I've been going to a walk in the woods for many years. My shih tzu Stanley just loves his Teresa and the owner is great too. I have no worries when I drop him off for his hair appointment as they treat him like one of their own. We won't go anywhere else, so if I have to wait for an appointment that's what we do.

I took my dog to get her nails trimmed. The groomer was awesome. The people at the desk didn’t want to be bothered with me and my dog. Just making change irritated them. Eye rolling because I asked questions. If they treat me poorly how would they treat my dog when I’m not there? I won’t go back.

Took my yorkie back for the first time in several years. New management has it back to the wonderful place it used to be. He comes out happy and prancing around and looking so good. As did his best friend!!

I had a family emergency that happened on a weekend. I called after they were closed on a Saturday, and left a message explaining my situation. Someone called me back within the hour and said they would come in on Sunday morning for us ( they don't normally take pets for boarding on Sunday), and they got him in without a problem. He was very happy when we picked him up, and they were very very easy to work with and kind. In addition, it cost about half what we were expecting. We will definitely be back!

I have seen good reviews about this place but they were very rude to my mom and me, and my dog is terrified after coming home from there. She will not go off of our porch when we let her outside or come out of the closet when she is inside, and she is NEVER like that after an appointment with her usual groomer. The only reason I booked here is because my usual place was booked for a few months. The grooming job was good, but very questionable service. I recommend going somewhere else.

We’ve been taking our dogs here for years while we take the kids to Splash Village. Good treatment of dogs, attentive of special requests, great overall doggy hotel. They have a groomer too, so you can get them a bath and a trim during their stay. The “spa” treatment during their doggy vacation! Near I-75, Frankenmuth, and Birch Run.

They are absolutely wonderful. They do our grooming and kennel our fur babies. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. We’ve been with them for 14 years, through past ownership and new, and the quality of service is wonderful. My dogs aren’t young anymore, and we have medication and joint issues to deal with, and they are fantastic with them. They are always impeccably groomed and well taken care of. I can’t recommend them enough.

We had our two Therapy Dogs stay here last week. The proprietor, Evie provided a lovely and clean environment for our golden retriever and black lab. The team carefully took notes on food preparation and medication administration for each canine. We were able to access the kennel area to see where our pets would be staying. It was well maintained and freshly scrubbed down, and they had elevated beds on the floor. Our dogs were clean and happy when we picked them up and we were extremely pleased and will definitely be returning. As a complete surprise and bonus, when we checked out we received a special new client discount! I would definitely recommend this business!

We have been talking our Mini-Daschund here off and on since she was 6 months old. We love it! When our dog was 6 months old, we were new puppy parents and concerned about her first boarding experience. The staff called us at different intervals to update us on how our puppy was doing, even giving her a little extra-special treatment! And it's been a happy place for Brandy (our fur daughter) ever since! We are from the Detroit area, and it's a perfect spot to board her along the way if we are traveling somewhere that doesn't allow pets. We would highly recommend A WALK IN THE WOODS KENNEL for boarding services <3.

We have taken our dogs her to get groomed a couple of times and boarded them for an extended period once. The dogs always come back happy, healthy, and extremely well-groomed. There was a slight mix-up with scheduling as the receptionist was new but it was taken care of quickly!

I started going here about 6 years ago when my dog was a puppy. He is a Yorkie mix and so his fur never stops growing. The girl was new and gave me a good price to help her get her "hours" in. The cut was always a good one but never what I asked. After a few years I bought my own clipper kit and did it myself but there were a few times when I just didn't have the time, energy or patience, so I took him. I don't understand how they never take into account what I ask for, it seems they just do what ever they want. If you don't have a preference of how the dog is groomed, then this place is good.

They are a great place for any animal that is very animal oriented and taken care of well! They took in a beagle that had been dropped off and chased till she fell asleep in a garage!! She is being well taken care of by the owner and her family!! Thanks for doing what you do for the animals!!!!

I have not boarded my animals there. My rating is for my experience with Jody the groomer. Jody is so sweet and caring with our two toy poodles. She does an exceptional job with them. Everyone that we have encountered have been friendly as well.

We took our nine month old golden doodle to be groomed here 3 times. We have never been impressed. The third time we took him there the groomer was horribly rude and injured our dog's ears with a razor. So much so that when we brought him home there were several wounds in his ears and he did not even want to get out of the chair to play. We were not happy with the way our baby was mistreated and we will never go back!

Walk in the Woods LOST my daughters dog !!! Then the owner made it very clear she wasn't lowering herself to come back from 'her weekend away' to find her. After the dog was missing over 24 hours the kennel didn't answer their phones or call her. Seriously - you don't get to rest until you find your clients dog!! You don't get to casually call back when the mood strikes you.Thankfully through diligence on my daughters part she found her dog. After a heart wrenching 36 hours!!I get that accidents can happen but the kennel owner and staffs' heartless attitude is unforgivable. If you love your dog - board elsewhere.

The manager, Dawn, is not very compassionate about your pet. A friend recommended this kennel so I went to check it out. I explained that I would need to leave my pet at 9:30 am, though they don't open until 10am (very limited hours). Dawn told me she would let me leave my dog early. I got there to leave her at around 9:40am and Dawn said "we don't open until 10". Obviously she did not remember what she told me two weeks before. When I dropped my puppy off, I told her I would only be able to call and check on her Wed. and Thur. She said call any time. I tried calling ALL day Wednesday and the line was busy. Tried ALL day Thursday and it just rang and rang. Their phones were down due to a circumstance beyond their control. When I picked my dog up after leaving her for the first time anywhere, I told Dawn it would have been nice if they had called and left me a voice mail letting me know my puppy was okay and their phones were down. She said "I couldn't, the phones were down". I then said it would have been nice if someone had used their cell to call. Her RUDE and uncaring response was "I'm not using my cell minutes to call clients". And, for some reason, my puppy was bathed when I picked her up. Just wonder if she maybe had feces and/or urine in her fur. This was just MY experience, but my friend likes this place.

Its been hard finding a good groomer for my big sweet Rottweiler Nova. I could tell the few other places I took her were nervous around her even though she's such a happy dog that always has a smile on her face. I will absolutely continue to take her to Walk in the woods kennel & I'm really happy I finally found a good groomer!

We have used "Walk In the Woods" for many years. We had a black lab named "Maggie". The people at "Walk In the Woods" were so kind and good to Maggie. We knew she was in good hands when we left her, because she would jump out of our van and head straight for their door. She always looked good and was freshly groomed when we picked her up. "Walk In the Woods" far exceeds any other kennel that we have tried.

We boarded our dogs here this week. It was our first time at Walk in the Woods...we have used different boarding places in the past, but didn't get a good vibe from some of them (i.e. very inflexible pick-up time)Pricing is very reasonable and they give a discount on the second dog. I would use them again the next time we go out of town.

About 3 years ago when I dropped off my Toy Poodle at 12pm for a simple "Teddy Bear" Cut, We came back to pick him up at 3pm, got there... We said we were there for my dog. Their reaction " Come back at 4-5pm, You're dog is not ready".My little dog who hates being away from my family was at Walk In The Woods kept my dog for 5 HOURS!I do not go there any more...
