I recently came into the store last weekend to poke around to see what the store had for flowers. I’m in the process of redoing our front, side and back garden. I was met by a very knowledgeable woman, Chris, who not only tested my soil, but also guided me in which plants will thrive best in each location and how to properly care and fertilize them as well. To say that she’s an asset to this location is an understatement! I’ve never gone into a nursery and left feeling fully confident that I could take on such a large task on my own with the knowledge that I was given. The rest of the staff is also kind, helpful and friendly as well. The store is always clean, tidy and organized when I visit. I am happy to say I find no reason to shop elsewhere for my garden/outdoor needs.

I like going to Smithland! They carry everything you need for indoor and outdoor animals and birds. The store is very well stocked, organized and clean. The people are very friendly and helpful. They’re prices are a bit on the higher side with some of their items being more affordable than Amazon. I’d prefer going there for all of our needs because they always have whatever we’re looking for without having to rush around to other stores..especially in Westfield traffic and pot holes!

Veronica was EXTREMELY helpful today as I have hand injuries, I asked for help and without hesitation she stopped what she was doing and helped me figure out what food was best for my cat! After giving me advice on cat food, she lifted the 50lbs of food into my cart and then 40lbs of cat litter. She then offered to bring it to my car and unload it into my trunk. I'm LITTER-ally beyond grateful for this employee.

Lovely place! Great customer service. We drove an hour here to buy a chicken coop. Staff were all so friendly and helpful. Helped us strap it in our truck for our long trip home. It survived the trip and will be a great addition to our flock. I have already recommended Smithland to some chicken friends for their coop needs.

Wonderful experience shopping at Smithland. Found everything I needed for the garden and then some. Found a great bird bath amongst the many other items I saw, and I had to take it home. Will recommend to all my gardening friends.

Everytime I go there, only a few times, I am amazed at the quantity of products available for my pet. So many great brands to choose from. So many other yard and garden products as well. Then there's the garden area, a lot of 1/2 price nursery items at this time.I always get lost in time when I go there, so much to see. Wonderful help and assistance, especially choosing the right products I'm looking for. Try this place. It has so much to offer 😊

I used to go to this place when it was Bob's and I loved it and I come to this place now at smithland and I still love it. The vibe is great, we love it but we also really love the sweet little baby bird in there. That is my best friend. Additionally, they got some good prices. They got some cool brands like Stella and chewies and arcana and they have a thing to wash your dog if you want to bring them there. And they got fish and some rodents and a lot of cool things and soda there still. So that's pretty cool that they continue doing that. But yeah sweet place. Definitely a good little stop to go to

We love taking our dog to the dog wash at Smithland in Westfield! It is very clean and has all the supplies we need to make the washing process nice and easy. The first time we went they did not have a place to anchor the lease on the drying table. I suggested it to the cashier and today they where there! Great customer experience!

Edit to my first 5 star review. I have actually stopped going because the staff was rude more than a few times. On the phone and in the store. Plus they were out-of the Daves Dog food so often i couldn't rely on it to feed my dog. Ended up ordering online through Ch... and Am.... Shows up at my house and i don't have to worry whether the staff at Smithland will be in a bad mood.Original review:Nice store, they stock Dave's Soda and Pet Dog food. Friendly staff!

I went here after I found that gnats too up residence in my house plants. Manager Chris was wonderful and walked me through the store to find everything I needed to properly care for my plants and get rid of the gnats. She was very patient and knowledgeable. I would definitely shop here again.

Don't carry Nature's Logic kibble even though the other locations do, and they carry other kibbles from Mid America Pet Foods. They should carry it across the board; huge inconvenience.

Smithland has wonderful employees that are absolutely willing to help you find whatever your looking for and they have a wonderful selection of things !! I was surprised when I walked through and seen all the great things they have! Definitely worth stopping in and spending some time in there and see for yourself all the great things they have you won't be disappointed they also have a dog bathing center where you can give your dog a bath 😀 also beautiful selection of plants, too much stuff to write in here I could just keep going on and on but absolutely go check out this place!!!!!

You should know your manager “Kris” Is one of the rudest people I’ve ever encountered at a store. I bought $250 worth of plants last week and two of them died instantly after watering them every day. I called and confirmed that with the receipt I could return them, then when I got there was accused of clearly not watering them and treated like a criminal for trying to return 2 out of 15 plants I bought. I’ve never been talked to by a store associate like that before, someone should teach that woman some manners or get someone who doesn’t hate other humans.

Great place for our jack russell, Ina 's food. She's a Stella & Chewy girl, which can be pretty expensive. Their prices are not as high as other local suppliers & they have specials. They also welcome dogs in the store, which is great for socialization for her. Staff & owner are friendly & knowledgeable. Fun place to visit!

The store is clean and organized. That's where it ends. I walked by 9 employees. Not one said hello. No thank you for my purchase either. Maybe I'm just old school... A simple hello and thank you go a long way. I probably won't go back.*** So, I went back. Today 5/26/21. The good. It's really clean. The store is very well stocked. The bad. They still don't acknowledge you. I didn't but anything this time. I looked around. I looked at the plants for a while. No one said hello or asked if I needed help. So I left. Prices are higher here then other sites in Westfield. Other stores in Westfield will actually make you feel welcomed. It's too bad because I wanted to like this place.

I used to like this place back when it was Kelly’s, but I just tried calling them to ask if they have something I’m looking for and to discuss water fountains for my pond, and the woman was so rude! She couldn’t get me off the phone quick enough. I was hoping to head there today to do some shopping for my garden and pond but now, per her suggestion, I will Google it to find another place for my pond needs rather than trying to work with the items they have available. I won’t be shopping here again.

They have a nice selection here. Unfortunately nobody offered to help me at all. When I asked a employee a employee in the garden a simple question she replied "sorry I'm not a expert " and walked off on her phone. I just think if you work with plants you should no about them.

The staff here know their stuff. I came in for plant advice, one of my joya plants is experiencing some sort of embedded bug and their staff was very helpful and informative and provided me with suggestions on how to care for it.

We went and used the dog wash they have here! It was a very nice set up and very clean! Definitely worth it, my dog does not care for baths at home so this is something she actually tolerates. Lol

We want to sincerely thank Jake and Jack, of Smithland, for their efforts in attempting to catch our dog, who had escaped the car and ran across Rte 20 to chase the train. My husband, Jake and Jack all ran until they couldn't run any more and the dog disappeared.Miraculously, a motorist found our dog, was able to coax him into her car deliver him to my husband, who was still by the side of the road. (God bless you, dear lady, whoever you are!)We brought our dog back to the store to thank Jake and Jack for their help and we were so touched by their concern. Jake applied a balm to our dog's paws and Jack soothed our very tired dog. Everyone there was so kind!We were struck by the love for animals both Jake and Jack had and by the kindness that motivated their efforts to help. We will always be grateful to them and to Smithland for being there. (And to the very kind lady in her car!)What an asset to the community Smithland is and how very lucky we are to have so many wonderful people in our community!

Surprised by how expensive plants were. They did have a percent sale but if you only buy one or two plants, it's not that much of a deal. Having a sale on mums, I expected more variety.

Washed my dog twice here. Staff are super quick and friendly. Everything works as it should and soups are always filled! Recommend this place for anyone looking to wash their dog.

The only two things my husband wishes they would leave the trays under the cat food. It is very burdensome to carry 36 cans or more for two cats in a basket. Just easier to carry 24-36 cans on a cardboard tray. Also my husband said the cashier rings up one can at a time at the register. Dave's Soda would count the same cans of food and ring them up once. Thank you
