Odd place with a lot of fishing gear and you can buy a parakeet while there . Weird hours it’s almost like the place is an inconvenience to the owners, the busiest time of the year is September , the town is full of people from all over Michigan and out of state looking for licenses and gear and this place doesn’t open until 10pm and closes at 5 and isn’t even open on Sunday. Maybe they make a lot of money there somehow but if I owned it you could bet I would be open 7 days a week and 6am weekdays and 5 am on weekends making as much money as I could in that month . I used to eat breakfast at the place next door and see all sorts of people walking up to check the door in the morning and leave . Most of the regulars who have been going up there for years simply don’t even go there because it’s so inconvenient

Great place to shop for a variety of things, and has been our favorite fishing store for years now! Always well stocked with everything we need for fishing at good prices! The owner is so nice and helpful. I was there buying flies this week and he added a few of his favorites at no charge!😊

Best place for bait, lures, gifts,and Pets. The selection is absolutely amazing. Prices are great. I plan on going back because of some of the very cool things that can be gifts. Lots of Michigan stickers and little souvenirs. Every thing you need to get on the river or lakes. We got perch size minnows and Canadian crawlers,all healthy and ready to serve to your favorite fish. I recommend going in even if you are not a fisherman

This bait/tackle shop is probably one of the few shops that actually care for their customers and actually take the time to give and show them what they need. Very nice people. Definitely a go to bait/tackle shop for me. And they definitely are well deserving of my 5star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ also super convenient because homestead dam is right down the road,highly recommend fishing here 👍

We come to Michigan every year for the salmon fishing and we stay at Vacation Trailer Park, and every year we come to Backcast fly shop get out tackle and our license they have everything you need for the season. There merchandise is at a fair price and they have pets too

Staff not friendly at all, customer service was poor. Fly shop but couldnt find any fly line. When i asked who i thought was the owner where i might be able to find some he just walked away because something else was way more important than i was. Ill make the drive to a different shop next time.

I always love to stop here when I'm in Benzie just to look at the fish. I'm not into sport but just the fact that they have pets brings me in. I have bought several goldfish from them already.

Very disappointed! Woman at the counter was talking on the phone about her truck tires, snapped at my partner when he asked about minnows and wax worms said she hadn't ordered any this year (though it is advertised in write up). She then proceeded to go right back to her call not answering where we might find some bait for ice fishing. I worked retail off and on for 10 years and she could use some lessons in customer service.
