Columbia Ave & the Urbandale location's are cool. Straight forward and just shop within what's on sale. The Penfield location is hit or miss. If they like you, your fine, if they don't like you, they'll drum up something to harass you about everytime you go there. I'm saying, they're too personal and not just business oriented, to the point that it dictates your whole opinion of the place. The other two locations are cool and ran as a business should be, the Penfield location is ran based on personal opinions more than anything. I get along at all 3 locations, but it's far more of a considerable and constant effort out at Penfield.

While the staff are very sweet and caring, the manager is blatantly rude.If your staff were properly trained, you would not need to help fix issues. I was definitely not the one to blame with your "the customer could make it easier on us" comment. You get paid to do what you do.I have worked in customer service for years and have never treated a customer like that.I will not be returning.

Love Family Fair! The employees are so helpful. The items are all priced correctly so you don't second guess prices at the check out unlike their competitors. I have saved a lot of money here since I chose Family Fair.

Prices have sky rocketed. Things I used to get for 4.99- 5.99 or 9.99 are now $ 2.00-3.00 more. Plus the shelves are only half full. The items I wanted are either down to the last 2:or completely gone off the shelf.

Today they had something that I've tried to find at meijer and walmart, neither of had it but family fare did, I found what I was looking for in your store something that I've been looking for a long time for. Meijer or walmart doesn't have it

The Colombia store is waaaaay better than Urbandale. This one is super clean and the staff is nice. The downside is they usually never have anyone to ring up your groceries. It's all self check out.

Always friendly staff. Easy layout. The only complaint I would have is that they only have 1 person checking people out and 4 self check out . Also just a tip if you go on Wednesday to do shopping as or for a senior 55 + you must go through the regular line to receive your 10 percent off I was told it can't be done through self check out.

Disappointment. For a widely known grocery store, there seasoning selection is horrible. They don't carry Cajun seasoning except for 1 brand of dry seasoning which is loaded with salt. They don't offer a range of products for multiple ethnic races except for the watered down products that white people want to eat.

I'm highly disappointed with the management at the Family Fare Columbia store in Battle Creek, MI. I went in last night late, around 11:30pm to get a few things and did not enjoy the service. Typically I go in, grab my things and use the automated checkout. That night it wasn't open so I used the only lane that was with a clerk. The manger and another employee who had been retrieving carts in the parking lot were standing around the end of the lane chatting when I checked out. The clerk operating the cash register asked if I wanted bag which I declined. The manager, a blonde, older, heavy set woman, proceeded to grab my items and begin to bag them as the clerk told her I didn't want one. She chuckles, makes a comment about trying to be nice, and attempts to stuff the candy bar I'd bought into my jacket pocket. I told her, please don't do that. I don't know her, she doesn't know me, please respect my personal space. This seemed to be funny to her as well as the other employee who had been retrieving carts as I got a response of smirking and condescending attitude. Now I know some people may not see an issue here but having been a through a traumatic experience as a child I take my personal space rather seriously. I would think that respecting boundaries would be the standard for a business such as Family Fare but that seems to not be the case here in my experience. Is is custom for an employ to lay hands on a customer, stuff things in their pockets for them? Doesn't seem like it should be. Maybe it seems minor to some people but not everyone. This kind of behavior is why I prefer to use the automated checkout. The callousness of some people can be just astounding.

This Family Fare is pretty good. Some of the items seem to struggle to ever be stocked, but could obviously not be in their control depending on shipping of their products. For the most part though, it is decent shopping there.

Usually we get a cashier that's faster. She was nice, but I'd prefer one that goes quickly. It seems the experienced employees are hardly there, and on a busy day we get newer workers so the line ends up curling around. With one register open, maybe bring in someone else. And if I wanted to self check out, I would. But why do their job of I'm not getting the employee discount.

We thought it was going to be expensive, by the prices on the shelf. However, the cashier helped us save alot of money, by letting us use her store coupon card, (Since the store was out of them, so we couldn't get our own), and she saved us alot of money!

Love this ...the people who work there are GREAT!! Tonight's visit was TERIFFIC. Shopping was easy, (Saturday Night). Whatever the visit so good, was the people. The manager, customer service lady, and my cashier were GREAT. Shop here, folks, you'll enjoy it, a lot!

Great place to shop for groceries, they're meat selection is very nice and the deli is wonderful! I also have to say the freezer/ice cream section... So many to select from I love it! Only issue I notice is the checkout, there never seems to be enough check out lanes open.

We do shopping when we come into town at Family Fare. The produce is always very fresh and the staff has been kind. The only problem is sometimes during the summer months the trash smells awful!! You can smell it while in the parking lot, I feel sorry for anyone that might live in the area!
