Why has customer service changed so drastically.4/13/2024 apx 11:45 a.m.I went to Dollar General today( store 6143) and the bread was not priced, this happens, no big deal. I see a lady and I ONLY know she works there because when I walked in she was behind the register. She was not identifiable by a Dollar General uniform or name tag.So I ask her, “Excuse me, do you know how much this bread is”. She did not hear me because she had pods in her ears. (As seen in the below picture)Once she looked up and saw me, she said, “huh”, so I repeated myself. She proceeded to tell me she did not know the price and it should be under the bread. I said, “I know but it’s not that’s why am asking”. She walked over and checked to see if the price was present. She continues to tell me she did not know the price. She did not say I will check for you. She just placed her pods back in her ears and went on working.I got in line to get a price check then continued shopping. When I got in line to check out, a cashier was helping the customer in front of me, and the same unhelpful employee walked up to the cashier and showed her a text message. The cashier looked at me, laughed, went back to the text and said something to the girl. All this while helping a customer. I asked was that referring to me, I got an indirect reply with a chuckle. So I proceeded to check out and go to my vehicle. I went back in and the 2 employees are having a conversation about what just happen. One of them spots me standing there and they play it off. So I proceed to ask for the correct corporate information. The cashier also explained to me that because she’s behind the counter she had no problem price checking an item, but if employees are on the floor doing other things and they don’t necessarily have time to price check an item. The cashier was very pleasant, indeed, but again no clothing or name tag to represent that she was an employee, if she had not been behind the register.So I ask again, what has happened to customer service? What has happened to something on the employee to signify they are an employee? When did listening to your music while working, leading to not hearing customers, become a thing. When did wearing your street clothes at work, instead of a uniform or at least yellow top and black, bottoms, become a thing?

Very run down, I almost kept driving because I didn't think it was a Dollar General. Entrance is also super steep, so if you have a sedan have fun exiting without scraping.

Store was older and really run down looking. Bars on the windows and doors. Not many people shopping here. Seemed like it was in a run down neighborhood. Trash all over the parking lot, ground and sidewalk. The only positive and redeeming quality to this store is the very kind employees.

The workers and customers of this store are at risk of heat stroke. The poor workers are in such heat that they are vomiting in the store from heat. The manager has tried to help and the workers try to help but the ac units are not working for months now. the store owner/ corporate has not fixed them and it's averaging 88-92+ in the store. The venders are even complaining about the heat and that It's hotter in the store then out side and it's so hot that the products are melting and new coolers just purchased a month ago have over heated and broken down. Multiple customer complaints go ignored and i think the store is loosing alot of money because products are going bad from heat while still in coolers. The corporate managers not the store level has failed the customers as well as they have failed the staff forcing these poor workers to work in 85+ Temps ignoring the staffs maintenance request and ignoring multiple customer complaints and failing to maintain a safe and functioning work site.The dept of labor requires that "companies maintain a safe and functional work site" and in this area the corporate managers have repeatedly failed these customers and staff. I recommend a visit and if you agree then maybe a call to corporate. Maybe if we flood there office with calls the will eventually fix the safety concerns that are putting staff and customer alike at risk.

I am very pleased with my visit to dollar general in Albion. I was greeted by a young lady with the name Ariana. I wasn’t only greeted with a smile but she helped me find the few things I was there for I was in and out so quick definitely a happy camper. I wanted to write this review so that Ariana can be recognized she deserves so much credit for the things she does. Keep it up. Thank you!!!

Customer service is pretty good there but the bathroom is the nastiest bathroom I've ever seen in my life. I mentioned it to a worker and they shrugged it off and said I gotta get down there and clean it. There's a used pad for crying out loud! Thing is I went in there a month before and it's the same as then. Also my mom mentioned it before and the worker told my mom "I don't get paid to clean that" My mom said she hasn't seen that particular person there anymore but still. They really need to get to work and clean that whole place up.

Run down. Parking lot is always a disaster, trash everywhere. No carts to shop for your items because theyre broken or people steal them. Long lines and some serious stocking issues. New DG is much better

Very dirty store!!! Looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years!Staff are never friendly, and they don't acknowledge customers. Smiles? Never!Prices are decent though. The only good thing about this store!

It's hard for me to recommend any place that has such huge potholes in the parking lot. This seems like an older location or it might have previously been a different store because the building seems old to me. The staff has always been very friendly towards me when I've been to this store.

The store wasn't stocked the best and I feel it was missing things the other dollar General in town carries... It was clean though and the restroom has public access unlike the other store...

Out of the 2 Dollar Generals in Albion, MI this one is better. It's more organized than the other & seems to have a better variety of personal care products as well as pet products.

Don't appreciate the so called assistant manager, STEVEN, looking my fiance up and down like she's a piece of meat and when she bends down, incredibly inappropriate and I will be contacting the district manager about it.

One of the dirtiest and ill-stocked DG that I have ever been to. I only stop here if I don't want to go further away from my friends house, but they usually don't have what Im looking for.

They do not stock shelves, it's a dirty a disgusting place e the bathroom is in a basement, and is nasty as well staff seems to be nice enough I came at 8 am but they were not there till 8 30 am terrible place

They need more stuff in there like men's body wash and winter boots for men you need more socks and therefore men they need more underwear for men t-shirts at Dollar General especially here in Albion Michigan

Low stock and rude cashiers. They only have two check out "lanes" and most times only one is open and the other covered in non-stocked merchandise. I wouldn't recommend this store.
