Although I love the store and the employees. They do not rotate their stock a lot of time stuff Has freezer burn or the vegetables are rotten? The bottle machines have not worked for 5 years. They're a garbage. It is such a hassle. This store has money. They could upgrade these machines. I will continue to shop there. Don't get me wrong, but this store is not maintained like others. Nothing against the management Stop into the store again with bottles. February seventeen twenty twenty four once again like always the Bottle machine still didn't work. I mentioned it to the staff. They just look and laugh. Oh, yeah, they never work, they said. Oh, it's because people bring in dirty bottles. You know, you can open the front of that machine and clean the eye off, right? It's general maintenance once again. Nothing ever happens in this store they don't read the. Reviews, it just continues to circle. I don't understand how a store can operate with such bad reviews. Fix your machines or maintain them

Carries a great selection of groceries, beer, wine, liquor, etc. Don't miss their deli section and bakery. You can find most every product that will fit your needs. Staff are always friendly. Never dissatisfied.

Can you imagine if this store stocked more than rotten wrinkly produce, Aunt Millies bread products, carl budding quality lunch meat, and expired and freezer burned food?Can you imagine their profit margin if they kept things fresh, in stock, all for a reasonable price? This store is just sad. And, their prices are abhorrent for the quality they offer. It is worth the extra drive to shop out of town.I always regret shopping at Houseman's. The dollar stores and save a lot are better in price and quality, but ultimately when I want to go get groceries, I spend the extra time driving to Big Rapids or Ludington, because Houseman's is a horrible disappointment in quality, variety, and value.

Loretta (I believe) made a cake for us for our 82&83 year old friends Chuck & Kathy!! It was AMAZING!! Everyone loved it!! She did an excellent job! And all the staff were so nice!

SERVICE was excellent. PRICES competitive to other places where you drive miles to get to. SELECTION of groceries was as great.Look, if Houseman’s is right in your back yard, why drive all over looking for the lowest price? It’s right here. Overall cost of my grocery purchase was competitive to any place I would have to drive miles for.

Everytime I have come into this store there was the same manager who I see yelling at workers AND customers. Up until this last time I came in I personally have had no run ins with him. The other day though, I asked him about the price of a deli item that did not have a tag and he started screaming at me ,, A very sweet young lady apologized profusely about the situation but my opinion of this store is now stained. I do not recommend coming here. Prices are high and experience is low.

I love that the cashier's are mostly mature ladies like myself! They have baggers that offer to help you carry out if you need it. Good produce, good deli, pretty much everything you need a grocery store to be.Update: still shop there whenever we are in town!

Great fried chicken in the deli, but my favorite thing about this place is the BBQ tent that was set up outside. The best brisket ever!!! I can't recall the name of the food stand, nor the names of the couple that were running it.

The cashier acted very rude towards me bc the store started closing and nobody told me and when I realized my sister had went to the bathroom for a couple minute's so I waited for her and checked out the old lady cashier gave me my change and instead of just giving to me she pushed it in my hand obviously trying to be rude I was nothing but kind saying thank you and sorry and she was nothing but rude my sister got done using the bathroom and I told her they we're closing forgetting my bag and a older male worker said what r we doing and she said just waiting for this boy to grab his bag instead of telling me I forgot my bag so I went and grabbed my bag saying sorry and she rolled her eyes so as I walked out I said you didn't have to be so rude though my sister also got treated bad there before to the store was closed for 5 minutes max and I'm just a 16 yro trying to shop for my mom's bday

So I go into housemans today and there’s no burger. So I nicely ask the lady at the counter to see if there’s any in their back coolers. She calls the manager over that I’ve already had problems with (he’s a very unpleasant man). He comes over and literally gets an inch away from face. To where I was uncomfortable and had to step back. He says he don’t stock pile burger in the back! We are clearly sold out! I was in shock. That was just unprofessional, rude and unnecessary.
