The worst company to deal with in western Massachusetts. They get the award for sure.hope they go out of business because they don't deserve to own it,they have no idea what customer service is, there cocky, rude,un professional, people,I've already contacted harman stove Inc. And they are very up set to hear this.hopefully harman will pull there line from them.And Doug and Vicki, F.U.4/12/24Now this company is making up lies,and I hate liers,but it fits your poor Attitudes.Just for the public to know,and on top of everything else I've said, they are dirty little liers,liers,who in there right mind would ever trust them,Good going Doug and Vicki, liers. I had a woodstove installed by these folks about 6 years back. They did it improperly on several counts, resulting in leakage and chimney fires. I am still uncovering more of what they did incorrectly. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

We had visited The Fireplace Showroom in Whately, MA.earlier this year. They have an excellent showroom. Many fireplaces and heating units were on display. The staff was excellent, courteous, and very knowledgeable. After the visit, we decided to order a fireplace. Throughout the entire purchase from start to finish Wendy in customer service was very helpful in answering all of my questions.The install went very smooth with completion in a just few hours. I am very pleased with the finished product, and in the decision to choose The Fireplace in Whately for our home improvement. I would highly recommend them.

My fireplace was installed about 3 years ago. Maybe 4. I was having issues. Made a phone call, set up an appointment with Chad, and today he arrived, fixed the problem and made me very, very happy. He showed up with many parts, he wasn’t sure what I needed, pinpointed the issue, made the repair, cleaned up and on his way in 90 minutes. He was pleasant, knowledgeable, and shared info about the fireplace I wasn’t aware of. All around 5 STAR service.

I had a similar experience to another reviewer. We first visited the show room in August, and I took a day off of work in September in order to meet the Fireplace folks at our house for measurements/inspection. I was told I’d hear back the next day with an estimate, but needed to call and email multiple times—and eventually stop by the store—to get a response. Came up with a plan, and begged and begged for an installation date which they hesitated to give me. I asked multiple times (kindly) if maybe they didn’t want the job since they weren’t getting back to me. I couldn’t understand it. They assured me they did want the job, and finally booked an installation date for late November.The installation date came, they showed up and said it was too windy to do the installation. Winds were blowing at 5mph. It was not especially windy, and I worried that we might not get a less-windy day, but I trusted them to know what they were doing. Rebooked the installation for 3 weeks later. They called the morning of the new date to say they couldn’t come because of the snow and ice on the roof. I went outside and there was NO snow or ice on the roof. The ground was soft. Nothing is wet or slippery. Zero wind. I took a video to send them to show the conditions and told them I really thought if they were here, they’d agree that these conditions are as good as it gets, especially for winter. But Doug (fireplace store dude) held firm, saying it was his call. I asked again if maybe they didn’t want the job, and Doug finally admitted that he didn’t.But now it’s late December. I wish I had run the other direction as soon as they were dragging their feet about booking back in September. We had a positive experience with the Fireplace in the past, but it seems like maybe Doug isn’t up for the job anymore. I don’t want him to do anything that doesn’t feel safe to him, but maybe it’s time to hire some new, younger, more nimble installers?If you need a chimney liner or the job will require roof access, don’t waste your time with this place. Exceptional service and value! We needed to have the blower motor replaced on our 10 + year old Harmon insert. The mounting screws were badly rusted, and removing/replacing the motor was an extremely difficult job. The guys came and did this on Christmas Eve, and worked their tails off getting it done! Great service at a very reasonable rate! I highly recommend them!

Drove an hour and a half to get there from Connecticut and it was well worth the trip. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful family-run business with huge showroom and plenty of gas, pellet and wood stoves and fireplace inserts, grills, boat docks and lifts, outdoor furniture, fire pits, and more. We try to shop more locally, but in this case it didn't work for us. This place is the best and most helpful that we have come across in a long time. They answer emails promptly and are very helpful on the phone and in person as well.

Been doing business with them for years. usually parts for my pellet stove. Called Tuesday about my auger not working. They referred me to a man who also lives in Vermont. He came Thursday and repaired and cleaned the stove. It's working better than new. thanks.

I had had good experiences with the Fireplace up until today. I ordered pellets to be delivered to my house. I cleared the space in my barn for them as usual. I moved the old pallet out of the way so that it wouldn’t be in the way. There had a been two ripped bags of pellets on that pallet and the spill happened last night when it was very cold so I left them so I could come clean up the pellets (and use them) during the day when it is warmer. After the delivery people left, I realized that they had rolled my barn door off it’s roller. So now, I am unable to close my barn door in the *middle of winter* until I can find a few people to come *during a pandemic* to help me get my barn door working again. Then, they, for no reason I can understand, moved the old pallet and walked all over the pellets rendering them useless powder. I know it might not be significant to some people but pellets cost money and I am really upset that all those pellets were wasted at my expense. And they put the new pellets in a spot that is not at all where I wanted them and is blocking a bunch of my stuff. When I called to complain, the only thing that was said that a manager would be notified.

I can't recommend this place enough! I worked with Chad for over a year towards replacing my Harman Pellet Stove and he was patient and knowledgeable the whole way through. They have a great selection, awesome follow-through, and a fabulous team!!

I bought a Furnace in Fire Place last year. They were very accommodating with delivery and general support. I am really happy with my furnace which I have named "Rojelia"! They are very friendly and fair in their business. If you need to buy a wood stove or a furnace, the best place to get it is at Fire Place in Whately, Ma.Thank you for your help and wonderful service!

The technician that came to service my stoves was so polite and helpful. I went from having two stoves that burned poorly, to having two stoves roaring and burning perfectly. He was so patient and knowledgeable, I now know exactly how to keep them clean and running well. I cannot recommend their service enough (I bought the stoves from them as well and got a great deal). Terrible customer service. We had gone to the store to get a quote to replace our old pellet stove with a wood stove back in the early fall, with a baby due to arrive in the winter months we wanted to be sure the process was complete before the brutal cold. It’s now halfway thru February and still no word on even getting so much as a price for us. My wife had called numerous times in search of answers, as have I and every time we get the same run around that they’ll be sure to call back. I would not waste you’re time dealing with these people.

The vacuum switch on our Englander pellett stove needed to be replaced. We did order one on Amazon however wanted the problem fixed on the same day. It was cold out! Called around and the fireplace happened to have the part, they set it aside and were great when we arrived!

The fire place went above and beyond to ensure that we were satisfied with the work they did on our chimney. They even went through the trouble of ordering a custom cap to suit our oversized flu! Highly recommend them and wonderful people that work there!

Chad took care of our ailing old stove in time for our guests to enjoy a cozy fire. He was very friendly, efficient, and honest about the cost of parts and what the stove needed. Another company might have told us we needed a new stove (ours is 15 years old), but Chad simply replaced a few parts and the stove is up and working!

I bought a fireplace insert here and hired them to install it, but in the end, they decided they weren't willing to try to install the chimney liner because there are bends in my chimney. They refunded my money.
