I am new to the area and Village Do-It-Best is my favorite store in Berrien Springs.What to expect: clean and organized store. Knowledgable clerks. Good equipment. Fast, friendly, and neighborly clerks.I still have yet to browse the store completely. Great selection of hand tools, specialty fasteners, building supplies, cleaning supplies, housewares, tools, gardening supplies, and more. Maybe you just need a lawn mower for a day or a scaffolding for a week? One can rent just about everything here. The only thing not on the list that I hoped to find was a chainsaw (which, for maintenance reasons, is a rare offer for any tool rental service). My favorite feature of Village Do-It-Best is their great selection of canning goods.

Small-town hardware store experience! They have a very good variety of hardware goods for the size of the town and prices that aren't ridiculously high (which typically small-town stores are known for). The staff, always friendly and knowledgeable and aren't afraid to call on more experienced staff if they don't know. Highly recommend it for your hardware needs.

Best local hardware store in town! Family owned, personal attention, always helpful! Wide section of plumbing, paint, fasteners, home, garden, tools, etc., so that you will find pretty much everything you need, for any home project.

Love this place! Employees are helpful and and warm.The small-town vibe is great. Prices are reasonable as well.They have a good variety in their inventory, however, there are somethings (like lumber) that I have to go to Lowes/ Home Depot for. But for garden supplies, tools, basic plumbing, canning supplies, protective gear etc. it's great to be able to go somewhere nearby.In fact, when it comes to garden supplies, I prefer small local stores/ businesses like this because they often have better options and prices than Large hardware stores do.Even bought a spice grinder there last year.The kitchen supplies section has SAVED MY LIFE on many an occasion!And did I mention the free popcorn? My kids love it.More importantly, it gives the store welcoming and friendly atmosphere.Highly recommend this place.

I love to go to this hardware store. It just bothers me that they are closed on what is many times my only day off. (Sat) Which can be really frustrating when trying to tackle that weekend to-do list. Also, their prices are about 2-5% higher (maybe more, just an estimate) than other comparable stores. They have great service however, and will order anything you may be unable to find on hand. They stock unusual items as well. Items that big name stores don't bother with anymore like canning and homestead type supplies. They are open late for a store of this nature in my small town, which is really nice.

This place is great for hardware store I wish I would remember to go hear more often instead of drive to Lowe's. Their prices are a little higher but you know it doesn't make that much difference in the long run this place is really good The folks are really friendly and happy and I always look forward to going here

Village Hardware is our go to hardware store, for the village and township. Their selection is plentiful compared to big box stores. Their rewards card gives us bonus cash towards our purchases almost every other visit. The staff is friendly, helpful, willing to help load heavy things in my car. It’s our go to store for all our hardware needs, including paint, gardening supplies and a million other things. The prices are competitive. It’s the perfect hardware store for our area. I would highly recommend the Village Hardware, they do it Best!

This place is a great part of the community! I like shopping here.Big selection of hardware, garden, housewares (including canning supplies). Consistently friendly and knowledgable workers who will take you directly to the part you need to finish your project and give you ideas about project.They don't have plants nor appliances, but that's ok.

Garren is a good man; however, I had absolutely miserable service today from an employee who appeared to believe that I was a waste of his time. I was at the store 3 different times today, trying to find the appropriate sized nut. After twice failing to find it myself, I went back and asked an employee for assistance. His first response was to tell me where the nuts/bolts are located. I told him that I knew where they are and needed assistance matching a washer to the appropriate nut. He took me down, opened one drawer, didn’t even MEASURE the washer, and told me that they didn’t have the correct nut. Had he at least TRIED to help, or just told me that he couldn’t do it and find someone who could, I’d have been fine. Instead, his demeanor suggested that I was an imposition on his time. After this experience, I’m not planning on going back. While it’s only a roughly 15 cent part, this poor service ensures that I will find alternate venues for spending my money.

I’ve been here at least 4-5 times trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. Every time I feel as though I am being followed and unwelcome. I’d go toward a section of the store and there is no one there. Within minutes, there’s someone or a couple of employees (“scanning or arranging something”)It’s happened 3 times and today Sunday May 31 it happened again. After asking if I needed anything, which I politely declined, I noticed there was an employee in the other aisle as well. Eventually I asked for floor leveler and instead of coming over to show me, just told me where it was and didn’t even bother to offer to check for me. Terrible customer service. Ace in Stevensville or the big box stores are much better options even in an emergency.

Classic small town hardware store. People are real nice mostly. Sure the loss prevention is a lil in your face if they dont know you, but they try to do it in that very sort of passive way religious folks do ... no one cares that much if i am finding everything alright LOL. Prices a lil higher than you can get further away ... also fair. Seem to have what i need most of the time. thats gotta be hard but they have done well by me. I feel like buying stuff here just to support local business. Overall I would say a very quality business.

I love this hardware! Incredibly helpful and they have the perfect variety tools, supplies, garden, fishing (basic), and more. The only thing they have limited selection on is lumber, but they are my first choice every time.

Very helpful employees especially if you come with enough information, I usually take a sample of the thing I'm looking for or maybe a picture, at least with the unusual jobs. Also they have a surprising amount of stuff for just being a small town hardware store

They treat you like you're stupid. I dread having to come here because of how much the employees are so negative. I try and be smiley and kind and they don't even smile or giggle or anything. They just act like you're constantly giving them a hard time and god have mercy on your soul if you ever decide to call these people to get a key made. I got off the phone feeling belittled. I just get my hardware needs taken care of when im out on Stevensville.

I do not go here except for emergencies prices are high and the last two times they did not have what I needed. One was a drain s-trap assembly from floor to sink and other was faucet hoses for hot and cold water. I went there just yesterday for two 3/8 4gauge ring terminal and it was 11.99 for a two pack! I have bought from other hometown hardware stores and paid $2to$3 each in a pinch but never $6each. I went to AutoZone in berrien springs bought the same connectors $4 for a two pack. Do not get me wrong I expect to pay more at a Local hardware store. It is crazy when I pay more for it here then in a small town two hours west of Chicago that is the same size farm town as berrien springs and is 45 minutes from nearest big box hardware store and pay less there then here something is out of wack. The prices on many of there other day to day stuff is 30% to 40% higher than anywhere else except Hales Hardware in Dowagiac.
