What a wonderful group of professionals! I was recommended PawSteps from my primary vet to ensure my Mini Rex rabbit was growing healthy. I was very grateful to get a late evening appointment to work around my business!

After taking my pets here for 11+ years (3 cats and 1 dog), I had ignored multiple red flags and warnings from others regarding this practice. I received a call from a staff member requesting to have my dog seen biannually. When I stated that this was unnecessary, this staff person stated that Dr. Sawyer required it for my dogs thyroid problem. This was news to me. After reviewing his last labs from his previous visit, there was no indication of a thyroid problem. I quietly looked for another vet, but Pawsteps saw a post on Facebook (to which I never mentioned anything about them) where I was looking for recommendations of local vets. This started some sort of very unprofessional blame game email war, where it was my fault that his employees miscommunicated diagnoses, and I should have asked to speak with a supervisor. They even copied their emails into my pets medical records. My new vet (who wasn't accepting new clients at the time) took us on and stated that she couldn't believe how far this was taken. The picture attached was of a biopsy of a small lump. When I arrived to pick up my dog, Dr. Sawyer mentioned that the lump was deeper than he had initially thought 😳. As you can see, this incision was extremely large.

I can't say enough great things about Pawsteps & the amazing staff. My nephews cat was very sick, & spent 2 days trying to find a vet who would take new patients AND get her in quickly. Pawsteps was the ONLY vet that cared enough to get us RIGHT IN, within the hour, where she was so tenderly treated. Sadly, our lil fur baby had to cross the Rainbow Bridge, & I couldn't have asked for kinder, more patient, & accommodating people! They let me take as much time as I needed, to say goodbye, & gave us time to choose what we wanted for her final resting place. I know it's not our favorite thing to think about, when our pets are sick, but finances are just a part of owning/caring for a pet, so I also want to add that I was absolutely SHOCKED, & very relieved, when I saw the final bill. I thought I would've been paying twice that amount, & it STILL would've been worth it, but it was definitely an unexpected surprise. These people are WONDERFUL, so I really hope you'll give them a shot!

PawSteps has the most incredible staff I've ever encountered. They are so professional and really care about your pet and their well being. Dr. Barr is incredibly kind, knowledgeable and so helpful. I cannot say enough good things about PawSteps and their staff. They go above and beyond to make sure your pet is happy and healthy. I would recommend them to anyone.

When your dog gets misdiagnosed with allergies, when he really has an autoimmune disease that was most likely triggered from his neutering. 4 years later and we have the correct diagnosis from a different provider who doesn't require us to drug your dog for an appointment. This was just one of the issues we had, there were plenty more. I would do your research when selecting veterinary providers.

I would give them more than 5 stars if I could. All my animals will go to Pawsteps forever! We have been with them for the last almost 2 years- they helped us with a new diabetes diagnosis in our dog and a bladder obstruction in our cat. We unfortunately had to send both to the rainbow bridge within 45 days of each other. They were so compassionate, understanding and made an impossible decision and process so comforting. As a hospice nurse, they gave my fur babies the death that I always hope to give my patients and made it the most dignified and beautiful experience. Thank you Pawsteps- especially Emily, Dr. Barr and Dr. Altobelli for everything you do.

We have been loyal patrons of PawSteps for years. Our cats have been cared for by several of the doctors and technicians. Each and every time I have been so impressed with the professionalism and attentiveness we receive. You can tell they truly care about your animals and make individualized recommendations to keep them healthy. In addition to their top notch care for our pets, they are also amazing at communicating both during and after visits and are completely transparent with costs. Like any branch of health care, treatment is not inexpensive but I truly feel with PawSteps you get what you pay for and beyond. I’ve brought my pets to quite a few veterinarians through the years and PawSteps has exceeded all other experiences. I trust them completely with the care of our pets and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for someone to care for their fur babies.

Today was my first visit to pawsteps! I’ve only heard good things about them, and it is all true! Clean from the second you walk in with a comfortable vibe! Dr. Mike and the team truly made us feel welcomed and all questions answered. I can’t wait to continue this relationship with pawsteps!

Very impressed and pleased! Dr. Sawyer and his staff were very attentive and cared about answering all our questions. My dog is usually a bit shy in new places, but he sensed the warm vibes and took to them right away. 5 stars all the way!

The staff at PawSteps go over and beyond to make your animals as comfortable as possible and happy. Our three kitties are like children to us, and we are so happy with the way they treat and care for them. Reasonably priced, Skilled and Compassionate Personnel, its all we have ever wanted in a vet. We found them due to close proximity, but will be returning because of the great staff. They work with you to find solutions to your beloved animals, and they do it with warm compassion. We HIGHLY recommend PawSteps and their fantastic staff. You and your pets will not be disappointed.Even our shy Salvador fell in love with all the ladies at the office. Belly rubs all around!

The staff is super friendly and the vets are very knowledgeable. My dog actually likes going to the vet. They have become a little expensive over the past year. Not so pricey that the bill makes me do a double take but the prices seem to have gone up. They are very upfront about the cost of everything though. I always go to the desk knowing what the bill will be, since I have discussed it with the vet. Overall, we are very happy here.

I really can't recommend PawSteps enough. After receiving less than ideal care for my elderly dog's arthritis I came to this Clinic and they took care of him right away and were able to provide the pain relief that he needed. Not only where the staff courteous and polite, but the veterinarians were incredibly thorough and knowledgeable on how to evaluate my dog. Not only do we receive excellent care here, but we also are well informed about the cost of care in advance and the treatment options are discussed in very good detail. It makes me feel very confident about the health of my dogs and cats when I take them here.

We've been bringing our dogs here for as long as we've had them. The staff are friendly and helpful, always willing to answer questions about anything concerning your animals health and well-being. And the quality of care has always been excellent, never had an issue with anything they've done for our dogs. They really are kind and willing to help out as much as possible. Our first dog passed away suddenly while we were on vacation in Maine, she was with us. When we called the clinic, frantic because we had no idea what had happened or what to do, they helped us through it and we're extremely kind during a time where we were at a total loss. The people here really are the best, highly recommend their services.

I took my DLH cat to Pawsteps and they did a fantastic job with her care! The team at PawSteps treated my kitty with the care that I would expect for myself from my own doctor. From the start, booking was smooth and easy, and everyone I spoke to throughout the visit process was kind, courteous, and professional. Online booking is a huge plus for me, and the info offered on their website is valuable and well laid out.The price for her care was reasonable, and they were upfront about the total cost before they took her in for her appointment. They were also courteous with a follow-up call the next day to check up on the kitty and make sure she wasn't having any negative side effects from the recent vaccines. All while I know they are swamped with other patients along with juggling the new responsibilities and restrictions from COVID.5/5, Excellent care team. Can't imagine myself taking my pets to a different vet at this point.

I have 99.9% good things to say. The staff is incredibly friendly. I feel like the care is top notch. I took my dog in to make sure she was properly inoculated for the kennel, and they actually helped me save money by letting me know she was all set on certain vaccines until a later appointment date. My, one and only, complaint is that it does feel like they try to sell me on various medications my pet likely doesn't need. That said, it's possible they're just doing their due-diligence and making me aware of all the options. It just *feels* like a sales pitch.Edit: My dog has been here more than a few times now, and I'm 100% standing by my 5 stars. Everyone is so friendly and genuinely caring about the animals brought in. I also appreciate the response from Sean regarding my complaint - and I will even say I haven't really had the "sales pitch" perception since I wrote the review. Maybe it was a one-off thing.

I keep hearing how everyone is short staffed. They said they take my dog for therapy. They took all her records from the specialist and vet. They had the time to do that, but then turn around and decline her for treatment. This therapy is 15 minutes top. I told them my dog is in pain and this is unfortunate. They replied, “with I’m sorry.” They offered no guidance. This is so upsetting. My husband and I are both in the medical field and we never turn away our patients or make the claim they will and say no.

Edit: They were nice at first, but after a year or so the attitude in the staff changed. The technicians are the only genuinely kind staff members. I tried to talk to the vet about a $1,400 quote he gave me for a tooth cleaning and extraction for my 10 year old Dachshund but since they only accept credit as a form of payment I wanted to discuss other options and instead I felt I was spoken down to. Then when I tried to explain myself and our current situation, I was told they have a "zero tolerance" policy and was called a bully. They then made us feel unwelcome, immediately sent us our records when we didn't request them, and they told us multiple times to bring the dogs to another office, all because we wanted to talk about our concerns to our pet's vet.We brought our dogs to a different veterinary office in town than this one, and received so much more compassion and they actually listened to us, heard our concerns, and are more willing to work with us. Not to mention, the new vet we saw doesn't feel it's necessary to put my 10 year old dog under for a unnecessary "cleaning and extraction" when simoly brushing his teeth could take care of the problem, and that option should be explored first.

Can't say enough good things about this place! So much better than any previous vet experience I've had. Dr. Sawyer and the vet tech (can't remember her name!) were kind, patient and extremely helpful during our first visit. Very thorough too! Adrienne who works in the office has gone out of her way to help me on multiple occasions. So happy to have been recommend this place, and will continue to recommend to others!

We have taken our fur family members to PawSteps since Dr Shawn opened in the original location, Oliver (RIP), Taylor (RIP) and Stella Blue. Stella Blue, our 10 year old rescue pup is shy and skittish when I’m not with her in these situations and the staff there is amazing! They are very understanding, up front about cost and willing to work with you over time to get the tests, shots and meds she needs done. The best part is that Stella Blue now has no problems walking through the doors to go visit the docs now. Highly recommend all the vets here!

Phenomenal care. Honest, kind to the pets and the owners. They value their reputation and service above finances and their one negative review shows the clinic refunded the patient fully, and handled it with style.Dr Sawyer is a class act and brilliant, Drs. Claunch and Barr are also terrific. We travel an hour to see them and it is well worth it.

We just had to put our family cat to rest. It was my first time having to do such a thing. But everyone at pawsteps were extremely professional, while also extremely human. This place and the staff i dealt with made our situation alot easier to deal with. Pawssteps and their staff get 5 stars and 2 thumbs up from me and my family. I highly recommend them and will be taking our dog to their doggy day spa in tge very near future. Thank you pawsteps

We have been with Paw Steps for many years now and yesterday my 13 year old chocolate lab Murphy couldn't walk, was whimpering and panting, was shaking and had an accident in the house. I called Paw Steps in an absolute panic and the receptionist was very calm and told me to come in right away. I rushed him there and was met with the nicest most understanding people. (Of course I was a blubbering mess!) His vet is normally Dr Sawyer but Murphy sees Dr Conch on occasion and she is amazing and sweet, I cant say enough good things about her. She explained everything to us, Murphy is on medication and we now have an almost healthy lab who is back to normal. I love Paw Steps so much everyone there is amazing and I again cannot say enough good things about this vet center. I Highly recommend them!!!!!

This one-star review is based on a single appointment which occurred November 4, 2022. In fairness to this business, among over two-dozen appointments that took place between 2003 – 2016, each and every visit would have received 5-stars.

As a first time cat owner, they were so understanding with all my questions! They were able to get my cat in for a dental cleaning very quickly since the vet near my home was booked for a few months! Everyone was wonderful, and I would recommend PAWSTEPS to anyone! Caring, loving, very well priced...just simply great!

Two months ago, our thirteen year old cat, Monkey, suddenly became disoriented with random circling and wild eye movements. Thankfully, PawSteps agreed to see Monkey within an hour. The Vet at PawSteps patiently explained our options. We decided to follow a regimen of steroidal medication. The Vet even spoke with the pharmacist when he spoke of changing to a different med since the pharmacy had run out of the prescribed med. The vet felt uncomfortable with the med change. We located a pharmacy with the exactly prescribed med. Monkey favorably responded to the medication and has been all better since. I can't say enough good things about PawSteps. We started with Dr. Sawyer years ago and have always turned to his practice for help with our pets. Many thanks to PawSteps!
