Rarely do I have an experience so good that my first thought upon leaving is “I’m going to write a review,” but here I am! This review is for multiple reasons. We got our pandemic pup frenchie from Teacups & Toys in 2020 and we had an excellent experience. Jeff, the owner, is so kind and knowledgeable, and Kim from teacups and toys called us on a regular basis for the first few weeks after we brought her home to make sure she was adjusting well, which truly was so above and beyond helpful. We always looked forward to talking to her!Over the years, we have brought her to several different groomers that were closer to our house out of convenience, and started realizing she would shake when we brought her and she seemed extremely anxious upon arriving wherever we brought her…with the exception of Teacups and Toys. She would run TOWARDS the door! They have a special way with dogs, and our groomer Mariah took such good care of her and made it a point to tell us how wonderful she was for her. She smells terrific, and Kathy went above and beyond to help us get an appointment. Their grooming services are BUSY, and you need to call well in advance to get an appointment, but it’s truly worth the wait for how they care for your dog. 100/10 recommend Teacups & Toys. Pics of her for puppy loving enjoyment from the day we got her, the day we brought her home, and today after she got groomed 🐶 ❤️!

Jeff is a remarkable owner and runs his boutique which is rare and extremely special. ‘Teacups and Toys’ reminds me of a fairy garden for puppies with hues and tones that are magical and relaxing. The energy is sweet with delicious treats and high quality food, clothing, collars, leashes, beds and outfits to boot! Whenever I am in town, I take my toy poodle to ‘Teacups and Toys’ and she is placed in the caring arms of Mariah our groomer there. Mariah has a wonderful energy about her and has been truly accommodating to our needs even when we want to try a different style! She is attentive and genuine. Thank you Jeff for providing our little one with a happy groom again and for your sincere care. ‘Teacups and Toys’ is a rare find in our great nation!

If I can give this place zero stars, I would. Do not bring your dog here to be groomed. They lack professionalism. Especially the owner Jeff. I’m not one to complain, but the cut my dog was given was not what i wanted at all, and they had no regard in trying to make it better. The owner has no sympathy, and will have an attitude with you when you express how you are not satisfied. Obviously mistakes happen, and at first i was just trying to let them know i was not happy with the cut. He had a nasty attitude, not good customer service at all. Then, when i asked for a refund, he refused. Don’t bring your pet here if you are looking for a 5 star service.

I cannot say enough good things about Teacups and Toys. We got our cockapoo from this store and the experience was wonderful. The owner, Jeff, is very knowledgeable and takes such good care of these pups!! Zach was amazing to work with, was so patient every time I went with my kids to visit our pup, answered all my questions (and my kids' questions!) and was very generous with his time and information (still IS when I reach out!). And the icing on the cake, Jeff's sister, Kim, calls you every night the first week and those calls made all the difference; her simple instructions made brining a pup home so easy! NOT to mention Jeff essentially crate trains them before you bring them home which means since night #1 our pup went right into his crate at lights out and woke up next morning--- maybe we got lucky but we had ZERO sleepless nights!!! ALSO, one misunderstanding is this store is overpriced however I did not find this to be the case at all and Jeff really is quite reasonable in his pricing. I would highly recommend this store if you are looking to bring home a puppy!!

Th staff are amazing. They take great care of the puppies. Good stock of toys, gear, and food. I have not tried the grooming personally.

My wife and I got our puppy here (gorgeous toy poodle). The staff is amazing. Mikey is super sweet and caring. You can appreciate that he and Jeff (the owner) really love their puppies and they all go above and beyond to help. When eventually we got to bring our dog home Jeff spent an hour going over a very extensive checklist for new owners. Jeff's sister Kim called us twice a day for a week to make sure our puppy would be transitioning fine. We had a pretty good experience and in the price of the puppies are included plenty of services.

Ive been bringing my pup here for over a year and absolutely love Teacups and Toys!! Dawn is the best groomer and always does an amazing job! Couldnt recommend enough

This is a cute store for smaller dogs. I was having trouble finding a harness for my puppy, so this was the store suggested as they carry smaller sizes than a regular pet store. (Although since then, I've notice mini sections in Petsmart). The people were really nice and helpful and showed me around the store. I ended up buying a nice harness and they gave me some pet food to try as I was searching for something for him. I understand a boutique is going to cost more, however, I went on Chewy a few days later and found the same harness for over $10 cheaper. Plus they referred me to a vet who has taken financial advantage of me and subsequently my mother-in-law. Not sure I would use their recommendations.

We picked up our cockapoo about 9 months ago. Mikey was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable, and gave us great advise about training our puppy. The advise we received made the puppy stages much easier. Our veterinarian was very impressed with the breeding that had gone into our puppy. Very healthy and very well mannered. Highest of recommendations to the group.carl

I've been Here quite a few times now, & when looking for something for my little dog that's going to last, I'll be going here again! Yes, the price is more than what you would pay at your local chain per store. BUT, this is a "boutique" and not a chain store, it's a small local business with a good selection of high quality items! Also, the employees here are by far, what makes this place so great to visit! They are super knowledgeable, and are more than willing to help you find whatever it is your looking for, even if that means finding it somewhere else than their shop to help serve you & your pet! When I came here for the first time with my new puppy I ended up staying in there with him for about 45min! They were quick to answer all my questions & even sent my little guy off with a brand new puppy toy for free, & a few samples of treats for him to help figure out which ones we liked best without having to buy them all full size! They can also order items for you that they don't currently have in stock for you. There is no such thing is this type of customer service at any chain pet store in this state! The chain store employees usually have a "I hate this job" air to them, whereas at this boutique you get the feeling that they actually enjoy the job they are doing here! Overall I cannot say enough great things about this little shop! Yes, you're going to pay a little more than a chain store, but again when it comes to quality you get what you pay for! I would much rather spend 1-2$ more for an item that is going to last for years, than save those couple dollars for a cheaper quality version of that item that I know won't last! I hope this review helps at least one of you reading this on making the decision whether or not to swing by & at least check it out! I did, & I obviously am glad I did!

I have frequented this store for pet accessories and always loved it and a family member recently got a puppy from them. Beautiful dog, well mannered. No complaints there. What I have an issue with is when she brought her dog who she grooms regularly to Teacups and Toys to get a grooming and they cut part of his ear off and then tried to pretend that they didn't. Let me reiterate the groomer CUT PART OF THE DOG'S EAR OFF.Then it just got stupider: the groomer said it would grow back--well that's not how science works. The owner didn't apologize and hasn't offered to pay for the subsequent vet bills for the dog or make any type of amends. He obviously doesn't have his dogs' or customers' best interests in mind and that's disappointing and I feel bad for the dog. He is now skittish, doesn't like being touched and is more fearful of people since this happened. I'm super disappointed in how this business owner handled this issue.

My dog was recently CUT by the groomer named Lexie while being shaved down at Teacups & Toys in Birmingham, MI. We picked my puppy up after his appointment and noticed that he was very sad/calm/skittish when we got home. He was laying in his bed not moving at all which was very abnormal for a hyper, energetic toy poodle puppy. We (my boyfriend and I) examined him and found a laceration DIRECTLY down his hairline on his stomach which split open and required SURGERY under anesthesia to repair! The vet bill was $900 which the groomer CHOSE not to cover at all. I do NOT recommend this place in any way. I do not and WOULD not trust them with my animal. I have photo proof of the laceration that my baby suffered as a result of going to this groomer 😭

I have called this place twice inquiring on puppies and both times the owner (Jeff) answered and was unnecessarily rude. These puppies are too expensive for the owner to discuss with people in the manner he does it’s very dismissive. I informed him of wanting a puppy a certain size (for health travel reasonings) and he told me “he wasn’t the place for me if I’m that specific on a puppy and I shouldn’t judge a child in that manner” when children can’t be bought and don’t cost up to $4000 ....

Yesterday, the female Staff that answered phone was kind and took my contact info for Owner to return my call. Later that eve, we visited store and was advised to come back because owner was out and a family also in store was awaiting his return. I was assured Owner returns calls after closing. It's a day later and still no return call. Thank you but no thanks.😳

I like the store the last review was just wrong. It is Birmingham DAH things cost more if you want cheap and tacky go to Petsmart. It is small and cute Thats what makes it.
