Family Fare market used to be called Glenn's. We have been going there for years. It's a great market! Well-stocked, well-run, fast check out hardly ever a wait and clean. It's right off the highway and easy to find. I believe exit 282 turn right at the ramp and then right again right away you can't miss it. We stop here and stock up before we go to Lake Louise (also known as Thumb Lake) when we take our Jeep wranglers or snowmobiles (in the winter) for super fun off-road excursions. It's our go-to-market.Before you shop there make sure and sign up for the family fare club. A lot of these clubs don't make much difference at checkout however this one does. It saved us $46 last time.They have a great breakfast goods section with croissants muffins and all kinds of other yummy things. They have a big produce section with lots of fresh produce. Their meats are excellent also. They carry many sugar-free products including Atkins snacks and sugar-free Breyers ice cream. (If you are watching your blood sugar.) They also carry beer wine and liquor so you don't have to make an extra stop if you need liquor. They also have a section of nine grocery items that could even save you another stop depending on what you need.Even though it's not Glenn's anymore Family Fare has remade this classic landmark and I think it's actually much better than it used to be. This is coming from a former employee. Don’t buy the produce unless you like mold :) the back produce room smelled of it the entire year+ duration of my employment. Also under the shelves are nastyyy. Most of my corworkers were nice but the store director was sketchy. Do what you will with this information I bet they’re gonna delete my review anyway

Don't shop here if you can avoid it - old, rotting produce at full price! High prices for low quality, unhealthy, and very limited options. None of their self checkouts had been sanitized!

Reasonable selection of produce on most days, baked goods and grocery line. Nice, local employees - many from the Glen’s days and a mini “store within a store” Starbucks Coffee ta boot!” But, pricing is wrong here - it’s too high. In general, I try to avoid shopping here because I feel that this store has a captive, older population to serve here in Boyne City. Without competition, the local, older population, with limited financial means and transportation, has no choice but to pay the higher prices here than found in larger, big box grocery stores, in the neighboring communities of Gaylord and Petoskey.July 29, 2022- Update…. “Always at your service” except after 8pm on a Friday evening… Family went in to purchase Michigan Mega Millions lottery ticket on evening of a large drawing. Service window where tickets are sold and is promoted that “always at your service” was CLOSED.

Out of town for baseball tournament, feel bad for people that live in this area all year long. Employees were great!!! But the prices wow thought I was in the big city, twice as much as any store I've ever been. Taking advantage of being the only store in town. With that said everything we bought was good just expensive.

Service desk was incredibly rude, got upset we decided to buy red bags there. The Starbucks employees didn't speak to us and it took 4 of them to make two drinks and it still took forever. Terrible customer service. The Starbucks employees were too busy talking to each other to even notice customers. Wish I could take my tip back.

A Spartan store, will have most everything you need. Great for out of town visitors who don't want to spend a fortune eating at an expensive downtown district!

Drive through is closed most of the time, rude staff. Call to see if prescription is ready, pharmacist is rude and get hung up on. It doesn't matter how nice you are to these people, it's a constant bad experience.

I always have a problem finding a decent parking spot because the store is almost always busy. They don't have enough of the smaller carts because out of ten times I have only found one once and the store isn't busy enough for that to happen. The smaller carts aren't collecting space in the parking lot either.The starbucks within the store was very disappointing. My cappuccino was so badly made that I had to throw it out because it made me very nauseous. Including my tip, I literally threw away $10. I will never order from the starbucks again.

Simple advice do not use a self-checkout because you'll stand there until your next birthday before someone comes and helps you if you need help. Also, not much better because they only have one line open if you go to regular checkout. All in all you might want to look for somewhere else to shop if you're in a hurry

This store has a good selection of foods, pharmacy, etc. Went here a few times when we stayed at Boyne Mountain Resort. It is about a 10 minute drive from the resort.

We shopped at this supermarket multiple times while vacationing in Boyne City. The staff was friendly and helpful!I accidentally left my prescription glasses in the store the day before we left for home. After calling a couple of other shops we had visited in search of my missing glasses, I gave Family Fare a call. By this point we were hours away from the store on our way back home. Shirley went out of her way to mail my glasses back to my house! Thank you Family Fare! I appreciate your kindness!!

You only get a "regular" price with one of their discount cards. If you're a tourist, you pay their inflated price, just like some of the restaurants who have a menu for locals and another for tourists.

The pharmacy closes their drive through window way WAY too early, before the pharmacy even closes. Also, the woman at the counter was very rude when I asked her to please look for a lower price on the meds saying I came at a bad time and she had no time (I was the only one in line).

If I could put less than a zero for a rating on the store I would, the gray-haired senior citizen that thinks he’s attractive is a Putz with a big mouth. Cannot believe he would treat any customer the way he did I didn’t buy anything but to say the things he did was extremely ridiculous and rude ended up leaving without purchasing anything quite frankly waited for over five minutes for someone to take an order at Starbucks and when I asked if there was anybody working at Starbucks he was so ridiculously rudeit was shameful of a man his age. Disgusted!

Sale prices are good...but most of the items don't ring up at the posted prices. Of the 7 items I purchased with sale prices posted on the shelves, only 3 actually rang up on sale. The rest were each $1 to $3 higher than expected.

This place used to be a Glen's Market and we were very pleased when shopping here when it was Glen's. I haven't noticed any real notable changes since the changeover. Still a great selection of items to purchase at fair prices with kind and helpful staff. The nice thing about places like Family Fare is that they don't try to be something that they are not. If I want a Target I will go to a Target thank you very much Kroger.

Of all of the grocery stores we've visited during our travels across the US, this easily tops the list of 'the worst' for more reasons than I care to detail.In short... The produce, terrible. Literally with rotting items sitting on the shelf. Vegan options, very few. Cleanliness of the store, not great. Expired items on the shelves, abundant. Prices, outrageous. Staff, unengaged and marginal at best.All of this is an abundantly clear representation of the leadership of SpartaNash - from corporate... Right down to regional and store managers. As always, it starts at the top.. And yet, if you really want to make change, you start local. It's clear from the outside looking in, that local leadership is bidding their time and are anything but committed to change.Residents of Boyne have been complaining about this store for years with zero change. So they drive to Petoskey to go to Meijer or Walmart instead.Their mission statement on their website says "... We see a day when our customers say, “I can’t live without them.”" Seems to me, the people of Boyne can't stand to live with them.

Great store about 10 minutes from Boyne mountain. Well stocked deli and meat departments, including Italian cold cuts (copa, prosciutto, and salami). Nice beer, wine, and liquor selection.
