Had to stop and get my favorite drink before heading to Crystal Lake Alpaca farm in Frankfort. Bella at Hill Top is the best and the drinks she makes are just as good! My personal favorite is the frozen hot chocolate. Bella is always consistent with how she makes her drinks and is always super friendly.

Disappointed in the service that my family received. We stopped to get my daughter ice cream on our way home from the upper peninsula. I ordered a vanilla old fashioned soda. It tasted like nothing, it had no vanilla flavor at all. My husband asked if we could get another flavor because it truly tasted like nothing. The staff proceeded to tell us that she was not the one that waited on us and that there was not a vanilla flavored soda. My husband had to point it out on the board that it clearly says vanilla as a soda flavor. She then told us that she thinks it is just a small amount of vanilla ice cream and soda water. She didn’t let us exchange flavor and made it seem like we were in the wrong. When ordering my husband had to say vanilla three times. I truly don’t think that the soda was made right. I didn’t drink any of the soda, it was truly a waste of money.

Website looked promising. Handcrafted with real sugar and no corn syrup. Really surprised at the positive reviews. Not a friendly place. No greeting. Nothing. Ordered the vanilla ice cream in a waffle cone. The ice cream had no flavor. Needed some good vanilla bean to make it a true vanilla flavor. The cone had cinnamon in it which was way over powering. My husband who ordered chocolate chocolate chip said the cone took away from the flavor of the ice cream. Really disappointed.

This place is a great place to stop and get some ice cream! The home made soda is really good too. The kitchen sink ice cream is my favorite. It's a scoup of all the ice creams that they're selling. Like mixed in one ice cream not you get a scoop of each ice cream they sell.Just go and have a great time!

Amazing ice cream here. Made on site. So smooth. Stopped in after a cross country meet (for which we drove 3 hours) and decided to see if they were open. The have a good number of options. We tried the cheesecake and the biscoff (omg, the biscoff was off the charts!). Definitely worth fitting into your schedule if you are in the area. We even took 2 pints home.

Whenever we are anywhere near Benzonia, this is a must stop.Hiking Sleeping Bear or just driving thru, make sure to get in on the fantastic homemade goodies. Delicious home made ice cream. My favorites are the Toasted Coconut, Chocolate Peanutbutter, and their Salted Caramel. YummmmmmAlso homemade donuts (cinnamon are fantastic) and homemade macaroons I haven't had a chance to taste yet!Coffees as well.Plus a drive thru window if you prefer to stay in your car.Wonderful small town ambience in their shop. Beautiful plant and gift store adjoining to browse.Highly recommend.

Hill Top is a total must stop! They have hand-dipped ice cream among other things that are absolutely delicious! So creamy. They even sell pints in store and at the local Family Fare.

The coffee, donuts, and ice cream here are all insanely delicious. Pick ANY flavor of ice cream, you literally cannot go wrong. The waffle cone has cinnamon in it and tastes like an elephant ear from the county fair. It's so good.

Unique house made ice cream flavors. Great coffee. It's always really pretty inside here. Very peaceful to sit outside on their porch and drink your coffee. This is a definite stop for us! The staff is always very nice

Found this little gem on our yearly vacation and we are sure to go back! Homemade ice cream and sorbets, some with exotic flavors. We will try the boba next time. They had yummy looking flavors. Ice cream sodas and coffee drinks too. Drive thru available, but there are lots of places to outside.

The ice cream was incredible! Creamy. Flavorful. The waffle cones were awesome too. Loved the attached store as well. Wandered around looking at the unique local items and listening to the water features on display. The server was very friendly and attentive as well. So many wonderful flavors we'll need to go back to try more. They do let you taste test some while deciding also. If coffee is more your thing, they have an espresso machine as well. Wonderful place that is a must visit.

Some of the best ice cream I have ever had! All homemade, all spectacular. Old fashioned soda as well as other incredible confectionery delights. Staff was attentive, courteous and friendly. Attached atmosphere is incredible, with a nice attached gift shop and sitting area populated with with historical photos from the surrounding area. A great place to treat your family to great ice cream and gift shopping.

Really appreciated the customer service at this shop. My friends and I heard great things about the ice cream here and the owner personally created us a custom pint of Moosetracks with some vanilla ice cream, fudge, and peanut butter cup bits. It’s really about the simple things.. We felt so loved!

Hands down the best ice cream you will ever taste! They use quality products and it is made on location in Benzonia, MI. They have so many delicious flavors. Whether you choose a standard flavor (which is anything but standard) like chocolate or a unique one such as Ginger-honey-mango, you can't go wrong. You will be impressed! My personal favorite is the butter pecan. They saute the pecans in butter before folding them into the ice cream. DELICIOUS!

The ice cream and sorbet were delicious! It's all made in house. There was a nice selection that seems to rotate frequently - we visited twice during our vacation. The staff was super friendly and patient with our kiddos.

While out for a drive we looked up ice cream shop and we decided to go to Hill top soda shop. This was a fantastic choice. All the ice creams we got we're super creamy and flavorful and the local blueberry sorbet was amazing. Very high quality treats at a very affordable price. Highly recommend this place!!!

Pretty place. Friendly employees. Really good ice cream and SO many flavors. I feel like they have more unique flavors than other places. They have a restroom and free cups of ice water which is nice. A little indoor and outdoor seating. Our 2nd time here.

Hands down the best icecream and best waffle cone I've ever eaten. We returned for donuts the last morning of our vacation to visit one last time! Make sure you find them, they're at the top of a hill and aren't overly visable. Well worth a stop!!

Amazing ice cream, and friendly staff was incredibly patient with my kids trying to figure out which of the flavors they wanted to try.Note that it is fairly difficult to find, and it you did not know it was there, it'd be very easy to drive by.Looking forward to going back to try more!

The absolute best ice cream I have ever had! I don't usually like coconut, but the girl said that toasted coconut is the most popular.. So I sampled it and it was to die for. And it's homemade right in the shop! Friendly atmosphere. They have a bird and fish that the kids can feed. Lots of neat old pictures of sourounding areas,too. You won't be disappointed!

Great staff and they make their own ice cream! I've been there a couple times during our visits to Benzie County.It's a must stop for ice cream lovers. And it's not really visible from the road, you have to take the side street to get there.

Delicious ice cream and sorbet and donuts made in-house. They try to use local, in-season ingredients whenever possible. Also check out the farm stand outside.This place is a great find!
