I'd like to give them a 5 star, but after my visit on Monday, they don't merit 5 stars. I do self check out because I pay more attention to prices this way. I've had the wrong price ring up once too many times and catch it after I'm home. So, I scanned a package of bacon, which was priced 4.39 on the shelf. It scanned 5.69 instead. Janet called back, and they told her that was the correct price. I walked to the back with Janet to show her that's the price that was displayed on the shelf. She looked and brought to my attention that someone placed the 16oz package on the wrong rack. I showed her that all the packages on the 4.39 rack were 16 oz, not 12 oz, and it appears that's how they were stocked it was not just one or two packages.There was no price on any of the racks that read 5.69. I feel that as a customer, I'm being deceived. Why? Because I went back the next day and noticed that they didn't correct the problem but did refill the racks with the same 16 oz package in the 4.39 shelf.I wonder how long this has been going on and how many customers are purchasing something for a different price than what was on the shelf!I asked for the manager but apparently was not available but Janet said she was the assistant. The meat man was also aware because he came up front while I was checking out. Janet was rude and even asked do you still want the bacon or not? I told her that they needed to honor the prices but she rudely said it's not my fault I've got no control over that. The bacon scanned at the correct bar code and I told her that it may have scanned correctly, but this is hook line and sinker because someone stocked all the 16 oz bacon in the 12 oz bacon rack and there is no 5.69 rack to be seen. Janet or the meat dept didn't correct this even after it was brought to their attention.

Bought a cold 14” sub for $8.00. It had very little meat and cheese. Pretty much a bread loaf.

Store was clean and easy to navigate. Low traffic volume for time of day (9:30 a.m.). Men's bathroom was disgusting. Bathroom desperately needed to be cleaned. Floor was wet and smelled of urine.

Customer service is so terrible here. We finally gave up trying to deal with the rude employees, mispriced & expired items.The deli used to be my only reason left for shopping here, but the lack of food safety is nasty. Three visits in a row I witnessed employees leave behind chunks of old meats and cheeses on the grinder. Kid working admitted it had not been cleaned during his shift. Even more disturbing was watching another employee use a dirty hand washing station sink as a place to cut open new deli meat. The food was instantly contaminated, and she just threw it on the slicer... like it wasn't just rolling around a filthy unsanitary sink. I'm curious how long before the health department catches on.

Bought a large sub sandwich and some spinach dip; the dip is more like spinach paste as it was thick enough to make both bread and cracker break when trying to eat it from the package. Almost completely ground up spinach and very little yogurt, cream cheese or veggies.the sub was more bread than ingredients, and the lettuce was so old it looked like it had been on there for days. For $13, I expect a lot more freshness than I received for this large sub. The spinach dip is just disgusting, and I have thrown it out.Do better D&W, or wait until the new Meijer store comes in at 68th and the beltline and you will be out of business.

Great service but over priced. Everything is $1.00-$2.00 more than Meijer. Want to use their digital coupons be prepared for disappointment. Fill out a form and then register at the counter. I'm been registered for ten years but that account doesn't work with digital coupons 😕

Pretty sad that on 1/19/2024 at 530pm that me and the very pregnant cashier had to bag all my groceries while 2 women stood behind the customer service desk. They claimed to be helping a customer, but it did not take both of them. One of them should have helped out. The red headed lady behind the service desk was extremely rude when I mentioned to her she should help out. Lazy and poor customer service.

Wonderful, clean place to do your shopping at.Evryone there is so helpful,and cheerful.I went here yesterday for my covid shot,The lady who performed the procedure was very nice and informative.And it didn't even hurt that much.They Always have fresh fruit, And Eat a lot of fruits and Vegetables. Way to go fresh market.

Edit: I went in today and they’ve got new shopping carts. Which should be a good thing, but my 2.5 year old can’t sit in them. She’s very tall for so her age and between the store directory taking up space on the front and the very small leg holes, she can’t sit in the cart. I can imagine how difficult this will make it for other parents with multiple children, or who need to bring the bucket car seat inside with them. I’m not a fan of letting her loose in the store, so I’m going to have to drive out to other stores just so i can shop safely.-Original Review-I'm not the biggest fan of the remodel, the new layout makes you have to backtrack a lot. The prices are also higher than other stores like Target, but it is the only option for this area of Caledonia. You can go into Middleville, or drive out to Gaines. So that is a bummer, but it is what it is.That being said, you do still get the small town experience. The people who work there are generally kind and helpful, and during my time working there [three years ago, it's been awhile] I met a lot of amazing people. They have also started carrying more local, and diverse items. I am able to find some ingredients that I previously could only get online or by driving all the way into GR, so that's awesome. I do appreciate the expanded gluten free options as well, as a lot of my family members are not able to have wheat, barley, or rye.Overall, it could be better, but it could be a whole lot worse. I just don't go in when it's busy, because the customers are a whole different story.

It's the main place I shop because the meat/seafood counter is great. I like to pick out my meat. The produce is great and there's a good selection. The deli carries a wide variety of cheese, lunch meat and take home food. My only issue is that if something is on sale, they are frequently out of it. The staff is friendly. Recently remodeled. They now carry a great variety of specialty ingredients.

Don't expect their Power carts for the Mobility-Challenged customers to work consistently. Many times I have used one that shows fully charged when I get on it in the front area only to have the battery die before reaching the meat case. Only one of the three carts seems to work consistently.

Had interview with store director that was very nice. Observed her interactions with her employees and how she talked to people was completely impressed. I have managed several thousand people and she was totally professional with them and myself. She seems like a person in would enjoy working for and with.

Moved to the area in August. I have heard great things about D&W. I gave it the benefit of the doubt for awhile but I find myself having worse experiences every time I go into this location. I say “hi” or a “pardon me” and get little to no response from the produce employees to the butcher. There is one nice women at the check out but the others are rude and impolite. The self checkout is terrible. And one of the employees just criticized me for how I was placing things on the belt. Had to be helped 4 times this last time. I will not recommend this location to anyone. I spend a lot of money on groceries every week and I will be taking my business elsewhere. Was hoping this was going to be a enjoyable shopping experience. You need to teach your employees what that looks like!

I don't shop here often, but I was impressed the last time I did!This location was very clean, organized and I recall the produce dept. looking all extra!OH! I just recalled I have glass milk and cream bottles to return for my deposit. And to get more fresh milk and cream, of course! ;)

They remodled this store recently. It's still a great local store with nice produce, bakery, gas station, starbucks inside, deli, and full service meat dept. The bakery makes nice cakes for special occasions. The employees are very helpful and kind. They do need to have a better coffee selection, there is no self serve bulk coffee bin. They are also lacking a good cosmetics section. The prices are reasonable, but are a bit more than meijer.

Great grocery store for a small town. They have everything you need and more (Starbucks). The ladies in the bakery/deli are friendly and helpful! Its clean and well organized. I gave it a 4 only because sometimes sale items are not stocked on Saturday afternoons and it can be a bit pricey if items are not on sale!

High prices, low quality brands. It's always freezing in the store! Different prices between store and gas station. They're slowly replacing name brands with their own brand which is much lower quality. They keep stocked in dog food but wet food for cats is always empty. They don't keep stocked up on gallon water jugs of purified and distilled water.The employees are always friendly and helpful! The pharmacy staff go above and beyond the call of duty; they're fantastic!

Staying out of town for a week.I googled grocery store near me.I chose D&W because such a section foods; deli, fresh produce, store lighting also great.I live in Battle Creek, we don't have the "D&W", I occasionally go to Kalamazoo to shop.

Terrible produce, expired deli products, no booze selection, slow staff. Literally faster to drive to the meijer 10 minutes away to get one item than going here.I agree with Carrie down in the comments with how rude the staff is, not to mention during a pandemic when I do go through self checkout, they insist to come over and touch the product I went out of my way to scan myself.

Lousy customer service. Phone in on hold for 20 minutes. People waiting at the CS counter for manager. Highest prices in GR area and service is less than poor. Seems to be a trend in brick and mortar stores. I usually avoid this store at all costs but it is so convenient in my afternoon travels home. Called ahead to get baked chicken for the wife as was recommended by the deli previously.. Not the first time this has happened so stayed on hold just to see how long before deli would pick up...20 minutes later, enter the store.....go the deli...only 2 hour old fried chicken available. Even the cashier confirmed that deli never picked up the forwarded call. He said I could wait in line for a manager like the others..............not even a "I'm sorry" from him.......my point is that this is becoming the norm. Not just with this store but in the majority of retail stores as well. Where do they get off with the highest prices and not so "fresh" groceries and do nothing to earn it?

I really prefer shopping here to say, Meijer. It is so much less busy that it is a much more peaceful shopping experience. Also you can pretty much always get a close parking spot. I think I've only had to wait in line to checkout a handful of times. The selection is a bit more limited, but I'll put up with that for the other benefits. I really like the self checkout area - there are lots of options for bags in various sizes, both paper and plastic. The bathrooms are clean. There are a couple of things that bother me. One is that certain items fail to scan pretty much every time and I have to wait for someone to come take care of it. I feel like this should get fixed faster. Also, I buy fruit cups for work and the shelf is always sticky. I mentioned it in a survey once and they cleaned it up but months have gone by and it's back to being perpetually sticky again.

Only place in I can get a full Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner package. I go to the deli counter, it's all packaged for me, and up to register I go. No walking up and down the aisles aimlessly.
