Dr. Kurt is an empathic, logical, and a wonderful vet. Our nearly 15 year old lab was inappropriately diagnosed by a downstate vet with a “cracked tooth”, in reality, he had a bone cancer in his mouth - which Dr. Kurt was quick to identify. We proceeded with the surgery to have the mass removed, knowing that it likely would come back. Dr. Kurt was straightforward and did not lead us to have inappropriately high expectations. The cancer did return quickly. However, because of Dr. Kurt our best guy was able to gain two months of life full of high quality memories and many dips in the lake. He eventually suffered a stroke. Dr. Kurt came out to the lake to help him transition to heaven on the shore of what I imagine his heaven will look like. I’m forever grateful that our guy made his transition to heaven with a vet who cares deeply for animals.We are dog people and will eventually find another, and when we do, I cannot imagine taking the dog to anyone other than Dr. Kurt.

We have been taking our Bernese Mountain Dog to Lake Street Vet for 6 years. At 11.5 years old his body was failing and it was time for him to go to doggie heaven. Dr Kurt came out to the house to end Tanzen’s pain. Dr Kurt was awesome and made the process as good as possible. We will always be in his debt for helping us through this difficult decision. Thanks Dr Kurt.

My dog started vomiting on a Friday 3 hours before a blizzard was supposed to hit our area. The clinic immediately made time for me to bring her in -- provided a thorough exam and medication that has brought improvement within 24 hours. Appreciate their courtesy and professionalism. The vet even apologized that I had to "wait" while she comforted a grieving pet mom on the phone.

Blood test was done and results were ready in 15 minutes. Vet was supposed to call me with results and let me know if I should increase dosage for my cat. That was before 4pm Thursday and it's now Sunday afternoon, still no response. Obviously I will call Monday for results. Certainly not what I expected for the amount of money they charged.

The very best place you can take your fur fam for care. My goofball GSPs have a bull-in-a-china-shop tendency to hurt themselves, and whenever they have or whenever needing care for anything else- the staff here always makes you feel confident you’re in good hands. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, they’ve helped my boys so many times and they always have received near instant relief for whatever their visit is for. Staff are very personable and informative. Doctor is thorough and shares multiple options for interventions, preferring “less is better”. Office and exam rooms are always clean and lobby is big enough to avoid contact among pets if not wanted.
