Great experience! We arranged to bring our hockey team and families to Bob's Place for a team lunch. We called a couple of weeks in advance and Taylor made sure that we were well taken care of. The whole back room set up and ready for us. Food was great (cheese curds were fantastic!), the kids played the arcade games and pool tables, and the parents were able to relax and watch games on the multiple TVs in the party room. The staff was well organized, friendly, and very accommodating.

Stopped in for a bite to eat. Our first time ever eating in Alanson.Great menu selection. We had burgers. I must say, the best burger I ever had. Mushroom/Swiss. Huge burger! Done the way we requested. The mushrooms tasted like they were fresh picked. Big order of onion rings. Very clean atomosphere and great service. I highly recommend to you to stop in at Bob's Place!

Lovely small town restaurant with a family atmosphere. Decked out in country/outdoors decor, Bob's place is welcoming and warm. The staff seems extra nice and greets you with a relaxed but efficient atmosphere. But the real star here is the food! We had dinner and ordered the Honey Battered fried chicken, the Prime Rib French Dip Sandwich, and the Spaghetti with meatballs. The chicken was crispy crunchy outside but juicy, tender, and flavorful inside. The French Dip was one of the best Ive ever had. The meat fell apart and was rich and tasty. The spaghetti came with huge homemade meatballs and was tangy spicy and zesty! Really good! We were all super full from the generous portions. Even the bill was easy to swallow. We will definitely return when we are in the area again. Thank you!

Parking could get hanky on the busy season. We stopped in at the end of February around 10am. We got a parking spot right or front but it quickly filled up.We were shown the specials board and tools to seat wherever we'd like. We opted for a table by the window to watch the traffic from highway 31.Waitress came soon afterwards to take our drink order and then returned to take our order.I ordered the Monte Cristo special and hubby ordered the burrito. Mine was delicious with the french toast, but it wasn't breaded but still yummy. I works definitely order this again. The home fries were crispy and seasoned well. The burrito was good and filled with meat and cheese. He got it topped with beer cheese and liked it.Prices are average, $13 for the Monte Cristo and $11 for the burrito.Love trying out local places and this one is a winner...stop in for good food and friendly service.

Decided to try it out again the other day as dining options are limited in the Alanson area. I guess I figured it being new owners it would be ran differently. I was wrong of course. The kitchen clearly doesn't care about the the quality of food that goes out. It was not very busy and it took close to 20 minutes for one order of firesticks to come out. I don't mind if they are actually cooked. They came out and were luke warm on the inside. The Tortilla shell should have been golden brown. Sent them back to have them cooked longer and they were just thrown in the microwave. They came out hot and soggy. At this point it was a lost cause. From how we were greeting upon arrival to the time it took to make a simple drink. I was reminded why we stopped dining there.

Excellent food and service! Had the two piece cod basket and hubs had the French dip. The tartar and cocktail sauces with the cod were so good. Traveling with a 5th wheel so worried about parking but was able to park right across the street.

Alanson, MI is a quaint river community just outside of Petoskey and Harbor Springs. Known for their fish (Perch and Whitefish) they have a nice selection of comfort food.

Very nice atmosphere as soon as you walked in. I felt invited like it was my own hometown. Service was very attentive and met some great people. I got the cod dinner, and it did not disappoint at all. Fineshed with a carrot cake that was delectable as hell. Al in all hone run of a place if your looking for good eats good service and good people

I have been coming to Bob's place my whole life, so happy it got restored by the new owner. The food is consistently delicious. I love the wings, burgers, and caesar wrap but all the food I've had here is amazing for bar food. The staff is always kind. This place is a gem in a small town. They have been sprucing this joint up recently (new bathroom decor, open mics, events) but have stayed true to its roots keeping the original signs & layout. There is some rich history & I guarantee that you won't find better bar food in this area. My family used to have a cottage in Alanson so this place is very nostalgic for me. If you have or are renting a boat you can take it out on the surrounding lakes for the day and stop here for lunch. Bob's By Boat is the way to do it if you ask me, but it doesn't matter if you drive, swim, walk, or boat here... just make sure you go!

Great service and awesome food at this classic eatery in world renown Alanson ,MI. Get a pastry at the Dutch Oven and then fill your gills at Bob’s! Nothing tops the Big Ben burger! Stop at the inland waterway museum too!

Better Food & Service than most. The Chef is good, real good! Better than the chain restaurants that we like. Far above the average. Fair price. Experienced and friendly wait staff, bar section also. Now Alanson, MI has 2 of the top 10 restaurants north of M-72.

We showed up around 4pm on a Sunday with a group of 20 people. 4 groups of people. Food came out fast, and our waitress did a great job.Food was delicious!!Great job, wish I could give more than 5 stars!!✴️✴️✴️✴️✴️✴️✴️✴️✴️✴️

I am extremely disappointed with the new changes. I loved going here with my family when they still served breakfast and had the food bar. Now there’s one area open that’s near the bar. There was one staff member that was friendly and she was drinking at the bar. Our waitress gave us terrible service. We cleared our own table 3 times. I would be way more understanding if the was busy but she had two, two tops. When I received my bill I chocked. I could have went to the Depot across street and paid a quarter less with better service. Bummed me out.

Restaurant was recommended by a friend. We were told that they were short staffed. We came in at the end of lunch. We ordered onion rings and the polish roses. Onion rings came out and were great. Food took a long time. We ordered Bob's Mini Mac burgers and fries. The buns were over toasted and very crispy on top, most likely sat under heat lamps too long. The burgers were very well done. The burger needed to be flattened out a bit to fit the bun entirely. Fries were luke warm. Polish roses finally came out after the food was delivered.
