Switched to this pharmacy when I struggled to get my prescription filled elsewhere. They were extremely polite and professional. Kept me updated on my prescription and gave me suggestions on what may be easier to get. I'm very grateful. Great place.

Tried to fill a prescription and the pharmacist called me because they had a problem with the way my doctor wrote the prescription, when I suggested the pharmacist call my doctor she was very rude and told me to do it. After calling my doctor and getting him in touch with the pharmacist I went it to get my prescription, I was told it wasn’t ready and to come back in 15, I came back and was told it still wasn’t ready… finally after coming back again I was told that I had a mean tone on the phone and the pharmacist didn’t want to fill my prescription and it had been transferred to Grand Rapids to a different pharmacy I couldn’t get to until the next day. This prescription was a numbing cream for a painful dental condition that makes eating difficult and painful without it and I’ve now gone three days without my medication. Moral of the story be “nice” or you’ll be writing a review in pain at 3 in the morning waiting for the pharmacy 59 miles away to open the next day at 8 am.

Called for information on my medications and was put through to the pharmacist. He interuppted me twice as I was starting to ask my question. Super rude. Hung up on him. Changing my pharmacy now. The store also has a bunch of christian decor. Did not feel inclusive or welcoming.

I love using a small business for any and all of my needs in life, and this pharmacy is the perfect example of why! The second time I went into this location, the pharmacists and pharmacy technicians knew me by name and were a big part of making me feel welcome as a new member of the Big Rapids community! This store has a really nice selection of gift items in addition to the standard medical supplies. They even offer a short-term layaway plan year-round so I don't have to find a hiding place for upcoming birthday gifts!

To who ever work the drive through window this evening, she was extremely rude! As soon as she opened the window she made me feel as if I was a huge inconvenience! This will be the very last time I come here or recommend this place. I've have had other issues but let it be but tonight was absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional... and for what?

As a long time customer of Martz and Shapley/Hometown Pharmacy I am happy to give this business a 5 star rating. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. They keep me informed on my medications and any problems that might occur.The business also has a great selection of gifts, home decor and cards for everyone. There is also a good variety of home health care items available.

I love Home Town Pharmacy because they are always ready to assist you in every way they can. I was looking for a specific medical device so I called all the pharmacies in town checking to see if they actually had any in stock. home Town actually checked to see if they had the item and gave me their prices. I have been a customer of Hometown Pharmacy for many years and I absolutely love their service. Now in their newer building they also offer drive up service. I also shop in the store for gifts throughout the year and find items that I don't see anywhere else. Great store!

The best pharmacy around! Very helpful, pleasant, and eager to please staff. Convenient drive thru window. I arrived 5 minutes before closing time to drop off a prescription, all the while expecting to return the following day to pick it up since it was so close to closing time. The lovely young lady took my Rx, and I said, "I'll pick them up tomorrow because I'm sure there's no chance of getting my meds now since its 5 to close." She happily said they could fill it then and it would be about a 5 minute wait. Now, I don't know about other places, but I've yet to find ANY pharmacy that would be willing to fill prescriptions that close to closing time, let alone in 5 minutes! 😱 Keep up the good work Martz and Shapley! Beyond excellent customer service! 👌

Whenever I try to pick up my prescriptions, no matter how much ahead of time I call them in they won't start getting them set until I pull into the drive thru anyway. If you value your time, fill your prescriptions anywhere else.
