After boarding at Ven-Elgers for 15 years I recently boarded my dog at Westport Dog Kennel and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. It's disheartening to know that my dogs became unwell while under their care.The staff seemed friendly and attentive,. While I understand that dogs can fall ill due to various factors, I expected a better level of cleanliness and attention to detail to prevent such incidents.Considering the negative impact on my dog's well-being and the overall experience, I cannot confidently recommend Westport Dog Kennel. It's crucial for pet owners to choose a facility that prioritizes cleanliness, communication, and the health of the animals in their care.

I pick up rescue dogs here from quarantine and the dogs are always well taken care of. Love that there is food and treats for sale if I needed them. Also they have a store dog who is a very good dog and likes pets.

Our dogs love this place - happily go in and come out well-groomed and fit! The staff is super nice and when we were in a traffic delay for pick up they understood and let us get them after normal hours.

I was supposed to pick up my dog from quarantine 1/9. This establishment has been working with Cenla for years and decided that on 1/9 they were going to need a special fecal test that “should have been done when the dog was in the south”. However Westport dog has not asked for this in the past few years but decided this time they would. My dog has been in quarantine an extra 24 hours with dogs that could potentially be positive for whatever it is they are testing for. Now it’s 1/10 and no one from this Westport dog will answer a phone call! Myself and 12 other dog owners could not pick up our dogs on the scheduled! Day. So now I sit here trying to plan my day and these people can not give us a curtesy call! I’m am so disappointed with my experience! Can’t wait to keep calling these people !

Westport Dog is great! Great people who know dogs and know what they’re doing. Our Basenji is not an easy dog to board. She happily walks into Westport Dog and is totally content. Love this place!

Wonderful staff and great facility. They provide boarding, grooming, daycare - you name it. They go above and beyond for local rescue groups, too. A group of people who genuinely care about the work they do and the little ones they help each day.
