All in all a decent grocery store. Employees are nice. Wish they sold USDA choice meats. In the summer they have a small section labeled as "Prime" but it doesn't really look it. Alot of people I know get their meats at Olson's but they're not that hot either. Produce can be hit and miss also.

I can’t believe how comfortable the new store manager was being unprofessional and refusing to help me. Yelling at me? I’m 32 years old and for it to be such a small town that man has some nerve speaking to a young woman the way that man spoke to me. If I were the district manager I’d make sure to get this man’s privileges under control. That’s insane! And even on a holiday. Nobody deserves that. I like the guy that used to be the manager, he was way more professional! Learn some couth. Unbelievable!!

This is a great store. Meat department offerings is amazing. Fresh delicious produce with cut fruit, fresh greens and veggies. Great visit.

Friendly staff, a wide variety and selections of groceries. The store is clean, classy and well organized. The prices are lower than the Olson's in town. There's an abundance of great parking spots. The self check outs, my personal favorite for checking out, are in good working order. I have never had a problem with using them.

Had a great selection of products and was very easy to navigate. The service was friendly and helpful. Prices were reasonable and I especially loved their selection of local wines. I would certainly shop here again in the future.

Not really sure why you would blame customers for not up keeping you're machines if you're going to recycle ♻️ then clean the machines. Flys coming out all sticky and as a store manager coming out and blaming it on customers who just wanted to return what they paid a deposit on. Then you refuse the taking of some petty five cans. Maybe 🤔 it was a off day but seriously some communication skills need to be given to people who also are suffering from putting up with nasty people we all have been goin thru it not just yourself. I give everyone credit for working as they have been. World is different but unless we learn to work together we're never going to get anywhere...

Only 1 cashier, with long line, so I went to self-checkout. Needed help on a few items, but waited 10 minutes, until someone came and send no help available. Took 30 minutes to check out. Never going back.

Tamela is wonderful always cheerful even though it is so obvious she is over worked I'm hoping because of the shortage of staff, I however feel certain people in management could step up and help more. Shop here every other day, certain people are favorites to the management. For convenience our business has to use Family Fare, prices are high, Boyne City store is horrible, management is horrible, Charlevoix is better than Boyne City, the staff not in upper management in Charlevoix is wonderful 👍 in Boyne City Gay is the best person in the store to me. There are a few others I wish I knew their names and I would mention them. Other than that in Boyne City I've been treated extremely rude because I believe they're overworked and very unhappy there.

Can goods last forever but are cheater elsewhere. Produce last just out of the parking lot. When you see five items left you know they're the oldest. Good corporate specials. Well staffed with nice people. Some of the managers meat specials are green. I know we are a long way from perishable sources but the staff could do a much better job of purging the aged stuff and selling it for 1/4 price or donating it.

The store is long with short isles. Well marked, a nice size store. Some prices are higher than what I see back on West coast. People friendly. And helpful. Can get in/out quick if you need.

(Revised one day later!)A new level of rude! After the bottle machine would not accept bottles we had purchased there, we went to the service desk. After several minutes an employee wandered over to help. We asked him to refund our bottles. His response: “ We don’t return bottles at the counter. If the machine doesn’t work, throw them away.” I reminded him that Michigan law says they must refund what they sell, he rudely denied any such responsibility. Spartan Nash needs to replace the leadership in this store and retrain any remaining employees.Update: the next day the store manager called me directly to apologize and have me identify the employee in question. The manager agreed he had a training opportunity an said he would tackle it. He also volunteered how would have addressed the situation...his approach would have met or exceeded my expectations. Hats off to the leader of this store!

I am a local and the Family Fare in Charlevoix is my go to grocery store. It is always clean and the shelves stocked. The deli is quick and clean as well as the meat department. The one complaint I have are the prices. The price of food at all grocery stores are going up, but it just seems like if your not paying attention to every single price on every piece of food, you can end up spending an arm and a leg.

It is a decent store you can get decent groceries there . Everything in it is expensive . There are a couple problems there's a spot in the store that smells like rotten garbage. They closed their deli very early. They don't have enough employees. They don't pay enough money for their employees. And their manager is kind of rude.

Only 3 lines open. 1 of those with a sales clerk. 15 people in each line. Can they not open up more self serve lines!! Set up reflects an extremely poor value of Family Fare customers.

Was fine until i went to check out. Self scan stopped because it couldn't handle processing grands biscuits and 5 employees stood there looking at me until I was going to leave and go shop somewhere else. Which im just going to do from now on.

I just recently moved to Charlevoix and it’s an amazing little town, and unfortunately Family Fare is one of the only grocery stores. Every time I go in there the cashiers are extremely rude. Don’t recommend. Horrible customer service.
