rural retail commerce, being the only store in the constellation of nowhere points is both something for the locals and a wistful reminder of what might be there in a less gravitationally distorted economy.

Dirty, run poorly, un stocked shelves as everything has been in carts or bins in isles or walk ways , store needs a facelift and deep cleaning and perhaps someone to run it properly.

Went to check out and noticed that everything was higher price than what was labeled. the ladies were nice and fixed it . watch out guys check your receipt.

Convenient, priced as your typical DG...That being said, the absolute & utter chaos of this and other DG stores is appalling. Overstock clutters the aisles, large carts with more stock at the endcaps, and disaster on the shelves.Why is DG (with annual profits over $365.5 Million) so against hiring even ONE additional person to help assist with stocking so the cashiers (who are always lovely) are not stretched so thin?

High volume of ppl shop this store. Inventory move fast on some products, usually the seasonal items. Other then that it's a great chain store for this small town of Chesaning.

The Chessning manager on sat July 23rd was rude and has so sense of Customer Service. I won't ever shop there again.

I do 90% of my shopping at dollar general amd this one is by far the best one ive been too. Always have what i want and need and best customer service ive experienced in a long time!!

Montrose michigan dollar general, the employee (sam I am) is what her name tag said. Is very polite, very helpful, and very fun to look at. Shes a real sexy lady.

Store was a mess no orginization looks like shelves have never been straightened displays falling apart on the floor almost no item is where it is supoosed to be toys on the shelves with laundry soap food up and down every isle

It's a little more run down than some of the others, but the staff keep it clean and are always very friendly and helpful.
