I have used Jen to watch our dog at least a dozen times in the last few years. EVERY SINGLE EXPERIENCE has been 5 stars. There are a few things people should note.1. This is a pet boarding facility at some ones house in their fenced in back yard. Your dog will get dirty, and if people would take the time to ask about it ahead of time, Jen is 100% up front about it. She even told me "I'd have her groomed after her stay, she'll likely get dirty playing outside." I appreciated that and set up an appointment in advance of me getting back.2. You're not paying Jen to wash your dog. That's ridiculous, for the price if you're expecting that you're unreasonable.3. My dog has always enjoyed her stay and been well cared for when I go to pick her up. People who say their dog was not well cared for either, didn't communicate properly to Jen, or had unrealistic expectations.All in all, I have taken our dog to other places, this is the best place I've used. Jen is flexible, caring, and always communicates. For a no nonsense experience at a fair price, look no further. If I could give her 10 stars I would.

My dog has been going to Jenny’s for the past 5 years. As most people, my dog is a member of my family. When I’m out of town, I NEVER worry that Piper isn’t having the time of her life, and never question if she isn’t getting the attention she needs. While most boarding companies charge an extra fee for one on one play time, Piper gets to play all day long. It’s where dogs can be dogs! Jenny is always available and flexible. She never hesitates to help me out on a moments notice. There have even been times when I needed advice and she always responds no matter what. I know to my core that Jenny might be the only other person in the world that loves my dog as much as I do, and to me, you just can’t put a price on that. She is truly a wonderful and selfless person and her care for the dogs in her is immediately evident. Words really can’t express how much she has helped over the years and how wonderful her business is. I can’t recommend her enough!

Our first time boarding was a nightmare. While it was conveniently located and we looked into the reviews, we decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. For starters she dictated how to talk to our dog around her. When we can pick her up to not interfere with her time. We brought her over for the weekend Friday to Sunday. She takes apoquel twice a day for her allergies as well as sent special diet food of which she gave her none. When picking her up she had sores on all four of her paws as well on her back leg which we have pictures of. She was extremely dehydrated and can't even get up to walk. She had the nerve to say she's not welcomed back. I would spend 3 times the price to have someone else to board her. She was full of mud and feces. Just got back from the vet which gave her antibiotics and pain killers. Pay attention to the reviews because the negative ones are 100 percent true. She should be ashamed to even call herself a pet lover. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra money to a more reputable place.

I rarely write reviews. But this place is awesome! If your looking for a place where your dog can be a dog and have fun then this is it! Jenny is wonderful with our good boy and you can tell she has a passion for the dogs she cares for. He is always super excited once we turn down Clyde Park and jumps out of the car and runs right up to the front door to see all his doggy friends. People leaving reviews about a little mud on their dog at pick up.. give me a break! I love to see it and know he was out having fun!

Update: We've used Byron center pet boarding exclusively since 2020 for both our dogs, and Jenny has been nothing but wonderful and accommodating towards our dogs' needs! They come back stinky and dirty, but I LOVE this because I know they got to play and run around outside and be DOGS! They get excited every time we pull up the driveway, which is such a good sign. I know they're well cared for here!Jenny has been nothing but fantastic both times we've boarded our puppy Odin! She's very good at communicating with us, has responded very fast to any questions or requests and I can tell our puppy has a great time when he's there! She's very reasonable with rates as well! We highly recommend her!!

I love sending our dog to Jeanette! He has a lot of energy and this is the perfect place for him to go either for the day or for when we are out of town. She is so thoughtful with how she cares for the dogs in her care. Once we found Byron Center Pet Boarding we have not sent Dash any where else. We could not recommend her highly enough!

I use BCPB for daycare and boarding on a regular basis for my hound dog. He has been going there since he was a puppy and is now 5 yo. I would say that Jen is an "animal person" who has created a great environment/setting for my dog and the other pets she cares for. They have plenty of outdoor time and space for play and the security/structure they need to be comfortable in a home away from home. It's really good to know that when I need to leave town without my pets,or they need some play time with others, they are well cared for at BCPB.

My golden lab Brody has been going since 2015. Brody absolutely loves going and has stayed as long as a month. Jenn has a beautiful large yard for him to play! She makes sure they get outside and plenty of exercise! Jenn takes extra care if medication is needed and she takes great care of Brody! Brody is one happy dog while he’s there!

Jenny was super nice and welcoming to our yellow lab! She has severe anxiety and we have never put her in day care before. She came back super excited and even better than when we dropped her off❤️ Thank you for taking her in on a holiday! Prices are great too!

Jen was an absolute delight and was SO accommodating to our needs and our dog's needs. I have a 8 month old golden retriever puppy who I was very nervous to leave for a couple days... Jen was so helpful with explaining how her pet boarding works and definitely eased my concerns and fears about leaving my baby with her! I love that my dog was able to play all day outside and socialize. Many of the pet boarding places I have looked at keep the dogs in kennels... but not BC boarding. Love it. I would highly recommend to anyone needing daycare or boarding for their dog.

We boarded our 4 month old puppy here for 10 days. Had measured out the amount of food needed for those days, and he came home with the container still half full. We didn't get his dog bed or toy back (but didn't realize until we were already home). He was filthy and smelly. He had a vet checkup the day before we boarded him, and a stool sample that all came back clean. The day after he was brought home, he had severe diarrhea that didn't stop for days, so we had to bring him to the vet again. He contracted Giardia and Coccidia while there. Before boarding him, he was gaining 5lbs a week. He was there 10 days, and lost 1lb.

We LOVE Byron Center Pet Boarding and our dog has been going for 5 years now! Jen is great and cares deeply for every animal in her care. She’s extremely accommodating & we love that Sampson can burn off some energy, play with friends and, occasionally, stay overnight when needed. I don’t know what we would do without her! My husband and I bring our 2 y/o chocolate lab here frequently. So far there has always been room for her and I don’t feel like there’s too many dogs that it becomes unsafe. Jen does a great job of keeping track of which dogs are inside and outside. My dog loves it here! She nearly rips my arm off by her leash whenever I drop her off because she’s trying to run to play with her friends.

I am so impressed with the care and boarding home that Jenny and family provide. We have been bringing our lab puppy there and it has helped his social training and I know he feels like it is his second home.We just got his first flu shot under Jenny’s advice and our vet agrees with the influenza becoming so prominent.5 Stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Jen is first off, the most pleasant person to deal with. Her boarding design of letting the dogs safely run free is awesome! I highly recommend her for your boarding needs and remember - dogs boarded may have slight tummy aches due to stress and munching on other dogs food - it happens and only lasts a day or so . AND if they are a bit dirty on pick up —- that means they had fun!!! 5 stars! Thx jen for being awesome.

We had a last minute emergency and had some place for our guinea pigs to go. Jen was awesome and took great care of our pigs! I didn't worry about them for a minute! It was so affordable. We were really pleased. :)

We typically board our dogs at our vet and each experience has been wonderful, which is why this experience has been a night mare.When we picked our two small dogs up, they smelled awful. We thought nothing of it until we realized that our one dog was nonstop vomiting and had bloody diarrhea. We monitored her closely throughout the evening on Saturday after pick up and into Sunday. On Sunday, when we felt this experience was not just a fluke, we contacted Jenny, to which she replied this was a typical side effect of boarding and that it even happens to her dog and probably wasn't an emergency situation which would require immediate medical attention and could wait until Monday morning. When we washed the blanket in our dog's crate we quickly realized it was covered in throw up and immediately bathed both dogs.Fast forward to Monday, our dog is still vomiting and having diarrhea and we rush her into the vet. She was so severely dehydrated that her body was now in acute kidney failure and she needed to be admitted for 48 hours of IV fluids and extensive testing. Our vet told us if we had waited any longer our dog probably would have not made it.On Tuesday morning, we noticed our other dog was experiencing similar symptoms so we took her into the vet's office. She, too, was severely dehydrated and had lost approximately 2 pounds (only weighed 8.5 to start). This dog also needed 48 hours of IV fluids and extensive testing.We have no idea how long our one dog was vomiting or having diarrhea while being at Byron Center Pet Boarding, but given the condition of their cage, we believe it was happening for at least a day or two. We also received no notification while on our trip that our dogs were not eating or drinking, which is very abnormal for them, according to Jenny though, very common.All in all, we and our vet find it strange that both dogs came home with such severe dehydration and weight loss. We feel like this could have been prevented with close monitoring of diet and bathroom habits, as well as, being notified of their condition throughout their stay.To say we are disappointed in this experience would be an understatement.What ends up being even more disappointing is Ms. Covender's response to our honest review. She places blame on us. Stating the reason our dogs become ill is because we had them in a cage that is too small. Which is the farthest from the truth. Our dogs typically sleep in their cage together, by choice. Both dogs can stand up and move around within this cage. The reason that we asked the girls to be separated from the other dogs is because we felt that the kitchen where Ms. Covender housed approximately 8-10 large breed dogs was not a safe condition for our two small dogs (7 and 13 pounds). The owner's response to this review that it is requirement for dogs to be well socialized is indeed false. Her website states that it is preferred but she understands that some dogs prefer humans to their four-legged peers and in that case, she is happy to give them plenty of one on one time. But according to her, our dogs were in a crate all day. Ms. Covender also claims that our dog "soiled" her crate, when it was indeed vomit. Her website states that she will provide clean bedding when necessary however, our dog's crate was outside when my husband picked them up. Probably due to the overwhelming smell.Ms. Covender's response to our review also states that our dogs were eating because she cleaned and replenished food. However, we have text evidence that when we asked what our dog's eating habits were like (because we were trying to figure out how long she had been ill for) Ms. Covender's response was "all dog's have been off their food because of the heat". That makes me assume they were not eating or didn't eat much.Overall, her desire to place blame rather than being concerned for our dog's welfare speaks volume of her character.

It is nice to leave your dog with someone who makes it feel like a home rather than a stuffy boarding facility. For a reasonable price you get flexibility and a pup that will always come home worn out from playing with friends. Daycare and overnight offerings that I have yet to have any issues with.

My dogs came back with wounds and very dehydrated. Apparently it was my digs fault. Will not return would not recommend. Owner very guarded of her property, very unwilling to open the door or even let me inside. I feel bad for allowing her to care for my dogs.

Our vizsla/coonhound mix, Porter, LOVED LOVED LOVED being at Byron Center Pet Boarding. We were a little afraid he wouldn't want to come home. He loved being able to run and run and run in the LARGE fenced in area and playing with all the other dogs. The only thing he loved more than running is Jenny (and maybe eating his kibble :D)

We had to board two Guinea Pigs for a couple weeks while we were on vacation and were glad there was someone in the area to take them. The business owner was very friendly and easy going and the prices were more than fair. I have recommended this place to others and will definitely be back.

I've tried another boarder for overnight but our cavalier king charles spaniel does so much better with Jenny. She is personable, kind and I know that my dog is in good hands with her.
