I came from Grosse Pointe Mi. to have some fun on spring break. My guy forgot his swim trunks for the pool at the hotel and we decided to support the Goodwill in Cheboygan. I'm sorry to say that we returned to our hotel and there was a brown stain on the inside netting. I also bought a purse that smelled like cigarette smoke and threw it in the garbage.

I understand the clothes have already been makerked down. However, I have been in several goodwills and this is by far the highest prices I have seen. I walked in and walked out. Ended up going to salvation army with same brand, same good used condition clothing with more then half the price. Salvation has colored tag sales.Which all other goodwill stores have colored tag sales.

The prices here have gotten ridiculously high. Rather shop at Salvation Army down the road where I can find good name brand clothes for half the price as Goodwill. I don’t even want to donate here anymore.

Goodwill has a large selection of items. The hours posted in Chrome are misleading so I posted a pic of the hours that are posted on the front door. Two years ago I would have given this business a 5 star rating. However, they have raised their prices drastically. It's to the point that they have exceeded the original pricing of buying items brand new.The last pricing increase put men's pants at 16.99 and raised the price of used books to 4.99Unacceptable. This community already suffers from a high percentage of underprivileged populations. Goodwill is exploiting it's classification and claims in terms of accepting free donations and charging such high prices in a community IT DOES NOT SERVICE.Cheboygan customers pay top dollar for secondhand items which would be more reasonable if Goodwill actually offered the services it boasts to our community. What Goodwill actually offered our community is the opportunity for our homeless population to purchase a used pair of pants for 16.99 or read a book for 4.99.Doesn't look or sound like charity considering the tax-free status our community pays for giving them the opportunity to conduct business in our town.

Cheboygan Michigan Good Will has gone down hill. I found two tops and some slacks. Found out that this store does not let you try on clothes so I put them back. I am not taking clothes home to try on and have to bring back. Reason given was that they are short staffed. It is even posted on the dressing rooms. It has been like this since the Corona Virus. I won't be surprised if this store goes out of business. I asked when they expect to allow people to try on things. I was told probably never. Wow! I can't understand why it causes more work for employees if I put back items I try on. It would be more work if I took items home then had to bring them back for them to process a return. Time to get a better manager or close this branch. Maybe a different company can move in.

Love this newer Goodwill store! Nice and roomy, clean, and we'll organized. Great prices on a variety of items. And the employees are wonderfully helpful, one in particular, who has been there several times when I've shopped. I wish I'd caught her name! But she says she loves her job there and you can tell she means it! I always look forward to shopping here.

Wow!! I usually shop goodwill in a much, much larger city and the prices are 1/4 less than what they are in this small town. Makes absolutely no sense to me. Not even brand name stuff, if you don’t have much and need a deal don’t go here…. Better off getting new at the Walmart in town🙄

The staff are very friendly & helpful. I have donated a lot of household goods & clothing to this store. However, Ithink for a second hand store, their prices are too high. At Christmas time, I was shopping for Christmas decor. There were some items that were more expensive than brand new at Walmart. I do like to shop here for books & household items and have found & purchased some great finds. I don't mind paying the price when the money goes to a good cause, but I don't know to what extent they help our local community. I believe there are some folks in our community that would not be able to afford to shop here. My suggestion to this store is to share with the community what they are doing locally to help our community. I would like to know how much money remains local and what kind of services they offer.

This store is so grossly over priced, it's sickening. The mass market adult paperbacks that people drop off for FREE are $3.99 a book. There were even small, thin, kids chapter books that were also in this $3.99 section. Kids books!....That is appalling. That should outrage everyone. Someone is making a lot of money off free items dropped off. This Cheboygan Goodwill is doing a disservice to their community - and they should be completely embarrassed that someone has to pay $3.99 for a used, worn, old paperback book. **I was at this store on 2-14-21.

As others have noted, Goodwill pays its CEO 7 figures and uses loopholes to pay its workforce less than minimum wage. That bothers me, but what bothers me more is how drastically their prices have increased during Covid. Items donated are still free to the store, but their profit is clearly soaring at a time when more and more people are shopping at GW. Lest you think that this is ok, remember that this is a charity, not a for-profit business that operates on a market-based pricing system. Add to that the fact that (according to watchdog organizations) Goodwill only provides ONE EIGHTH of its profits to charity and there is no real reason to shop here if you intend to support true good will. The store in Cheboygan seems to be no exception to the rule: high prices and low wages. You may as well shop at Amazon - at least you are funding Bezos’ ego-driven space exploration.

Usually find decent things here, although they tend to cost twice as much as the other thrift store in town (or more, depending on the item). But, compared to full price for a brand new item, it is usually still a bargain or et least acceptable price.

I went to Goodwill and it's like thrift shop heaven, I find good used products here at decent prices. Stacey (the cashier) is so nice, she deserves a raise!!!

Somewhat disappointed. Over priced, poor selection. And how much profit does the CEO make? Better to donate to the real charities like Salvation Army or Habitat For Humanity.

Not a good fit for Cheboygan, have yet to see what they give to our community, other than take our donations & move the profit to another city.
