Sadly there were tons of dressage saddle pads, which was misleading about the focus of the shop. I have always understood Dover to cater to dressage and h/j, but not this shop. The staff were sniffy when I asked about help with being sized for tall boots. There were 3 staff members with time on their hands. They were extra sniffy when I asked about dress boots, for dressage. Message received. I went to a different shop, dressage boots acquired, plus some happy to help me service.

....have been a Dover Saddlery customer since it first opened and have been a fan for just as long! The Wellesley Massachusetts location (Dover's very first location) is staffed with incredibly knowledgeable salespeople! On a recent visit I was greeted with a smile and service that far exceeded what I expected for the type of purchase I was about to make. I had recently decided that it was time for a new pair of field boots and chose to visit the store rather than risk online-shopping-sizing-issues. I was immediately offered help in choosing the brand and style and they based it upon my specific riding discipline. The two salespeople took the time to expertly fit me into the boots and when it was determined that their in-stock boots were too tall, they ordered the correct size, they arrived quickly and I was again given another fitting until we all agreed that they were a perfect fit! This store consistently offers expert service and their manager is just as outstanding as their salespeople!

Staff are super friendly and helpful. My mom and I have gone to a bunch of different places to shop for helmets but the Dover staff are by the far the best at offering advice and fitting helmets! One of my go-to places when I need to buy anything horse related.

There are not enough stars to give to this store. After numerous attempts to outfit my daughter for her first show, by shopping online, I realized that I was going to need to go to the store. My fears of limited options and overpriced items were quickly put to rest by Sharon, Ariana, and Missy. They spent over an hour and a half with us. Never once did they appear impatient or in a hurry to be done. They understood that I was working within a limited budget and when we left my daughter was completely outfitted. Two words for this company - YOU ROCK! Retail stores could learn a lot by observing the staff here. In a time where everyone races to online shopping (raises guilty hand) or super stores, Dover Saddlery is a hidden gem. Thank you all so much for making a very expensive sport accessible to this working mom! 💜

What can I say, except we made a pilgrimage to be on location at the atore front. It is worth the visit.Clean, well stocked, friendly helpful sales girls.Inventory laid out tastefully! The smell of leather goods. Loved it.

Fun (hard for a tack shop not to seem that way to a horseperson, though), but definitely not my top pick. The dressage selection can be disappointing, little effort seems to be made to keep the sections for clearance items and barn supplies from collapsing into one another, and staff availability and patience varies wildly depending on how packed the space is.

Pretty awful experience here. The staff was not attentive or friendly, like other Dover’s I have been to. Instead they were snooty and also pretty unlowledgable about products and even how to use the cash register. Told me that it was basically my fault when a product of theirs had clearly broken of its own accord, when I tried to return/ exchange it. Don’t waste your time and go to SmartPak instead.

Friendly and helpful. Not going to lie... I don't like horses or anything about them. My 6 year old girl on the other hand loves them. So I know nothing at all and went here looking for things her trainer said I should get. They made sure that she got what she needed and that it all fit properly. They even gave me recommendations on where I could find something they didnt carry.
