Awesome food and drink selection for being in the middle of nowhere! We were able to stock up on the way to pictured rocks. They also own the motel next door and for the price and location, it was perfect. Public beach access is also right across the street.

Pasties are awesome. Don't hesitate to get a few frozen to take home. Follow the directions for reheating and they will be 97.5% of fresh. Can't wait to get back and restock the freezer!

We specifically stopped here on our road trip for the pasties, and let me just say - they did NOT disappoint! Being from out of state, trying a pasty was a must. Make sure to call ahead and make sure they have enough because they run out quick. Definitely recommend if you are in the area or passing through to get your pasty fix!

We were told by locals in Munising that these are the best pasties in the area. I haven’t had enough to make that claim but they are very good and would highly recommend. Also a nice convenience store with friendly staff.

Call ahead to make sure they have hot pasties! They run out! Man were they tasty. Packed with meat and warmed my heart for about $7. Come here y’all.

Read the reviews so we stopped for a pastry and a pasty. Pasty was piping hot and good (my first). Rasberry pastry was good. Cinnamon roll was dry and boring. Coffee hood. Service friendly.

Definitely best pasties in the u.p hands down.. keep up the good work and staff very friendly. They do run out so if your after the pasty get in early. Your taste buds won't regret it

Good selection for a small market. They also have pre-made sandwiches, pie slices, hand-scooped ice cream, a good liquor selection, and pasties made fresh daily. I’d only had one pasty before (not from here) and wasn’t impressed. This one was delicious, as was the pie. I bought a pre-made turkey sandwich on ciabatta or the next day and it was fantastic, piled with meat and fresh veggies on it too.

If you are in the area and hungry for a pasty, GET IT HERE. The filling is well seasoned and not bland like several others I've tried. Excellent.

I have NEVER had a pastie like what this grocery store made! It was hot and delicious. You could smell it outside, 2 blocks away. I will go back everytime I come to paddle the Au Train river.

I consider myself a pasty coinsure and to me, they've got the best pasties in the UP! I just wish they wouldn't run out so soon of the warm pasties but I think they're getting more recognition so everyone wants them.

Best pasties around! I come back home from North Carolina every year and this is always the first stop. Yes, there are decent pasties in town but these make the 10 minute drive totally worth it!

Great place to get what you need, THE BEST PASTIES AROUND...FRESH DAILY or cold or frozen ....need something quick and on the go sandwiches, sub sandwiches, salads or you just don't feel like cooking, great service.

I do not understand the negative comments. We visited the Au Train Grocery in the summer of 2017. We bought a bunch of their pasties and then went back to buy more to take home. Prices were reasonable, and the pasties were great. My kids still talk about how much we enjoyed them. The people were friendly. We were glad to have nice place to pick up a few items we needed. We live in Flint, but the next time we go back to the UP, these Trolls will stop by the Au Train Grocery.

I've been traveling around the UP for the last week or so. This is the place you WISH was on every corner. Pasties to die for, local baked goods (shout out to Trenary cinnamon bread), Michigan pop and beer. Also, if you're making mixed drinks and need some weird curacao type deal, they gotcha. I wish I could take this place with me on the rest of my trip. PS - thank you woman at Northern Waters who gave me the hot tip on this place.

Their caramel apple cookies are AMAZING! Was with my niece visiting. We purchased 2 cookies and ate them probably 20 miles down the road. If it were not for it being a blizzard, I would have turned around and purchased the rest of them.

Stop in and get one of the best pasties around!! They have a little bit of everything here.. a good stop before your canoe trip... right along the snowmobile trail.. and walking distance to the mighty Lake Superior!!

Home made pastys are to die for, if you like fine chopped ingredients like I do, not a thick crazy crust either, perfection for a pasty, homemade soup usually daily and a couple selections of salads to go.

Our local grocery...it's great for a quick stop. Visitors enjoy stopping in for a quick bite to eat. Beer selection is pretty decent too! They carry Jilbert's ice cream which is also really good!!
