I asked when I purchased a few chicks what the policy was if one died. I was told one thing. I did have a death within twenty four hours. If I called the store to ask what the policy was to be sure. I didn't want to drive all the way up there for nothing.The employee in customer service told me another thing. She mentioned that is what she believed. I told her I needed to make sure or else I wouldn't make the trip. She asked me to hold for the manager.Twelve minutes later no one answered. I decided to take the carcass and receipt to the store. I was given vague return terms, I figured I had what I needed.The manager informed me she did not know how the chicken was treated and there was no policy. She said she would give me a chick.But then when i'm to tell me how lucky I was for her good graces.I explained I was told two different ways that such a policy existed, and also had held to speak with her."I didn't hear about it".I asked her to not get upset with me. Her employees keep telling me things that aren't happening. She took that as a personal attack. I walked out of the store as she was defending her employees making things up.

I searched all over town for small cabinet pads. I wanted felt since the clear ones melted over time... FF&H had them for 3 bucks! Amazon had some, but we're over $10. I like to shop local. Thanks for having a bit of everything I need.

It is always a pleasant experience shopping here. There is always a good selection of goods to choose from the the prices are competitive.Sadly, I had a bad experience with their curb side pickup. We needed a heated animal feed bowl so ordered online for curbside pickup. It went fine except that the unit was cracked and unusable. It did not come in a box so the store employee should have seen that it was cracked and non-serviceable so I was disappointed in that respect. But we needed a serviceable unit RIGHT NOW for the animals on this sub-zero weather. We called in and arranged to get a replacement. The only problem was it was closing time in ten minutes. When I realized the problem we immediately turned the car around and were already heading back to the store. Not good enough. The girl on the phone said closing time was closing time and that was final. I said that was unacceptable. She did not ask how much time we were talking about, just closing meant closing. I told here this meant a bad review. She replied that I didn't need to be "unkind."This is a lack of customer relations understanding. It is not about the store. It is about the customer. I can see not accommodating 20 minutes beyond closing. I was talking about 10 minutes. But she did not ask about the time. But worse, I was being "unkind" in exercising my judgement as to what was reasonable. Maybe I was being unreasonable to ask for 10 minutes (which I did not get the chance to say). I will leave that up to the reader.

Walked in expecting it to be like tractor supply. This store makes TSC look inferior. They have every thing from tools, rv/marine, feed, livestock and pet feed and accessories, apparel, steel toes. This is a farm store that seemingly caters to every aspect of country life and then some. Being a farm girl, I questioned some of the employees. Knowledgeable and not condescending bc of my gender. Also, they have a dog grooming service in the back of the store. I'll def be returning.

Interesting store to browse. Not a huge place, but lots of stuff for home, tools, farm, work clothing, etc. I bought a nice big bag of bird seed. Some power equipment, auto maintenance stuff like oil, and a bunch more stuff I cannot recall just now.

This is the best place in Chelsea for farm goods and home decor/farm, country type. Carry alot of the same items as a Tractor Supply, just maybe a bit cheaper. Great rewards card/program!Update: I visited this location a while bk (8/14/18), completely expecting to have a difficult time returning clothes that didn't fit... without a receipt. At many retail establishments, that's like pulling teeth. However, the manager, did an absolute wonderful job at returning the items with no hassle. One of the most friendly managers I've dealt with in a while. I feel bad about not remembering her name. But it was 4 or 5 letters and started with a K. I'll update if I can verify her name. She absolutely deserves special recognition for outstandingly perfect customer service, as this isn't the first time I'veworked with her or seen her in action with other customers. Couldn't have asked for a better person to help with my return, as it required much patience to complete! Thank you!

I love Family Farm and Home! However, I must admit I go to the Ace hardware first and then I go there. They have had parts I've needed where Ace didn't. So they are definitely a place that I visit every chance I get. The staff there are always so nice too!

My go-to store for feed. Dogs, cats, goats, horses, chickens, you name it. They do have baby chicks in spring and summer. Friendly staff. I do recommend you become a rewards member if you frequently shop there (free and you get $5 coupons once in a while). Prices here have definitely gone up, as with everywhere.

Excellent customer service by super friendly staff.Selection is more than you might expect from a medium sized hardware store. And they have a significant selection that is NOT Farm or hardware, including good prices on sporting goods.Also being open later than other local stores was a huge help to me personally.

Had a great experience the first day I was there finding food for my pup and the manager was great and helped me out. I planned to do all my shopping here from now on until the day after thanksgiving I had an experience that put a sour taste in my mouth. People love puppies and I understand their excitement to pet them and give them treats but I expect the employees to at least ask before feeding my dog food. I walked in and the cashier gave my puppy a treat right away, I seen what the treat was and didn’t make a big deal about it even when she didn’t ask me. The problem was when I left before we walked by her I asked her not to give my pup a treat again. She directed us to some socks on sale in the front of the store which I decided to look at quickly before taking off. As I was looking at the socks she ran up and snuck a treat to my puppy(not the same kind as before either). Please make sure your employees ask before feeding peoples dog treats.

Wonderful store and nice variety of products. Great sales and some vendors were even on site. Womens bathroom needs major attention/remodel. There was no toilet paper or soap in the women's restroom.

Prices on plants and flowers are not posted. After asking and being told sale prices, I brought plants inside and they rang up full price. “Oh, those aren’t on sale!” they said. With a long line behind me, I didn’t argue, but I’m fuming. Why not put prices on items and avoid irritated customers?

I bought six hens at this Chelsea location twice now. The first time one of them turned out to be a rooster. And I'm completely fine with it. Because he turned out to be a complete sweetheart that follows me around like a puppy dog I love him. Then about six more and they gave me two for free just to get rid of the last two that was available. I buy all my chicken feed from there. I buy my watering devices from there. Heat lamps and other things. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. I love this store. My dad kind of teases me about how much I go there.

Family Farm and Home is such a great place for more than just feed...I have picked up so many things that I never knew they had, ie I have picked up all types of hardware, paint, and plumbing supplies, a gate, great clothes, shovels, boots for my kids, and this is just the last few months of trips...oh and they do alot for the community like this past weekend we went in for a visit with Santa. Keep up the great work!!

Does a great job of filling the gaps between our Ace hardware and chelsea farmers supply. Great selection of tools and hardware odds and ends. Generators, mowers, patio furniture and more. Beats tractor supply Co any day. Tree selection in spring is fantastic.
