Free camping, available upon arrival, no reservations!!! First come first serve. If you are into off road riding, its great. I am a trail rider with determination, I was able to do 26 + miles of trail with difficulty. Lots of sand, my dirt bike is not set up for me,( we are working on that) but i made it through only tipping my bike 2 times đŸ˜„ just have to watch out for the sand!! , otherwise I Loved it!!!

Quiet, secluded campground along the river. The campground was full the three nights we stayed in August. Bring your mosquito repellent. Pit toilet, but no water. Easy drive in on a well maintained gravel road. You can find some short hikes up to Bears Den or the Sturgeon falls.

Nice spot. Took my dog up for a long weekend here in mid-September 2021. The drive in on the well maintained FS road was very pleasant. I was the 3rd camper there by 6PM Thursday. By about that time Friday all 7 sites were full. There was not as much privacy between sites as I would’ve liked and most of the firewood in the campground was picked over but there was plenty along the road. A Forest service employee came through Friday morning but I didn’t see anyone else the rest of the weekend. Not much else I can add other than I was happy to see very little micro trash while I was there, the gnats were out in full force down at the River and the peaceful surroundings were pretty much negated due to a large group of 2 or 3 families who insisted on lighting off fireworks and running their generators all night.

Nice place to camp with sounds of the river if you are parked close enough. Free dispersed camping, but does have two toilets. Internet very spotty, otherwise we would have stayed longer.

Best place to camp!!! Nice and peaceful! Clean sites, outhouse was close by. We camped out right by the river. They have lots of different sites here to choose from.

Great, little, quiet campground. It doesn't have running water, which simultaneously is a negative and a positive. On one hand, it would be nice to have easy access to water; however, the lack of easy access might just keep this campground off the beaten path enough to be an enjoyable location. Well-maintained gravel roads, clean enough pit toilets, and a beautiful stretch of river. The sites are relatively private with solid layouts.

It's pretty far from the main highway but perfect if you like the seclusion. We stayed right next to the river and it was perfect for our vacation.

Amazing little campground, the mosquitoes were a little heavy but nothing a little smoke and bug spray can't fix. You can stay up to 14 days for free. The bathrooms are just simple pit toilets but very clean. The sites are big and are spaced out very nicely, will definitely be returning in the future.

Best rustic car camping spot. Just an outhouse so if you bring everything it's awesome.

a great, small little campground on a river. Just a handful of rustic sites, but it's great if you're looking for a quiet getaway.

Secluded campground six miles up a very good gravel road (suitable for motorcycles) north of Sidnaw, Mi. No water or garbage service but camping is free. Pit toilets provided. No firewood but plenty in surrounding woods. . Most sites a stones throw from the river (#7 is the one you want if you can get it that picture is from the campsite). River has brown trout but didn't check it out. Heavily wooded area but privacy between sites only fair. Excellent areas for pitching a tent - nice soil with no rock.

It's not as rustic as people said. It's absolutely perfect. It's right on the Sturgeon river. Beautiful, secluded sites right on the river. There are only a few sites and it's a long drive but it's GORGEOUS! No water, no outhouse but each site has a great fire pit with a grilling rack and a nice big picnic table.

Seconding the previous post - except we stayed two nights here and loved it. Lots of nice hiking, but you have to find it. If you get a chance to go up to silver mountain, it's a great view. The pit toilets were extremely clean, considering that the forest service doesn't come by often. The people we ran in to here were very friendly and had been there a while. Sidnaw is the closest town and they have a great little breakfast spot - Watton, just up the road has a big grocery store attached to a gas station.

Great rustic Fed campground with only a handful of sites, but they are all streamside, and what a beautiful river! One of my most favored campgrounds. You may want to avoid it in late fall(?) when bear hunters swarm it with there bear-chasing dogs in tow.

Secluded campground six miles up a very good gravel road (suitable for motorcycles) north of Sidnaw, Mi. No water or garbage service but camping is free. Pit toilets provided. No firewood but plenty in surrounding woods. Three of nine sites occupied on arrival on a Friday afternoon. Most sites a stones throw from the river. River has brown trout but didn't check it out. Heavily wooded area but privacy between sites only fair. Excellent areas for pitching a tent - nice soil with no rock. Picnic table, fire ring & lantern hanger at each site. No hiking trails noted in immediate area of campground.

Enjoyed the night here. We arrived around 4 pm on a Friday night, 2 spots left. A few camp spots along the road after passing the campground. Nice out toilets. We stayed in spot #9, I assume all of the spots have a trail to the water like ours did.

Perfect little spot for some motorized camping down at the bottom of the gorge. There's a lot to see and do in the area so this would be a perfect base camp.

It's okay, not one of my favorite. But it could be good for Atver's or people who want to be along the River.
