5 stars!!The owner was so accommodating to us and the staff were superb throughout our stay!Our room was so clean and bedding was fresh; the rooms were decorated nicely and smelled so clean.The breakfast offered was excellent and the coffee was great.The outside deck was phenomenal with the wooden swings and picnic table, where we enjoyed the sunset.We were given the feeling of 'home' and that means a lot to us.We will be back to visit again!

This place was amazing! Very friendly staff, especially the front desk pup! Cutest hotel mascot I have ever seen in my life. This place was is top notch clean. I rented out the jacuzzi room. The tub was more than excellent. Very spacious as well. Very spacious shower. 10 out of 10 would recommend. I'm actually calling today to make another reservation and noticed I didn't give this place a review yet. If I want a little vacation out of saginaw, this is definitely going to be the place from now on. I cannot remember the name of the restaurant, but there is a little restaurant across the street that serves some of the best breakfast I've ever had in my life. 10 out of 10 would check them out as well. There's a close grocery store too. Everything you need for a little getaway out of the big city.

Our stay was great! The staff was super friendly, very accommodating, clean and nice. The rooms have a bar to hang things but no closet to hang clothes. Limited towels in room, no extra pillows or blankets. Otherwise great! We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Horrible. Stopped here because my baby needed a rest from our road trip. Lights were on in the main lobby, door was open and there was a sign at the front desk to say "if not at front desk then call this number." I called the number to reach a rude person that said they don't accept reservations after 11 pm. What? It was 11:20pm you've got to be kidding me. I have three kids in the car, a baby that was hungry. I asked for a room rate, he told me, I then asked if I could dial him right back. I wanted to consult with my daughter, as she was nervous to stay anywhere like this. We were sitting outside the motel ready to check in. The phone conversation basically ended because he said that we should continue chugging down the road and mumbled something else and litterly hung up on me! I've never in my time traveling had this happen.This motel does NOT want business and you could tell. I'll make sure to tell everyone I know what happened.No open gas stations for an hour. My screaming baby.Shame on you. It wasn't like 2 am, it was a few minutes past your "time" you had no flex? What about putting a sign at the front desk that says we don't take reservations after 11pm. Turn of your vacancy light. Geez.Terrible place. 0 stars but Google makes you put 1 by default.

Floors up and down. Smelled like it had been a smokers room for 20 years yet was a non smoking room. I'm a smoker myself but can't stand the way it makes a room smell and don't smoke indoors myself. Worst of all it almost seemed like there was some kind of overall damp smell in the room. Tried opening windows and that seemed to make it worst. Place was so bad I chose to sleep in my truck.Rooms: Floors up and down. Smelled like it had been a smokers room for 20 years yet was a non smoking room. I really enjoyed my stay here. My room was very comfortable and clean! I loved the patio situation out front - I spent the evening on the swing with the outdoor heater nearby. It was so lovely! My only suggestion is that if you're a light sleeper like me, ask for a room at the end of the hall. I could hear both neighbors TVs all night and when people walked upstairs.

We got here around 10-11 PM at night after a bad experience with a different motel that caused us to leave right when we got there, and was very pleased with this motel. Our room was amazingly very clean, and the service at the front desk was quick and easy. The motel's front office has a cabin feel with breakfast available in the morning for you. I have absolutely no complaints with this motel, as it was amazing. One of the people at the front desk even helped us in the morning with finding a decent orv trail to go on. He recommended us Sand Lake's trail, which was pretty nice to go on for hours on end. I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely come here again if I ever revisited Au Gres.

Highly recommended this place was VERY clean! You could smell the fresh linens when we walked in! had a TV and free wifi. Had a area by the front desk for breakfast with tables. Had fresh bagels, cream cheese, peanut butter, yogurt, orange juice and coffee that you could access anytime of the day. Very friendly staff and nice banquet area would stay here again!

Great place to stay overall. Room was very clean and tidy, bathroom seemed recently remodeled as well. Good water pressure, everything worked, couldn't ask for much more. There is also a simple continental breakfast with bagels, cream cheese, SunnyD, and yogurt. Nice family owned establishment. Also swinging benches and a bbq type area if you want to sit outside and relax or make your own food.

Completely new owners - they have a significantly cleaner attitude and facility. No carpet in rooms - bright clean floors. Only negative is the mirror in the bath is not tall enough for this 6'4" man to see his hair while standing up. Breakfast wss available at 0500 hrs. Perfect for getting out on an early fishing expedition ... thank you K2 Edmonds

Motel is clean. But beds are uncomfortable and they only have firm pillows. When I worked for a motel they had 4 pillows on the bed two soft two firm. And there should be a mini fridge and microwave. When u get in the room during the winter they dont have the heat on so your room is freezing until it warms up. The shower is to small.

Building is nice, rooms look recently remodeled, has a continental breakfast, the counter person was polite and friendly, sadly there is NO pool😭 and the walls seem a little thin you can hear EVERYTHING from the other rooms and hall but those are minor complaints. This hotel was clean and is pet friendly.

Charged 250$ for smoking fee never even smoked in the damn room this is bullshit. We had already checked out of the hotel and everything was copacetic until a relative thought we were still checked in at the hotel and dropped off our thanksgiving leftovers. So we returned to get the food. When I arrived the owner was outside smoking and I was smoking as well. I was informed that everything was good that our room had been cleaned and the food was on the front desk. So if everything was good and my room had already been cleaned then why wasn't something said when I picked up my food about the smoking. Because nothing happend that's why. She saw that I was a smoker and took it upon herself to call me over twenty four hours later and tell me that we we were being fined yet they have no proof. And why don't they because we didn't smoke in the room nor did we smoke on the property during our stay.

95 bucks for a room smaller than an average bedroom. The floors were wood like tiles that were freezing to walk on. Shower had barely any room to move in. A real pos room. The heater blew in cold air from outside..it was like 15 degrees outside. Warning to travelers. Stay away!

It was so cold in there it was impossible to sleep. The owner complained about having to leave her dinner to check us in. The bed was supposed to be a full, and seemed like a twin. There wasn't even complimentary shampoo to go around. The floor was wooden and freezing. It was a waste of money. We should have drove to Tawas.
