As I was waiting in line for the self checkout, the lady in front of me was having problems using it. I went and got the employee working that morning (6/21/23 around 9:45am), only for her to be extremely rude to that customer. She walked up behind her and said “just push start” with a huge annoyed sigh in there. She then turned around and rolled her eyes.I should have left my things on the counter and shopped somewhere else. An employee should never treat their customers like that. Highly disappointed.

I used to manage Family Dollar stores, and, to date, I have yet to see one as horrendous as your store in Bangor, Michigan. Not only is it a mess, but it’s also not ADA compliant. I don’t know who the DM is, but they should be fired, immediately. Saturday, October 1st, I had the very unfortunate experience of waiting in line, with about 10 other people. There was one register open, and an employee came from the office. When I inquired about him opening the other register, he said “I can’t open it, because there is no drawer in it”. He proceeded to tell me that the one register shouldn’t even be open, and we were to use self checkout only. So, tell me, when did your customers become the bottom of the barrel, when it comes to service? My next notice will be to the health inspector, so they can shut the store down, until you can properly manage it. This is THE WORST DOLLAR GENERAL, I’ve ever seen. I would very much like to get a response to my concerns, but I won’t hold my breath waiting for it. Your company obviously doesn’t care about your customers, at all.

June 2023 - they seem to have one employee and not a single Andy Capp’s restock for WEEKS 😭May 2023 - boxes boxes everywhere, and not and employee in sight!Not a single employee was in the building. I’m not kidding! I walked through the back of the store in the ‘employee only’ area to check. I really thought about filling a cart and walking out the front door with a free load but my conscious just wouldn’t let me! 😔 I’d say this is why their stocks are dropping.Not sure what happened that day but I did call the police and sit there until they arrived, since I wasn’t sure what else to do.March 2021 - cleanest I have seen the store. Still has overstock cluttered everywhere but people were actually there working on it.Other than the local drunks(?) sitting outside chain smoking, this was a good experience.

A week or so ago I went into Bangor dollar general. My daughter needed to use the bathroom we were directed to the mens bathroom. It was gross. But contact Alexis and it was taken care of immediately. Fast forward to today I go in for 1 item a quick trip and there are two people working one stocking the other cashing people out. The line has 9 people. The man cashing people out was having issues so I called the other girl working she comes up. Asked him what he needed she told him what to do and was walking away 9 people in the line. I asked you can’t open a register to help him out. Her response no he has my register. All while cards are getting declined and some people needing to walk out to get cash. The wait time was crazy. This store is getting worse and worse smh.

A great place to shop. People friendly, kind, and carding staff. They always go above and beyond to help their customers! They treat you like family! Come and see for your self. Thanks dollar general staff!( keep up the wonderful job.) !

One of the best chains I have been to! The place is actually clean without having clutter just thrown around on the floors and left there like other chains do. The staff is very friendly and look as if they don't hate their lives working there....lol

UPDATE August 2020 - ONE worker and the poor woman was totally overrun. Despite the mask requirement-this single employee had her mask barely covering her bottom lip. I could see nose and teeth....mask was wet even from her chomping on it...second time I went here and the last. Also, stocking stuff was everywhere. Empty boxes all over the aisles. Carts with things that needed to be put away...just horribly gross and dirty inside.July 2020 (3stars)- Maybe it was an off day but my first/only time here there seemed to be one worker and he was SWAMPED. They were out of most everything and random things were tossed about the shelves no where near their original location...

Always understaffed with high employee turnover doesn’t say much for management. Usually boxes restock boxes everywhere making it hard to navigate the isles.

Dont want to go to the big super stores, you know one starts with a W, another M. Then go to General Dollar. Get almost anything you want from a bar of soap to grocery products. A little high on food items but at least you can buy enough food to get you thru a couple days, enough at least til you feel like going to the W or M store. Great name brand merchandise and even lower prices for Dollar General generic products. They have a $1 isle that has a wide selection of cleaning products also a variety of other items for just $1. The only downfall not a very good clothes selection and being a little too high prices for food. All n all I would recommend Dollar General to anyone.

The aisles are too small for there to be stacked boxes everywhere. I realize the shelves have to be stocked but don't leave it all in the aisles.

Dollar General is a great place to pick up items that you need quickly. The Dollar General here in Bangor always has fast friendly service, and they have a wide enough variety of items that they usually have what we need.

The woman who has a missing tooth in the front is rude to customers and her staff. Tammy is the employee name . Now this womanwas not even on her shift she was a customer at time of incident.She needs to be removed!!
