Nice people, great selection and great food. We got burgers and ribs to grill and tried a lot of their jerky selection. All excellent. They have a nice grocery full of Michigan products. Fun candy selection for kiddos too.

The absolute best burgers, filets and jerky I've ever purchased!The hillbilly jerky is my family's favorite, and all their burgers are delicious!!Of all the meat markets I've ever purchased from, this one is hands down #1!! Too bad it's 900 miles from where I live, but when I'm in town, I always buy in bulk and bring it home. Maybe I'll get lucky one day and they'll start shipping!

Been coming here for jerky and steaks for the past 20 years. Have yet to find better quality meat. Great selection of seasonings and rubs as well. I have also brought many deer here for processing, fast turn around and great quality.

Best meat within 100 miles, maybe more. I grill in all seasons and I find the best cuts of my favorite stakes for grilling at the meat shack.

A trip to the cabin isn’t started properly unless a stop to the Meat Shack is made. Been going here for at least 2 decades and don’t see a reason to go anywhere else. Excellent meat counter, world class jerky, and friendly staff. Don’t sleep on the jalapeño cheese snack sticks or pepper garlic flat jerky, nothing compares!

Their meats are definitely top notch here, especially their blueberry breakfast links. My only reason for 3 stars is it seems like nobody working there wants to be there. Maybe they need a day off or something but there aren't any smiling faces and seem like it's a bit of an inconvenience to wait on customers. Wasn't always this way, but last few times I've stopped.

While visiting the area we kept driving by the Meat Shack. Curious, we stopped in to check it out and immediately gravitated to the jerky counter. Greeted by a very friendly and helpful man, he helped us decide what was best for us. He shared useful information about best sellers and what each one was. Based on our discussion we left with some chicken jerky and some beef jerky. Also some smoked salmon. We have been snacking on it all weekend and I can say thats some great product at The Meat Shack and would recommend them to everyone passing by and have a look. The staff is super friendly! You won't be sorry...

Very sad. Last 2 times tried to take my deer here they were not accepting deer due to being understaffed. ☹️ .

Took my sons first deer there. Very confusing on cut instructions. They lost the deer and when we got it back it was all cut wrong. The jerky was not seasoned and tasted raw. Was not impressed for the money I spent. Will never go and wouldn't recommend at all. Also called and was told that they misplaced a few deer and owner would call me. Instead I got told I got what I asked for and its my problem not theirs.

This little gem is a must for every adventure we take north. The jerky is hands down best in the state. Staff is always friendly, helpful and attentive. My family looks forward to stopping by and stocking up every time we are near.

Was working in the area stopped in for a steak. Got some of there cheddar burgers. Cooked them in my sous vide at 135 for an hour and a half. Then seared them in butter. Wish I bought more patties. So good. Give them A try. They fella behind the counter was really helpful. Thanks for the tasty meet.

1st time visiting the Meat Shack. Was more then worth the ride from Evart! We will be buying all our meat here now. Staff and owner were all very polite, and knowledgeable. Prices are very good for the area too. Thanks for all the help we received today!

Such an amazing meat store. From jars of jellies and jams to some amazing fresh meat. This store has the nicest and kind owners with a great attitude. Definitely if you are going camping or just grilling this is the store to go to.

Best meat around. Was able to get in on their Labor Day smoked ribs. Very tasty and the staff goes out of their way to be helpful on a very busy weekend!! Best ground beef I've ever tasted . . . a burger that tastes like a filet!! And speaking of filets, Meat Shacks filets + my grill were better than most restaurant filets! You won't be disappointed with these folks!

The jerky and meats are great! Quality for sure! The only reason for the 3 stars instead of 5 is because they are WAY over priced on EVERYTHING! For that reason alone we probably won't be by that often and even then probably just for the jerky...

We were lucky enough to be at the Meat Shack when the ribs came off the smoker. Bought a rack to take home, by far the best ribs we've ever eaten!Hopefully, this is a regular event as we will schedule our up north trips around it.

Great customer service. First time we looked. After I looked at the reviews, i thought why not buy something. So my hubby and I stopped by yesterday and got the 3lb chuck roast and 10lbs of pork steak. We tried the pork steaks the very same night and oh my goodness it was heaven on a plate. I only had to use garlic salt (didn't make it salty suprisingly) and cooked it on the griddle. It was melt in your mouth good. It didn't dry out, you could literally see the juices rolling of the steak and pooling on the bottom of the plate. Im not a big fan of grease but it was not greasy at all. I would keep buying from here. My father in law (who doesn't eat much) ate two of these. And the steaks were by far not small. These guys were huge! Best way to describe it, steak was almost as long as the griddle. You could barely fit two on the griddle. You put it on a plate, it was going over the edge of the plate. I've bought Mackersies (barryton) pork steaks and these top those steaks. I will be buying my food (meat, seafood, jerky) from here for now on.

What a nice place they have seasonings and sauces and jerky and Hot shots oh a wide variety of meat ,venison and salmon and beef .good prices very very reasonable prices .nice staff, helpful --very clean store !and they accept EBT
