I just cannot get over how RUDE the employees here are. I stood waiting at customer service while a lady behind the counter just stood there moving papers around. When she finally acknowledged me (after I said something to her), she was not helpful at all. I was there to speak with the manager, and when I asked for her the girl told me she was on lunch. She couldn't tell me when she would be returning from lunch. When I asked if she could help me she at first told me no. Then she huffed and asked what I needed. Finally, after being zero help, she went to talk to the manager. She came back out and tells me "you were wrong about the price. We can't help you"So I ask for a return (which is actually against the law. They clearly had the prices marked incorrectly), and she proceeds to process the return without saying a single word to me.She didn't say anything as I walked away, no "have a nice day" no "sorry we couldn't help you", nothing.I was not rude in any way, I never am. This woman has no right working in customer service. If I owned or managed this store and I saw an employee acting the way this lady did I would be completely embarrassed.

Only grocery store in town. Have to shop closely for sales. I'm not happy with the changes in the setup. I have lived in Chelsea all my life and think they need some compensation. Would love to see a dollar general or family dollar move in. At least I could also buy socks underwear and tee shirts.

Lots of variety here; clean and well stocked. Sometimes prices are low, sometimes not. Check their ad before visiting.Bakery ladies are kind and accommodating.

Best prices around. You wouldn't think so but it's a really great store. They do need to pay their staff better. $10.60 /hr is not good enough.

I have a consistently good experience shopping at this store. The cashiers and baggers are friendly and quick. The meat department is excellent and the gentleman at the meat counter went out of his way to help me.

Great shopping store. has all you need when getting food or snacks. They have lots of prime here also. I would give this place a 7.5 out of 10. Mainly because you can get food cheaper in other places. Also if you want complimentary mini shopping carts they have them :)

What a store...asking questions of patrons gets you more help than asking employees. Remember to go early and still don't expect them to have items in the ad...six weeks in a row and I can not find half the items on my list. When I asked an employee what to do, she stated shop early if they are going to have the item, supply chain issues even when the item is local, and lack of employees to restock the shelves as I was told today. I asked about employee if she could check on an item and she stayed she had to get the eggs in the cooler as she wanted to leave on time. Some area of the store is a "no price" zone, guess you have to guess what the items cost....please see pictures. Even aisle displays are piled high with products waiting for someone to get something and everything tumbles to the floor...please picture.

I'm not a fan of shopping, but if I must, I prefer going here. It's played out nice, produce and meat selections are very good, and the staff is always friendly.

I went at 815am, when I got to check out, the ONLY cashier told me "sorry, they're making me take my break".So I was told I HAD to use self check out. Struggled through that and then was told, sorry can't write a check in self check out after scanning all the items. I hope they had fun putting everything back. I walked away, and wont be back.

The in store map is virtually worthless. It needs to be alphabetized.Yesterday, Nov 6th, I hoped to get a 2lb bag of Monterey Jack cheese. There were 2 available, both Stamped "Best used by Oct 23, 2023." I also Ineeded to get eggs - the first 3 cartons had cracked eggs so I ended having to merge 2 cartons. But at least their best used by date wasn't 2 weeks ago!Mar 3rd: Out of bagged spinach, out of green onions, no pears - super tedious - might be worth going to Adrian instead of Chelsea

Just had a terrible experience. We've been shopping here for years, but the closing manager this evening was horrible to us. We had a cart full of items, but there were no lanes open, just the self check. We used that as we had no other choice. The bagging area was full, so we began moving our items to make room for the rest. We were berated for doing so, but we had nowhere to put our items. The manager yelled at another worker to get another cart and to "help" us bag our items in a very demeaning way, as if we were too inept to bag our items. She had us move items into a different cart. As we're finishing, she yells to other customers that lanes were open while looking at us. They were not open. We finish checking out, and the manager yells at us about how we moved our items and where we were placing them in the bagging area again. We're about to pay, and she accuses us of stealing and checks the machine to make sure all of our items were there. They were. Just a horrible experience. We have shopped here for years. We've put up with many negatives over that time like understocked items, understaffing, reorganizing, etc. I've even paid for other customers' items here. And to then treat loyal customers horribly and accuse them of stealing? It's no wonder customers end up going to other grocery establishments.

Service with a smile. I had been here once before, and this visit was no different. I was able to find what I needed, mostly Jiffy boxes in a greater variety than I get back home. They had some good deals on other items as well. And the clerk was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely shop here more often if it were in my neck of the woods.

I generally stop here for my quick trip items. Now updated with self-checkout, which has been very nice for those busy times. Friendly staff. I would love to see further updates inside the store. (Still feels like I’m walking into a grocery store in the 90’s… nostalgic-yes. I think I’m over it now though!)

Although the store sells Our Family Products that have a quality guarantee the store will not honor it. I purchased toilet paper and found it to be very poor quality. I did not have a receipt and was told they no longer offer store credit and therefore could not process the return. They further went on to dress me down for not liking the product as both the ladies behind the customer service counter said they "use it and it's fine, you get what you pay for". I left them the tissue and told them they could keep it for themselves. I will NEVER shop at a Polly's again. In a separate experience at this store I had a bag of chicken in my basket and realized after walking toward the checkout that it was leaking. The check out person handed me paper towels and expected me to clean the floor and told me that I should have put it in a bag. Once again, not taking responsibility for the situation and placing blame on the customer.

I drive a long way to go here for items I can't find in my local stores. So many shredded cheeses, great bakery, $1 aisle, large gluten free section, Gilbert 's chocolates, & brands I don't see elsewhere. Friendly, helpful staff.

I absolutely hate when I even start to ask about an exchange and the “customer service” (or the lack of) desk person cuts me straight off before I can get the entire question out. I don’t care if she already knows the answer, it’s just respectful to let a person finish. To be honest, this store is not cheaper for most of the items I buy but I try to support local whenever possible. If I’m going to get disrespected, at least I’ll make it worth it and save a little money in the process! Guess I’ll have to stock up a bit more at Costco or Walmart. So long Polly!

No issue with the store per se, but w/a cashier not respecting the time of customers standing in line.Today, 10th November 2022 was my first and last stop into Polly’s Country Market. After five minutes of easy shopping I was made to wait in line more than 11 minutes while the cashier who was not actively swiping groceries but instead she was having a personal conversation with a customer in front of me.Their discussion centered around job a opportunity the customer was presenting to the cashier, which is ironic. I presume that if the manager/owner of Polly’s and was aware of this activity they would run that cashier out of their store in a heartbeat. Good thing she seems to have other opportunities brewing.Being respectful of other peoples time is important for Everyone, especially in today’s hurried society. The complete and utter disregard the cashier showed for myself and her other customers was astounding, and maddening.

We just moved to Chelsea. I love Polly’s market, so close to home and has the freshest produce around at a reasonable price. Has everything I need to make a healthy meal.

My new favorite grocery. The staff is friendly and helpful, I really like the selection, and the prices are reasonable. They probably do need to be more careful with stocking. I noticed two items the last time I was there that were expired. Really that is the only thing holding me back from a 5th star, which I don't give out a lot.

I find most of what I need in groceries here on my way home. Prices though going up everywhere. The checkout people are the best and always put a smile on my face. Helpful staff and easy to find merchandise. Limited organic and health foods.

Polly's has a great selection of produce, meats, floral, beer/wine, soda, frozen, deli and fish. The produce, fruit and flowers are always fresh. There is also a bakery with fresh breads and cakes daily. Custom decorating is also available. I’ve ordered numerous cakes over the years and have never been disappointed. Prices are good and many times better than the big box stores. Watch for their semi regular special meat sales that discount on bulk meat buys, always a steal and good quality.

Polly's Country Market in Chelsea is exceptional. I can't believe that they are actually affiliated with the store in Jackson! Chelsea store is clean, has a little bit of everything, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. (They also have the best donuts 🍩 😋 in the morning!!!) One time it was closing time and I had just gotten out of the Emergency Room and needed some otc medicine. The cashier went the extra mile and quickly found us what we needed and then checked us out at the register. The only 2 negatives I would have to say, is that the lighting in most of the store is a little bit dim, and the isles are not clearly defined because the ends are crooked and seem to go every which way. The exception is the produce section, where the lighting is better. 🙂Polly's Country Market in Jackson on Spring Arbor Rd:I will die before I ever shop here again! The return policy is bad as it can possibly be! Which means you can't return anything, even if you have a receipt! Every staff that I met was grumpy and sarcastic and didn't want to be there, didn't want to help and didn't care about their job or who they came in contact with! The store lighting is dim and everything just seems dirty. God forbid you have to go to the bathroom, I wouldn't want to find out what it would be like in there... Actually I don't even think they have a public bathroom. I don't know, don't care. If you want special specific food items, go to Kroger! Kroger is as far to the great side of the scale as Polly's is to the negative side of the scale. For example Krogers is a 10 and Polly's Country Market in Jackson is a 0! Kroger has great lighting, great hours, Great return policy, great floral department, super awesome produce department and they are stocked full of unusual items that you won't find in other stores! Kroger's is fantastic! Go to Kroger, and don't go to Polly's Country Market in Jackson!

They do not teach their staff how to clean the bottle machines during the day so that they work from open till close. They do not take time to train their baggers of the most efficient way to do their job. I ended up with my container of mushrooms at the bottom of the bag underneath heavy products. Each week in their advertisements it's like a where is Waldo puzzle. You never know which products they actually marked down to the sale price you have to pay attention at checkout. Their seafood is third rate at the very best. Let's not forget the way they treat their employees. They got himself check out registers so that they could get rid of more than half a dozen employees. Most of their so-called full-time employees are kept just under the number of hours necessary to receive benefits. The Kennedy family has no idea how to treat their employees well. They go for the cheapest labor possible with the least amount of training cheap labor. After my last visit I will not be able to justify shopping in their establishment ever again.
