Our family came to stay last month, and enjoyed it so much! The cabins are adorable little rustic-style fishing cabins. No internet/cell service-AMAZING!!! I loved that part. It was such a great way to connect with the family and not be distracted by electronics. Having the water out our front door was such a treat. My hubby and son fished every single day, and my daughter had a great time playing with the water toys provided. Jeremy and Amanda were such welcoming and accommodating hosts! We had a blast and will be back!Nearby activities: So many fun surrounding activities within a hour or less. We went to Tahquamenon Falls, Whitefish Point, and the Soo.Noteworthy details: The freighters that would go right by the resort made it so fun!! The kids loved it when they’d blow their horn as they passed.

Loved this place! It was everything we were hoping for and more! Watched the big boats go by everyday, even saw some cruise ships. My son-in-law and grandkids fished everyday. Lots of relaxing and playing in the water with tons of water toys, kayaking too. Loved the cabins. They were rustic and super relaxing to stay at. Can’t wait to go back next summer!

We stayed here for a weekend. These are small fishing cottages that they are slowly remodeling. They were clear with us that ours had not been updated yet, and we were okay with that. Mainly we wanted something that was clean, affordable, and that we could take our dog to. It definitely met those needs. And the views were fantastic! We saw several freighters. The photo I took of the freighter below is from inside the living room window. The property could be cleaned up some, there's an old trailer on it that looked pretty junky and some miscellaneous stuff, but the owners seem to be working hard at cleaning up and updating things.The owner is very nice and so are the people at the little convenience store and restaurant nearby. It's only 20 minutes or so from the Soo.

I’ve stayed here for the last 23 years, very summer! The old owners were awesome Bob and Carol but the new owners are just as cool! This place is rustic off the path and an amazing place to just getaway from everything. Lots of memories growing up here and the cabins are amazing! I could go on for hours but this place will always hold a place in my heart and I can’t wait to come back in July.

Our family has been coming here as a yearly tradition since I was a wee lad. The States' have always been gracious hosts and have seen to any needs we have had during our stays. There is a special kind of relaxation to be experienced here that I have not enjoyed anywhere else. The cabins are utilitarian but cozy, and a perfect non-distracting atmosphere for quiet board gaming or reading with your family or friends. There is plenty of dock space and a ramp into the water for those who boat or fish, as well as a handy cleaning shack for the fish that you swear was "thiiiis big" before you cleaned it. There are a few regulars who always tend to be staying at the same time each year that we do, and I recall many enjoyable nights around the fire with them, talking about everything, and talking about nothing. Truly a wonderful place to "get away" and meet new characters, or a perfect choice for a fishing trip.

So sorry to hear (today) of Bob States passing. He was a perfect guy to own this place. Some of the best times of my life were spent here with my late father. If you're looking to truly get away from it all, this is your place. My condolences to Carolyn, who I know little about, as our interaction was always with Bob. I can still see him up there, with shingles and tool belt, hammering new roofs on the cabins......

One of our favorite places!!! We vacation here every summer. It's very rustic but clean. The ships that come by are so fun to watch. Being on the water makes for such a peaceful stay. This place is also owned and managed by a very sweet lady.

UPcountry and very strategic location on the beautiful Ste. Mary's River, southbound channel, for fishing and viewing lake freighters (I periodically worked/sailed the freighters from 1970 to 2001).I was born in 1947 and have been going there almost every year since before the Mackinac Bridge was opened in 1957, which is to say my family used to take the ferry across the Straits.Carolyn State is the present owner, her husband, Bob, passed last year. Good people, nice place and usually good fishing. RV hookup up available, Bait shop, Marina, Restaurant and Bar nearby; casinos in St Ignace and Sault Ste Marie. Check it out!

If you're looking for a quiet and quaint getaway that is rustic and homey, this is the place. You won't miss all the bells and whistles of a fancy resort when you wake up to beautiful sunrises on the St. Mary's River to watch the freighters go by. Make friends and s'mores by the fire at night, and explore the Soo and surrounding area during the day.UP living at it's best.

The price can't be beat and the cabins are very basic which is perfect for fishing or boating trips. Right on the water, an access ramp, and plenty of dock space. Only downside is that the cabins need renovations as there are a few problems with each one.

What's not to like? Spending days on the river, fishing, swimming (if you are brave), water skiing, telling stories (some even true), bon fires, and just hanging out with friends. That pave is my happy place.
