I recently had the pleasure of renting a pontoon boat from this amazing family-run business. My cousin and I were in town for a spontaneous girls trip and were looking for some adventure. Luckily, we stumbled upon this place and met Bud, the owner, who encouraged us to pursue a boat rental for the day.Bud and his staff provided us with clear instructions on how to operate the boat, giving us the confidence to navigate the waters ourselves. They took their time explaining how to navigate Torch Lake and ensured that we felt comfortable before setting off on our adventure. Upon welcoming us back to the dock, they were extremely friendly and facilitated a quick checkout.But the amazing experience didn't stop there. The highlight of our day was not just the boat, but the exceptional fried chicken that was made in the shop. I have to say it was the most excellent fried chicken I have ever tasted in my life. It was an absolute pleasure to enjoy this delicious meal while cruising on the boat. The chicken was so good that even people who weren't renting the boats came in solely to purchase the chicken.Speaking of the boat, it was in spectacular condition and exceeded our expectations for a rental. It was clean, well-maintained, and had all the necessary amenities for a fun day on the lake. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and care that went into maintaining the boat.Overall, our day on the lake with the boat rental from this family-run business was the highlight of our trip. We truly had an extraordinary experience, thanks to Bud and his staff. Their personalized attention, excellent customer service, and delicious fried chicken made our adventure unforgettable. I highly recommend this business for anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable experience on Torch Lake.

We have been vacationing on Torch Lake 20+ years. Butch's has ALWAYS taken excellent care of us with boat & jet ski rentals. Everytime we stop in just to pick up ice, etc, it's like stopping home. Butch was like family and the new owner has carried on the same tradition. THANK YOU ‼️

This place is absolutely amazing! Best place to rent pontoons or jet skis on torch lake! They gave us such a great deal, we rented a pontoon and jetski on Memorial Day, very fair prices for top of the line equipment. Best prices for super nice rentals all equipment included. We will be using Butch for all our future rentals on torch lake. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the owner is one of the most laid back nicest business owners we’ve met! Can definitely tell it’s a family run business. Definitely would recommend over other places on the lake! Thanks bud!

Been boating in the area for 20 years, the service here has always been top-notch. today just seemed like over the top when they made a special walk out to give us some dog treats for our dog before getting on the boat, also made a suggestion of a unique place to boat to. what a great place!

My husband and I rented a tandem kayak last week from Butch's place. Everyone was friendly, the price was right and there were bathrooms and a place to change at their shop. The shop is situated on Torch Lake and Clam Lake, one to the left and one to the right.

I love the vibe in this store! The last two years we got some great merchandise here - coffee mugs, t-shirts, hats. We came this year ready to buy some more cool stuff and their merchandise seems much cheaper and less quality, and worst of all, it has Butch’s Tackle on every item! You can no longer get just a really cool piece with “Torch Lake” on it as in the past. We will not be buying anything else until that changes.

We bring our kids here every time we come to Torch Lake. We joke that it’s a quick $200 every time we bring our family of 6 in, but everyone leaves with something they love and will wear over and over! The crew working at Butch’s is top notch! They’re cheerful, lighthearted and kind. Can’t wait to come back!

Best chicken on the lake, huge selection of shirts and don't forget a buzz bag. This is our place to hit for a quick snack. They have a little of everything but don't forget to get some chicken. A must stop if you want a cool lake shirt.

Bud was the absolute best. Great food and establishment along with an amazing staff. Rented a boat and jet skis from this place on multiple occasions and I couldn’t recommend it enough. Amazing place!

Cody was SUPER knowledgeable and helpful and everyone was really nice here. They tied us off, offered up restrooms, gave GREAT fishing knowledge and had accessories my wife wanted. These guys even stayed almost 20 minutes after close because we were shopping and were unaware they were closing. Nobody even said a word. Incredible customer service. I'd give more stars if I could.

My friends and I had an AWESOME time renting from Butch and his crew! We started off by meeting Bud, freaking awesome, and the girls (super sweet) lead us out to the water! The boat is AMAZING and spacious. We didn’t encounter one hiccup. Can’t wait to rent from Butch and the crew again!

They’ll rip you off on gas. So watch them! They’ll only fill the gas tank almost full when giving it to you. You’ll leave for the day and they replenish the gas at the end. Many times they tell me sometime absorb but I pay it because I can’t verify it. So last Summer I had they make sure it was totally full before taking it out and I also watched the tank get filled up at the end. Miraculously it was 1/4 of what I have paid the last 3-4 years.

Incredibly friendly staff, and they sell just about anything you'd need for a day on the water. Every year my family rents the Riverview cottage across the street and my parents keep their boat in the marina - the crew at Butch's is always there to help if we need something! We were vacationing up in the Torch Lake area for the first time and found Butch’s for water sport rentals, both jet skis and a pontoon. Let me just say, this place was amazing and made our experience one we will never forget! Bud, the owner, as well as the rest of the crew and staff are wonderful and went above and beyond to make our experience and days on the lake fun and enjoyable! We weren’t sure what to expect being first time customers but their top notch customer service makes us really want to come back and support this great business again and again!

What amazing customer service, I ran out of gas in my boat on clam lake and had to walk and get gas at Butch’s, they let me barrow a gas can instead of making me pay for one, then on the way back to the launch the owner picked me up in his truck and even gave me another 5 gallons of gas at no charge, then he dropped me off at the launch, I put the gas in my boat and filled the rest up at butch’s and will always fill up here when I come back up every year for our yearly up north trip, thank you so much, you saved the day and turned what could have been a bad boat day into a great day all around.

We had the best experience at Butch’s! Before our visit started, the staff made sure we were informed and had options in case the weather turned out bad, as the forecast was predicting storms. We got check phone calls, and they were always sure to let us know that we could call them anytime.We ended up having some nice weather, but we had a rough start to our day. Our 5 year old son was in a mood, and we forgot his trunks. Bud was so kind and went and got him trunks! Once we were on the water, we realized we forgot our sandwich fixings, which is problematic since my kids have celiac and eating out on a whim is a challenge. Not to worry, Butch’s had a great variety of deli meats and cheese that are able to be cut fresh.We never felt rushed or like we had to wait for service, unlike some the busy marinas we are accustomed to in the Ozarks. We truly had a wonderful experience, and will most certainly return!

We came upon this place by accident on our first time out for the season...propeller work had just been done prior to this first trip and BAM we lose the propeller, I was less than happy to say the least. Some kind folks towed us to Butch's and thank god for that. The owner himself took care of us gave us great service. Fixed it for us and for a GREAT price!!! Thank you so much for everything and we will definitely be back when we visit torch lake again!!

I’ve been here every year 2 or 3 times I’ve rented a boat from every boat rental in torch lake over the years the last 2 years I’ve only went to Butchs because of the customer service I have received.I honestly can not say enough nice things.Bud the owner (who I always thought was an employee) is probably the best person/personality and Best customer service I ever received in torch lake ,out of all the boat rental places he works with you he’s very nice and VERY fair,His sister was great as well!!We got rained out and the kids were bummed we came back before we left the next day to see if we can get a great deal on a cpl hours to make up for the day before, he gave it to us for half n told us to come back whenever and just keep them in mind when we return to town.It was a fantastic day and we were so very great full and now we are going back in 10 days and I will forever always only use them and I tell everyone about them❤️Thankyou Bud , family,staffWe really appreciate you!SEE YOU SOON!!!

We we're up north vacationing on Torch Lake and launched our pontoon boat at Butch's Tackle & Marine on Friday July 31st. When the boat came off the trailer I noticed that the motor wasn't shifting into gear properly. Bud, the owner of Butch's came right out and began helping us. We had a pin of some sort that had came out of the throttle cables. He pulled us into a slip and took care of making a make shift part to get us running. He took the time to explain exactly what he was doing and also gave us some extra pins in case it happened again while we we're up north. He went above and beyond and assisted us so we could get out on the lake and enjoy our day. Our day and weekend would have been over without his help. I can't say enough about what a great guy and awesome business he runs. If your on Torch Lake or Clam Lake make sure to stop in and support his business. His customer service is Top Notch!

I can not say enough good things about this place and the owner Bud. We were visiting Torch Lake for the first time and we had a group of people on our pontoon with us. As we were heading from the north end to the sand bar out motor began having issues and was not running properly. We first called a marina in the area and the were absolutely no help. We had no where to go and needed a place to park the boat to try and diagnosis the problem. We pulled up to Butch's and Bud the owner was BEYOND helpful. This guy went out of his way to help us. Absolutely first class dude. We will always stop here for fuel, food, or anything else you may need while your on the lake.

perfect way to spend my birthday weekend, it was absolutely beautiful and the views are unmatched! everyone there was super friendly and the women that helped us were very informative and made us feel comfortable for our first jet ski experience! if you live in the midwest there is no other place to go jet skiing besides butch's! planning a trip back with more people in a couple of weeks (:

Extremely friendly staff and reasonably priced. We were more than pleased with our day out on Torch Lake and felt spoiled with their 2019 pontoon rental! I cant recommend this place enough. We even got complementary fishing gear and tubes for the kids!
