Just an FYI…. This is the Hometown Pharmacy and not the Chelsea Pharmacy. That was their old name. There is a ChelseaCare Pharmacy , but that is a totally different business. I have read the other reviews and this is my perspective. If you have to wait inside or outside in the drive thru, it is because they are always short on staff. The corporate office doesn’t pay a living wage for the counter people and non-pharmacy staff. The corporate people won’t hire additional pharmacists. The main pharmacist is a woman by the name of Heather and she is rude to staff and sometimes short tempered to customers. I highly recommend NOT working there and also NOT getting your prescriptions there as well. The rest of the store has great things to buy though.

This pharmacy literally has everything! Really cool gifts such as decorative items, cookware, toys, clothing etc... You name it they got it! The pharmacy staff are really pleasant and very helpful! I literally had to walk away because I wanted to buy everything in the store! Lol They have really great gifts and one of a kind items that you can't find not only at a pharmacy, but even at top of the line gift shops. Great location, handicap accessible, and tons of shops surrounding the area. Literally just off the freeway. 5/5

People working here are lovely, have purchased several different pharmacy items and got the flu shot. Staff were great and helpful, service was definitely quicker than CVS. And the bonus of not trying to sell the abortion pill (which is dumb and dangerous and k1lls kids) tops it off. Highly recommend this pharmacy for all your needs.

Poor customer service. One time they refused to give me a 3 month supply of my birth control saying the doctor called it in wrong even though it clearly stated I could get as much as I wanted (even more than three months). She then recalled the prescription and wrote it in a different way two times and they still refused each time. Super frustrating as they should not be able to override the amount of my prescription called in by my doctor. Then recently they simply said they “don’t have my prescription” even though it clearly shows on my chart that it was called in December 11th….. it’s a four day supply and today is a weekend so by the time I could call the doctor it will be too late. The guy who answers the phone is extremely rude and would not go any length out of the way to help out or figure out what needs to be done. I would not recommend hometown to anything until the staff become more helpful and educated.

This is a wonderful pharmacy and I’ve found the pharmacy staff, especially Heather, to go out of their way to help me when I’ve needed it. They are always pleasant, knowledgeable, and willing to go the extra mile when I’ve needed additional information or extra help.

I've never seen a slower pharmacy! They do ok filling your prescription, but you will wait forever to pick it up! They just walk past the pickup window, looking at you as they walk in circles.

Sadly in 2023 there is no more US mail service of Schedule III medications, even though they had sent me this same medication every six months from 2017-2022. I thought Hometown was all about the tailor made service...

I called CVS (my usual pharmacy) to transfer a medication to them from Hometown. Instead of sending it to CVS, the people at Hometown had it sent to Walgreen's. Upon calling Walgreen's, they didn't have it either. WHERE did my medication go?? My heart is now racing, because beta blockers aren't supposed to be discontinued suddenly. When I called Hometown, I was told, rather rudely, by a clerk or pharmacist "Yeah, I don't know what happened to it... I don't work here- I'm just helping out." WOW. Could he possibly be more apathetic to my situation? Now I understand the other low ratings. I won't use this pharmacy again. Shameful.

Today I bought a Covid test. I took it and as I was waiting for the results I read the back of the box. The expiration date read 7/10/22. I brought it back to the girl that I bought it from. I pointed out the date and she said that the company had extended it until September and showed me the paperwork. I told her that there should be a note on the packaging or even a verbal heads up. She said only a few people have noticed so far so... Really? It seems unacceptable that they wouldn't warn people so as not to get worried and then seem nonchalant when someone has concerns.

I've gone to Chelsea Pharmacy for a long time and it seems like it just never gets better- always a bad attitude and never quite know what is going on with prescriptions. Each time is different copays and they don't take any accountability.

This post is only rating the drive thru: I've had to back out of the drive thru twice because I waited in line upwards of 20 minutes while the staff contacted doctor's offices or insurance companies, filled prescriptions, and dealt with other services for customers that should be handled inside the store.Thank goodness I was the last car both times, otherwise, I would have been trapped in that line with no way out. I will go inside from now on and if I can't wait, I can simply walk out. Hometown Pharmacy, please have customers that require more in-depth services other than picking up or dropping off prescriptions to come inside, so the rest of us aren't trapped with no way out!

Went to go fill a prescription and was told it would be about 15-20 minutes which was great. After about a half hour I was told they didn’t have it in stock. You seriously couldn’t have said that when we first had contact? They were not busy and I stood by the checkout counter at the pharmacy the whole time in view of all the workers who had plenty of opportunities to tell me they didn’t have it in stock. It’s also a very common medication as well. So, it wasn’t anything special. Either whoever delt with me is super lazy or they lack communication skills. (Or both honestly.) Thanks for wasting close to 40 minutes of my time. Appreciate it.

First I want to say I've never had any bnb problems with the front counter by the door, but the pharmacy is a whole other story. EVERY time I go to pick up prescription I have to wait 5-10 for someone to acknowledge me. Then it's another 5-10 for them to return. If you go to the drive thru it's even worse. Not sure why they have a bell to ring because they don't pay any attention to it. I had to get an IOU because they didn't have all of my medication, but such a hassle I don't want to go back!

This used to be a great place to go. I've been very disappointed lately in not only how long it takes but also on how they don't seam to give a care. There seams to be even more people there on staff so it doesn't look to be a staff shortage. It just seams no one seams to care or know what's going on. Bummer I'm going back to cvs

I picked my uncle up from the cardiac hospital at the University of Michigan Hospital. Went straight to Chelsea, arriving at 515PM on a Saturday night. The store was completely shut down, closed. And guess what, they don't even bother to open on Sundays..I had to call the U of M Hospital and the Doctors were good enough to send the medications to CVS in Chelsea. These were very important medications that were needed to keep his stents open. Even missing a day could cause severe consequences..Chelsea Pharmacy had filled the prescriptions, so the insurance would not cover the new prescription. Filled them, and locked them up until Monday. Seriously.CVS was good enough to give us one pill of each of the three medications, so he would not miss the does that was so important to his health. They will call Chelsea Pharmacy and ask them void their scripts so we can get his medication from a pharmacy, that seems to care more about their customers health than they do..
