This place has a reputation for being a little more expensive than other thrift stores in the area, but it’s only by a dollar or so for their clothing. Everything else is pretty comparable in price to goodwill, and they do offer coupons and a rewards program, which helps. They have a better selection of stuff and I’m able to find a lot more of what my kids need here, which makes up for the price IMO. The staff has always been nice as well, and their place is clean. No complaints here!

I remember the first we got MTM! Was a joke! Got Goodwill back and then they left. Mel Trotter Ministries came back with a much improved selection, setup, prices etc. Don't even think about going to Goodwill anymore!

Even though the money is for good cause I feel there are many overpriced items. These are used items, some used more than others. Some may be new as well. Those that are should be new item prices. However those gently used and used items should not be. I do find some good deals in there on the rare occasions I make it into Belding and stop in so therefore I will shop again. The cause is good.

The store is clean and well organized. Aisles are wide enough. The products are fairly priced. The money we spend here goes to a good cause.

First of all the prices are absolutely ridiculous! Apparently they are not interested in moving their items. Wouldn’t it be better to make some money on an item instead of it just sitting there???? And to top it off when I was checking out I found a chip out of one of the pieces. The girl had tallied it up but I hadn’t given her my money yet. She wouldn’t remove the $5.99 from my bill. I hadn’t paid yet & I felt like saying forget it, keep everything. I didn’t. Just decided I will NEVER go to that place again. Go ahead and play the Christian music throughout your store, and have Ministries in your title. As far as I’m concerned, Christian or ministry is not what your store is about. It’s very sad to think you could do so much for people but are obviously unwilling to.

Some items are priced a little much, (but that's not the employees fault). However I still love going in here because you can still get some great deals on items, plus the staff are always friendly and the store is clean.

They have a lot of fantastic stuff; however, the prices have increased exponentially! It's confusing to me that this is supposed to be an organization that helps those in need, yet its prices are such that many still cannot afford it, and even if you can afford it, why spend it when you can go to local stores & get it on the sales rack for the same price or less? They also price everything they consider "designer" higher than other items. Even if the item is worn out and ratty, it's sad.

Grossly over priced. Full blown retail on used products. C'mon guys....you're distorting the meaning of thrift stores. People go to these places to get a good deal because they can't afford new... you're making it hard to afford used. Do better!!

Prices are OUTRAGEOUS for USED and DONATED items!!!! I have NEVER need a thrift store so expensive. Items I saw are more expensive than buying brand new! Walmart brand size 2T shirt $4.99 USED. I can buy a BRAND NEW for $3.00. Pants are another story I looked at those prices and that's what made me walk out. $17.99 $12.99 even $30.00!!! For USED JEANS THAT WERE DONATED FOR FREE!!!! Just because they are a " name brand" don't mean they can retail for 50% of original prices when it was again.. DONATED FOR FREE. such a shame.

First the prices are so high it almost is comical I I picked up a faded glory womans T shirt from walmart that was in mel trotter's they had a 4.99 price tag on it. These faded glory T shirts are 4.00 new at walmart. Not to mention the stain that was on it (oil stain). Then I Was told I could not shop with my other shopping bags from other stores. I have not been asked to leave my purchases at the front while I shop at high end stores in the Malls so why on earth is a second hand store treating me like a criminal before I even step foot in the store? Its Christmas season people are going to have shopping bags with them. For a "christian" store they seem extremely judgemental and very worried about the almighty dollar. I have been a long time customer of mels but after being put off they way was today I'll find another second hand store from now on. One with better prices and less prejudice.

I MISS GOODWILL ! This store is a joke everything is overpriced $ Twice as much as Goodwill charged for the same items. Goodwill charged $2 for Tee shirts Mel-Trotter charges $5. Nice long sleeved button up shirts Goodwill charged $5 Mel-Trotter charges $8. I realize its a buisness and Mel-Trotter needs to make a profit but not straight up rob people for Items that were donated for free to this corporation. I used to love browse shopping when Goodwill was in this location they always had tons of good books and DVD's, Great clothes and great deals now that Mel-Trotter is here i hate it and will not shop here anymore. BRING BACK GOODWILL PLEASE!

Prices are way too high, you can go to a retail store and buy clothing for the same or even cheaper. Sad part is that its all donations. 12 bucks for a wrinkly worn out T-Shirt because it says "Banana Republic" on the tag.

My rating is specific to the absurd high prices on donated items. I'm curious if the profits help anyone other then the owner. Lots of good donations to dig through but the deals are elsewhere.

Belding is such a small town and this place wants to charge so much for one single item. Some shirts were priced at $10.00! For a thrift store items should not cost this much. Mel Trotter will not last long with the way they are going. Like I said, it's a small town.

They have really decent stuff here and I use to love going here but whoever prices stuff there now is just not good at there job I saw a dog treat container I could get at the dollar store for 1.25 marked for 2.99 at Mel trotter and I could get a coffee pot for 3.99 and now it's double that people go there for deals and seems like there's not much of a deal here anymore.

I can not believe this store!! Everything they sell is donated to them and I’ve seen a sofa there priced as high as $500 also every time I go there I spend over a hundred dollars and any time I’ve asked for a discount due to an obvious issue with an item im wanting to purchase they won’t do as much as even take a dollar or two off the item!!! What kind of religious organization is this place!!!????

Lmao I went here w my friend a while back and the employees low-key ignored us for a bit while we was looking at jewlery, but when they finally spoke to us, they were super unfriendly and treated us like we were going to steal anything we touched, not to mentioned they were like playing dump when we were fully describing everything we wanted to see. OVERALL was treated like a vagrantand thief 💀💀

Pretty sad ,everything they get is donated to them. Why do i have to pay and arm and a leg for it? Im disappointed...might as well bring goodwill back. Theyre nicer and cheaper...
