Had an issue with Bernard Building Center regarding Andersen windows. Windows we spent close to $25,000 on. Posted a review on Google regarding this situation. Sent the owner and the manager of Cheboygan Bernard Building Center a letter over a week ago. Never received a written response from either person. Went back to check when my initial review was written. Lo and behold, there was Bernard's response to my criticism and review......on-line but not a letter in response to our situation and Bernard's posted their comment over a week ago. Since Bernard's response was over a week ago, unless they sent a response letter via a turtle, it appears there will be no written response via a letter.As another reviewer said, if I could give Bernard's less than one star, I would. To post a reply to a review only on-line and not answer the letter is extremely poor business practice. Another reviewer left a bad review too and at least that reviewer was dealt with via a personal message, not an on-line response.But no worries Bernard, we get your message loud and clear. Frequent the big box stores, or other family owned businesses as they don't throw contractors under the bus; they don't say the windows were installed incorrectly and never advise their customers of that opinion until the customer complains; and, have better business practices in dealing with customers. Adios, will spend our money elsewhere.P.S. Finally received a written letter in response to mine. Insulting, rude and demeaning on one hand and then on the other tried to sound like a concerned business owner. Said if I took down my poor review they would fix the problem with the window. I stand by what I wrote and will never, ever spend a penny at a business that treats customers the way it treated us.

Great local store with fantastic employees to help you out. Everything you need and then some. Picked up a great deal on a phone! 90 degree day and I enjoyed the breeze! Always will go back and get what we need @ Bernards!

I called to do a curbside pick up order and I was trying to explain to the guy what i wanted without knowing the name for sure. I seen multiple names for it. So he gave me his personal phone number to send him a picture and he sent a picture of what they had. Unfortunately I do not remember his name. Very smooth transaction.

I needed to replace a large window in my 116 year old home. I had put off the project for quite a while, but with the help of Bernard's, was able to order an excellent custom window at a very reasonable price. I also built a wheelchair ramp for a friend and was able to return a few unused items with no problems. Bernard's is a great store!

They got me the things I needed to get my Leaky hot water PVC pipe fixed so I now have hot water again. I hate frozen pipes it not fun. Thank you for the help.

The staff take a very personal interest in your project or problem. In one visit, we found several bits and pieces to complete several unfinished work projects. We also learned about the cost difference between pressure treated wood and imitation wood. That was disheartening but informative. Our lumber man even asked us to find him when we were starting another project. It feels like I am at home. Quite a comfortable feeling in a place for DIY'ers.

Waited for person with knowledge of flooring for 20 minutes. Her " knowledge" was to say I don't know but i'll go check. Wife and I left the store at that point. Cheboygan store is bad!!

Regardless of health conditions, personal beliefs etc. They require you to wear a mask in order to enter the building and get what you need. Today they lost my business support.
