On our annual "vacation ice cream tour" in the Cape, we always try at least 1 or 2 places we haven't been to before, and A Nice Cream Stop was on this year's list.The good: staff is very friendly! Cozy outside sitting area and the town is a nice place to walk and enjoy the ice cream.The bad: Extremely disappointed in the ice cream itself. I bought Cookie Dough and immediately noticed that it was bland. Very, very bland. The dough and chocolate chips were fine, but the ice cream tasted milky, not creamy and definitely not rich. At $7 for a *small* cone (!) - which was far higher than any other place we'd visited - it was a disappointment overall.To see if I was crazy, I immediately went down to Mac's on the Pier and tried a sample of the same flavor. The difference was immediate - THAT was excellent ice cream. The burst of flavor from even the small sample said it all. And - Mac's was $2 less, which is much more in line with competitors. (But really, there was no competition.)In reading other reviews, it appears that comments about bland vanilla-based ice creams are not uncommon, as are comments about how freakin' expensive the stuff is.Gave an extra star because the staff was nice, but this is really all about the ice cream, right?No question that we will not return.

After “extensive” testing, I can report these are the best milkshakes (in MA, known as frappes) in Christendom. Made with chocolate ice cream AND chocolate syrup, these technicians also carefully turn every shake while it’s in the machine, to ensure the ice cream gets fully integrated into the shake.The sundaes are also excellent, with generous applications of delicious homemade whipped cream.Please never change.

Great place for ice cream lots of flavors. I've been to all the ice cream places in Wellfleet multiple times. If I had to rank the top three I would put Emacks at #2 Pj's at #3 and Gelato Joy at #1 because they are the only one to make theirs in house and daily from what i understand.I would not hesitate to go to any of the 3.

What can I say that hasn't been said about this eclectic special ice cream shop? The ice cream is by far the best ever! Selection is excellent. Service is good it's always really busy because it's so good. Remember to bring cash that's all they accept. Also bring a great love of ice cream!

My friend and I got a scoop of the vegan ice cream in a cup two days and a row, which really impressed me that they offered a vegan option in the first place, and we both thought they were delicious! The vegan flavor changes every day, but one day was coffee fudge, and I was a little disappointed that my cup had basically no fudge pieces. I prefer ice cream to be chock full of stuff. Other day was raspberry with chocolate rice crispy chunks, which was bomb. Would be great to see more permanent vegan flavors in addition to the flavor of the day.

The ‘heaven’ flavor had no taste!! With a name like that you’d think it would be outta this world. The blueberry crumble was ok. Also, for two ice creams it was $19! I don’t think we’ll be going again.

Avoid at all costs. Ice cream was decent, but we asked for a two-scoop cup ($7) split into two cups so we could share, rather than both eating out of a cup. The girl said okay and gave us our two scoops in two cups. Then she charged us the price of two one-scoop cups, totaling $11. They shrugged and refused to charge us the expected price of $7.Definitely never coming back here.

OMG! This was the BEST ice cream we’ve ever had! I had the Coconut Almond Bar & my son had Chocolate Addiction…both were FULL of crunchy stuff & full of flavor! Will be back…THIS week! :)

One of the best little nuggets of an ice cream place around. Decided to stray from the usual and glad we did. Excellent ice cream. The banana brown sugar and marshmallow Oreo was phenomenal. Would visit again and again!

Really loved the ice cream. Both my mom and I had beantown buzz. Huge scoops and very good! Don’t forget that this is cash only!! There’s a bank across the street but it is easier to just have the cash already.

The ice cream they serve now is Emack and Bolio’s (a New England chain), but the shop must predate that. Chocolate Addiction is pretty great.

It would be great if they added that they are seasonal and that their hours change to reflect that so you don't waste time going there when they're closed.
