This hotel is great! It’s an awesome price for what you get. It’s right on the water and the sunsets you’re able to see even from your room are incredible. I’ve been here multiple times and the room is always clean. The owner and workers are very nice. There are multiple fire pits you can use. It’s so close to town where there are countless activities to do. I highly recommend this place!

My Wife and I had a great time at Bella Vista. I read many reviews prior to booking and despite some of the (petty) negative reviews, we booked anyway because of the photos other guests have shared. This place is a hidden gem. This isn't the Hilton, so keep that in mind when booking, but the room was clean and the view of the lake is worthy of 5 stars. Great times on the beach, meeting new friends by the bon fire each night. We will be back. Herschel, the owner, is very friendly and accommodating. His entire staff were great. We are so glad we found this awesome place, rooms literally a 30 second walk to the beach. Great time! You'll have a great time if you book a trip here. Also, the views of the sunset are incredible.

It's an older motor in and the rooms are more rustic. Like being in a cabin.The rooms were furnished very nice and clean. No table and chairs, we used our chairs we brought or sat on the bed. We were outside most of the time. Our cooler was our fridge. They did supply ice whenever we needed it. I enjoyed it very much and would go back again. Take an air mattress or tube because the water was only knee deep for a long way out.

My friend and I have stayed here two years now and have loved it! Seriously couldn’t ask for a better location. We choose the lakeside room, walk right out to the beach and back to your room. There are fire pits and grills available for use. The only downside is there’s no fridge in the room. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable for a motel bed. Office staff is friendly and accommodating. my daughter got married on the beach @ Bella Vista on 9/23/2023. Hersel & his staff went above & beyond what we expected. Their hospitality & assistance was incredible. We had quite a large overnight crowd & the staff made sure everyone was satisfied with their accommodations. The weather was perfect & the sunsets were absolutely amazing !

This place needs some serious cleaning. The “cabins” are disgusting. We were in Cabin 1, yes great view on the beach but not good enough to come back. The floors are filled with sand and bugs, none of the mirrors or windows have been cleaned, fridge was so dirty, beer cans on the patio from previous guests, sink was horrendous, pumpkin seeds in between the couch from previous guests.The shower was filthy and the well water smells so bad I couldn’t even shower in it.The girl at the front desk was very nice when we got there, that is the only positive thing I could say about this motel.

The location is right on the water. Beautiful scenery beautiful views and the best part is I could walk out into the water pretty far and still not be underwater. They have wonderful grilling stations. Just like everywhere else they are short staffed so Saturday night we were not able to get ice. The rooms have been well used but everything looked semi-clean.Rooms: Rooms were a decent sizeNearby activities: There are lots of things to do nearby. Lots of little restaurants.Safety: I felt very safe very comfortedWalkability: I did a lot of walkingFood & drinks: You can bring your own food and drinks or you can go to the nearby restaurant. There's nothing on site.

Absolutely loved the location and the staff. Everyone was pleasant and seemed to enjoy working there. Room was quaint and decorated in a nautical theme. Perfect vibe for the area. View of the water was beautiful and the sunset was magnificent. We took turns between the pool and the lake, both clean and comfortable. Very easy laid back weekend, we got what we came for. Our family has been going to Caseville for 30+ years. While we are thankful Bella Vista can accommodate our (large) family, the upkeep and cleanliness are SORELY LACKING. We stay for an entire week and don’t mind bringing ALL of our own things (linens, towels, rugs, dish soap, trash bags, toilet paper, hedge trimmers, vacuums). However when we notice even one thing that might need attention we are immediately dismissed.It’s either our fault that it’s like that or maybe we are just making it up. WHAT?!Last year, the first night we arrived, I personally wiped vomit (that didn’t belong to me or my family) off the walls before I put my kid to sleep. COMPLETELY MISSED BY CLEANING. We rent 4 houses and this year alone we had every bodily fluid YOU CAN THINK OF on the sheets/comforters … this is in separate houses… each bed had some form of (dried) gross bodily fluid on it. We were told maybe our family did it. Not an ounce of compassion. Clearly mortified.

We don’t write reviews much but I absolutely had to to explain how wonderful Bella Vista is!! My husband surprised me with a trip here for our one year anniversary in July and we couldn’t wait to come back! Came again in August and, as always, it was equally amazing! The rooms are so cute! So clean and the most comfy pillows! It’s so nice to have fresh coffee in the morning and to be greeted by smiling people! But nothing beats the beach, the grounds, the sunset, and the staff! The water is spectacular on this side of the state! I suggest everyone brings a floatie and a tieout! If you don’t, I guarantee you’ll go buy one! I’m sure we will drive the 3 hours to come back in a couple of weeks. I’ll miss it!Rooms: Super clean and cute!! Very comfortableNearby activities: Best beach just outside your door! Such a fun town!Safety: Not a worry about safety!

The pictures are lies!!! This place is so filthy, REALLY NEEDS TLC!!!The owner is just looking for $$$ needs to put some money into it and not his pocket. The room we had was filthy. The air-conditioning was 4 inches of dust in the vents.. had to turn it off because it stunk up the room like trash... too bad there wasn't anything else because we would have been gone.. It's definitely not worth the money we spent.. nothing in the room, two beds, which was a joke it was like people had a jumping party on the mattress. and a 10 tv, and a bathroom with a small shower... and loads sand in the room. The bed even had sand in it... we took the sheets off and shook them out... And no hot water to speak of.... the pictures of the place are not current by no means... There's your warning!!!! Stay away, no restaurant or bar as they advertise. One pool, not two..... The TOWN of Caseville said years ago it was a nice place. However, the owner has ZERO interest in it.. just the $$$$ that he can get... shame on you, Hector..

Stayed here for my girls weekend we stayed in rooms facing towards the water! I'd definitely recommend spending the extra 10 dollars to have the water view totally worth it! The rooms are well cleaned and cozy there is a nice fire pit to hang around and they have the most friendly staff! Not to mention the beach isn't a far walk from the rooms with swings facing the water on the beach and they have a very nice pool! I'm definitely coming back in 2023 for our girls weekend at cheeseburger! 😊

We had a 2 bedroom suite. It was really sweet....no handle on the refrigerator and the seal on the door stuck to the fridge. The cleaning was horrific. We had a glass top coffee table that couldn't have been cleaned in months. The best part was my husband took a hot shower and called me in to see the writing on the mirror (if you all know what happens when the steam hits the mirror). So that hadn't been cleaned either. The furniture looked like what you would find in a garage sale for young adults first apartments. This was a fishing vacation and we have stayed in places like this but not for the money we paid

Just spent a Girls Weekend here. Was nervous reading the reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. We all had a great attitude and fabulous time! Yes rooms are small, no coffee pot, no fridge, but we were there for the beach, which did not disappoint! Beautiful, sandy beach. No rocks. They comb the beach each morning to pick up drift wood. We literally walked out of our room, onto the beach. Everyone we interacted with was super nice and friendly. Can't wait to book our trip for next year! We did learn a few things, a broom would be helpful. We had coolers that we filled each morning with ice. Bring charcoal for the grills and smore sticks for the fire pit. Excited for our next visit!

Great value! We spent an extra 10.00 and got a room that not only faced the beach but was about a 100' from the water. You simply can't beat this value in hotel/motels or air bnb's. I was surprised to see some negative reviews and quite honestly was a little concerned going in but this place completely delivered. A previous reviewer mentioned bugs in their room and the room being dirty. I did not experience any bugs in the room. I saw swarming mayflies down the road at the campground but we were bugless inside the room. The room was not dirty. I tracked sand in but it was hard not to because it was on the beach. The Bella Vista/ Sunset Bay offers mid century modern kitsch at a reasonable price and most importantly we were on a gorgeous sandy beach.fr

The beach and view is amazing. We faced west so we saw one of the most beautiful sunsets we have ever seen. The rooms were nicelydecorated . The staff was so pleasant. We enjoyed speaking withthe owner Hershal. You can tell he really takes pride in his adorable beach motel. We will be staying again.Thanks so much for making our vacation memorable..

Very disappointed about this place. Terrible service, old and dirty place, dirty pool filled with bugs and seemed to never been cleaned, all the lights outside of the room were broken. The room seemed to not be cleaned properly where the bathroom was not even flushed. The blind in the back was broken where anyone walking could see through our room!We checked out immediately within an hour and drove back home nearly 2.5 hours because we were disgusted and couldn't stay another minute there.AVOID AVOID AVOID. I don't recommend it to anyone!!!! If I could i would give it 0 stars!!

One star is being nice! The place is outdated and run down. Room was very dirty, bugs and cobwebs everywhere. The bathroom had not been cleaned in a very long time. The toilet was yellow and the place smelled bad. Thank goodness we brought our Lysol. The outside of our room was filthy and loaded with bugs. Not at all like the pictures and no pool. Never again!

You literally get what you pay for. This isn't the Hilton. It's a waterfront motel. Rooms were basic and clean. Staff was extremely friendly. Community firepits were fun. They have grills. Make sure to have a cooler if you are in a standard room and charcoal if you plan on cooking.The beach is amazing. The sand was raked every morning. Beautiful sunrise and beautiful sunset.

This motel is nothing like the pictures on the website. Dirty blanket and sheets. Cobwebs on the night fixture above our bed with 2 dead mosquitos. The glass part of the light fixture above the bed was also full of dead bugs. The toilet water was yellow. The sink looked like it hadn’t been wiped down since the place opened. Our shower took a good 10 hours to fully drain and the water had the worse stench ever. We supposed to stay 3 nights after night 2 in the morning we packed up. The bar was closed. The beach looks NOTHING like the pictures. Horrible!!! Do not waste your money!!!

I just stayed at the Bella Vista Inn & Sunset Bay Resort with my daughter earlier this week. We very much enjoyed the place. It’s easy to see that this comfortable, quaint little resort is a bit on the older side, however, it is so full of charm that it’s barely noticeable. Our room was clean, cozy, and decorated in a cute nautical theme. The grounds were gorgeous! And the service was fine. No complaints. I have to say, some of the nasty reviews I’d read had me worried about booking here, but we found nothing wrong with any part of it. I have stayed in many, many motels over the years and some of them very high end which, of course, were extremely nice. If that’s what you’re looking for go somewhere else and pay top dollar. If your’re looking to enjoy a great beach experience in a beautiful relaxed and laid back setting, save the big bucks and stay here.

It is all about perspective! We booked a lake facing room last minute and we were impressed it really was a lake facing room! The grounds between the motel and lake are nicely kept, but keep in mind this is not a 5 star resort in Miami, it's an Up North motel! We were shocked at how much beach front there was and how nice it was! Clean sand, all sand bar in front of the resort, and beautiful sunsets! We usually vacation in Traverse City, but the sunset here was just as nice. Fire pits every where so we were able to have fires every night like we were camping. The room could have been a little cleaner and we had to kill a lot of spiders when first checking in, but again we usually tent camp so it was no big deal, it is an UP NORTH motel. You are paying for location, not amenities. This place is a great location and the price was definitely right!

Just what we needed to detox from work life! It's one of the best beaches in the world to enjoy for a really great price.  Beds were better than I though. Yes, the room needed airing and updating but that's to be expected since the tourist season is mostly the summer months.  I would bring a broom to sweep the floors occasionally or not. There is wonderful white sand everywhere. Maybe bring a door mat to wipe feet on.  The window air conditioner/heat is new and quieter than any other I've heard.  Basic rooms we stayed in did not have refrigerator, microwave or coffee makers. Coffee and two small bags of ice provided at the office.  There is a ledge for any plug-ins you bring. Firepits everywhere and everyone is gathered around.  More than enough tables provided to bbq and enjoy friends and family. If traveling with children remember all room doors look the same.  Maybe bring or have the kids make a decoration help find the right room? You can not connect to WIFI when you try even though they give you a good password. Leave your work at home and have fun. I had cell service my friend's carrier did not provide here. Read the reviews. Bring what you need. You get "way way" more than what you paid for.We loved life on the water and will be back next year and stay longer!
