We dropped our dogs off for a week and they were well cared for. The daily pictures are a must and the play session is well with the money. The pups came back healthy and happy and as a bonus, clean! We'll be using Daisy's from here on out when our plans have to exclude the dogs.

We've used Daisy's Pet Retreat several times for boarding our two dogs. They are wonderful! Great accommodations for the pups and the staff are outstanding! Our pups have anxiety when we aren't with them and the staff are kind and caring - keeping them engaged and calm. They keep us updated through the pics on facebook and through texts while we are traveling. We will be using them in the future and highly recommend them for short and long term stays!

Daisy's Pet Retreat is excellent. They care for your furbaby like they are their own. They offer wonderful services to entertain and exercise your dog. The facility is immaculate, and the staff are caring, organized, responsive, and have a great customer service. I feel comfortable leaving my dog and cat there. Everyday they post photos of your pet on FB, so you can see they are happy and well. This makes travelling much more enjoyable and relaxing!

I have been boarding my dogs at Daisy’s Pet Retreat for over 10 years. They have taken super care of all my dogs. The staff is always friendly, patient and willing to go the extra mile. The prices are reasonable. They don’t even laugh when I start pulling out all the toys, blankets and treats I bring. I know my dog has a great time there. They’ve even sent me pictures of her playing in the yard!I began taking my dogs to Daisy’s when my vet stopped boarding services and I was forced to find a new kennel. At the time, I had a special needs dog who required extra care. Not all places were willing to take on this extra work. Luckily, I found Daisy’s. They were more than willing to take on this responsibility.A big plus for me is the fact the owners, Jen and Brad, live just a few hundred yards away. I like knowing that someone is close by if there is an emergency. That was not the case with some of the other places I checked into. I feel like I get a more personalized service at Daisy’s.It’s even nicer since the remodel a few years ago. I really like the private suites.I highly recommend you check out Daisy’s Pet Retreat.

We had our test day earlier this week with our new puppy. A very cool thing that Daisy's does is bring your pet in for a test day prior to a big boarding stay. Drop off and pick up was a breeze. I am most impressed with the AMAZING communication leading up to and after this stay. We will be boarding our puppy again in about a month. Also, they told us that they loved our dog and couldn't wait to spend more time with him. That's an automatic 5 star in my book. Photos show just how happy Toast was after his visit!

We just love Daisy's! Our dog loves to play and appears to be well taken care of when she visits. Our dog wiggles her whole body with excitement when we turn into the drive. The facility is very cute and clean. At her last visit, our dog was fully groomed, with the "de-shedding" package. It's helped with her shedding so much. Go to Daisy's! You won't be disappointed.

Love daisys! My pets love it here. The hours for pick up and drop off are convenient. And the staff is always so friendly and obviously in love with the pets they work with. Plus it is always nice that they post pictures of the pets everyday on facebook. Its so reassure to get to see the dogs happy and played with everyday.

Awesome place to take your animal. The owners here are really friendly people that will go out of their way to take care of your pet. This isn't a place where your pet is put in isolation the entire time. Instead, your pet gets a balance of play time outside with rest and treats. They definitely seem happy when they get there and happy when they leave.

In July 2016, while boarded at Daisy’s Pet Retreat in Charlotte, MI, our dog was attacked by another boarded dog and died shortly thereafter as a result of complications from the attack. The purpose of this review is to inform current and future customers, so that they can ensure proper remedial measures have been taken by the kennel so that a similar tragedy does not occur to anyone else’s beloved pet.Our family boarded our dog at this kennel several times and prior to the incident had satisfactory experiences. On this occasion, an unlicensed pit bull climbed two six-foot fences to attack our 12-year old 30-pound non-aggressive Scottish Terrier. A kennel employee tried to save our dog and suffered injuries herself from the pit bull attack. After extensive injuries, surgery and vet care, the attack proved too much for our dog, and he passed away.Daisy’s Pet Retreat website indicates that they only board non-aggressive animals. Daisy’s website also states that all male dogs must be neutered. This pit bull was not neutered, which presumably would have reduced their territorial aggression. Considering the information the kennel has on their website, we did not expect that our dog would have come into contact with such an aggressive dog and be put into risk.We did not receive a clear explanation as to what led to the attack and the aggression in the pit bull. However, we were specifically never told that our dog did anything to incite aggression with the pit bull. The lack of an explanation as to what happened leads me to conclude that the employees were not properly watching the dogs, and/or the pit bull’s aggression was so severe that the mere sight of another animal several feet away was enough to spur them to climb two fences to get at the other dog.If the kennel chooses to accept pit bulls, known to be able to climb fences, they should have considered fences that curve inwards at the top, roof fencing, or other escape-proof dog runs to hinder the risk of fence climbing/escaping. Other potential considerations could include use of a muzzle; physical isolation by keeping aggressive breeds in a separate building from smaller dogs; having the aggressive breeds out for exercise at separate times from other/smaller dogs; etc. I am not an expert in aggressive breeds, but a quick internet search shows that other kennels employ these measures. In my opinion there were basic measures which could have been taken to avoid this incident. It is likely that there is responsibility to be assumed by the owner of the pit bull for not being aware of the aggression or ignoring it when leaving their dog at the kennel. However, both dog owners left their pets in the care of the kennel. Both owners lost their pets (the pit bull was euthanized). If the kennel was not prepared or equipped to deal with aggressive breeds, they should not have accepted such animals. The kennel’s insurance covered the vet bills, and the owner expressed empathy and concern over the situation. However, I would urge any pet owners to discuss this situation with the owners to ensure that any risk of a similar tragedy is mitigated prior to leaving their pet at this facility.
