i was not previously a client here, but they were able to squeeze me in to have a same day sick appointment for my pet mouse Maria. all the staff were incredibly nice and professional, and when i walked into the building it was extremely clean. they asked me thorough questions about my pet's information and living conditions. i unfortunately had to make the decision to euthanize my mouse, and the vet here gave me reasonable options and spoke from expertise, but let me make the decision myself with no pressure added. when i came back to the building, the staff were very comforting and made the process as easy as they could. despite them being busy, they were able to give me a private room for a while to say goodbye. they explained how the procedure would work, they sedated her and gave her back to me so she would fall asleep in my hands and have that be the last thing she remembered, and then they took her back to euthanize her. the staff were so comforting through the whole process and gave me tissues. i opted to take her remains home to hopefully give her other mouse friends some closure, and i wasn't expecting how nicely they handled her remains. they gave her to me wrapped in a cloth in a bag with her name on it. they also collected a few pieces of her hair to put in a tiny jar and took her paw prints for me without me asking them. i am so incredibly grateful for the staff here and what they've done for me they are really amazing. THANK YOU!!

I usually don’t leave reviews.. but my mom was going here with my cat, the cat was under her name at the time due to the fact I was a minor. So when I turn 18 I tried to put the cat under my name but I guess my mom missed a appointment so my cat can’t go there no more even if I put it her under my name. Which is really messed up because I don’t drive my mom don’t drive I have no access to another vet. I don’t know no one that’s drives. It’s just sad how heartless people can be now my cat has to suffer in pain because people want to be petty. This is supposed to be a veterinary clinic where the people that work here love animals…. But allow a cat to suffer knowing you could help.. special place in hell for heartless people like this

The team at Canterbury Tails has been amazing at taking care of our cat. Dr. Cleary and the staff have been great at working with our kitty who does not like to go the vet and has had to go often due to some health issues. Everyone I've met there is so nice & they work super hard to take care of our furry friends. Wouldn't take our girl anywhere else. :)

Very grateful for Canterbury Tails. My cats see Dr. Cleary, she is very kind, thorough, and knowledgable. The techs and office staff are always very caring and helpful. The evening hours are very convenient, and the email/postcards that when your pet is due next for a well check is super helpful. I know how busy veterinarian’s offices are right now and my cats and I so appreciate the care they’ve received from the compassionate hardworking staff at Canterbury Tails!

Oh, the staff and Doctor were so compassionate helping our Pipsqueak pass on to a better place. Great respect was shown to us as the pet owners. They provided private time for us and lit a candle out front to set a quiet tone in the clinic. Very appreciative of their kindness.

Great Veterinarian Team. Unfortunately, online booking is a scam. They placed us at another veterinarian office, no warning. When we couldn't make it to unannounced office. No show fee on top of threatening to cancel our future appointments.

Took my older cat to have a tooth extracted. The staff were wonderful, warm and friendly and taking plenty of time to answer all my questions. They also sent us home with more than enough meds to keep my kitty comfortable while she healed. And although dental work can be quite expensive, (they give a low and a high estimate) it ended up costing less than I was worried it would. The staff also follows up with a call the next day to check on the patient ☺️

About 3 weeks ago, I was in desperate need for a veterinarian for my dog. He was attacked by a porcupine and had 10 quills in his face. He was in a great deal of pain. We went to a very local animal clinic and they asked if he was a regular patient and then said they did not have the staff to take care of this dog. I decided to try Canterbury Tails in Ware. They were so kind and friendly when I called and said to bring him over right away. The staff was wonderful and concerned for my poor dog and the veterinarian was superb. She did a physical exam and some bloodwork. Using a short term anesthesia, she removed all of the quills within an hour. She was very thorough and I believe the fees were quite reasonable. The staff was excellent!! My dog was a very happy dog when he left. I was so pleased that I recently brought my bunny there for a physical. I have had pet house bunnies for 13 years and treat them like a part of the family. The veterinarian gave my bunny the most thorough exam that I have ever seen. She knew more than any of the veterinarians that I have worked with for 13 years. I would highly recommend them for your exotic pets!!

A year ago, we had one of our 2 guinea pigs develop a respiratory illness sudenly at night.. I planned on calling a vet to have her seen in the AM. Unfortunately she passed before we could call. Upset and concerned I reached out to Canterbury Tails to have the second guinea pig checked to make sure she was healthy. The staff were kind, empathetic, and saw Butterscotch the same day. Over the next 6 months Butterscotch needed to be seen for a variety of conditions. The staff were always kind, professional , caring, knowledgeable and provide amazing communication over the phone. We have since adopted another guinea pig and most recently a puppy. I would not consider bringing them anywhere else. The staff are true partners in the health of our 4 legged family members. We are beyond thankful for all of them! Their caring spirits and kindness is always present despite the stress of caring for a pet population that exploded during trying stressful times. Yes they are providing a service the public needs, but they also have families to worry about and life stressor during a pandemic just like the rest of us.

They are excellent, I don't have anything negative to report at all over the years we have been with them. Our pup has had a lifetime of epilepsy, over eight years, and we have been with Dr. Cleary for the last 3 years, from Belchertown Vet to Canterbury Tails. When we first started, they were very helpful in transitioning him from the prior vet, ensuring that there was no lapse in his medications, and taking the time to review his records thoroughly. They check in on his well-being quite frequently and are much more aware of his circumstances than the prior veterinarians that we have been to.They are responsive, helpful, kind, and quite genuinely caring for the animals under their supervision. They work with us to maintain our pup at his current seizure levels, to monitor his medications, they have worked with our medication suppliers and have always been diligent, thorough, and consistent, which is very important to us.I do wish they were open on weekends but I understand that it's a smaller clinic than most others we have been to. For us, emergency services are also very important under the worst circumstances, and it's a bit of a slog to get to VESH over 40 minutes away if and when the situation is time-sensitive, but this isn't their fault. They have worked with us to provide some options for those situations and we are very grateful for that, since other vets have always insisted that we basically be more cautious. For a dog that has cluster seizures every week or two (sometimes 7+ in a given cluster), it's not reasonable for us to get in the car every time he is having a third or fourth seizure to drive nearly an hour (nevermind the times when it occurs at 2 or 3 AM), and by the time we start to get truly worried, that driving can make a huge difference. We're happy that the team at Canterbury Tails has helped us resolve this, keeping our pup safe and all of us a little less anxious. Thanks much to the team and look forward to many more years to come!

We just moved to MA from AZ, so the level of service I got might be the norm here. The biggest difference between our former vet in AZ and this one was how open it was. I am used to them taking the dog in back and doing whatever needs to be done. Here the Dr. Herself did everything from trim nails to drawing blood. They did everything in front of me and described what and why behind each action. I appreciated the experience.

They are Extremely friendly, caring, compassionate, knowledgeable and will see You quickly. The cost of the initial exam is not expensive $70 but other fees such as Blood work are rather costly in comparison with my Regular Veterinarian. They also make every effort to keep your furchild calm and practice medicine without fear, even going to the extent of rescheduling and sending you home with medicine to give your pet to relax them before coming back the next day.If I didn't have 4 geriatric dogs that all require constant and Costly care and a well established relationship with my current Veterinarian I would definitely make them my primary veterinary care facility.

We have been working with Canterbury Tails and Dr. Anne for several years now. Dr. Anne and her staff are very professional and caring people when working with your animal. They treat your pet as it's meant to be treated, as a member of the family. They know how important caring for your "Fur Baby" is and go through each procedure with care and compassion for any and all ailments. Dr. Anne uses both Holistic and conventional treatments to get your animal to it's optimal health, where ever that happens to be. We have recently gone through end of life for 2 of our cats and would not have trusted anyone but Dr. Anne to take care of them. She's very knowledgeable about the process and makes it as gentle as it can be for both the animal and the their mom's or dad's. We stayed until our baby's had passed over for both and appreciated the care that was showed to us through everything. One of our cats had been on long term care and we all kept trying to get her better until we knew it was time to let go. Dr. Anne is also connected with other pet service providers in the area for further consulting and alternatives if needed. You can put your trust for your Furry family members to Canterbury Tails.

Very caring Vet! They have cared for my little Yorkie since we had him and they call to check up on him after visits. I love that. My own doctor doesn't even do that. They are thorough and professional, and very loving people towards pets. Highly recommend.

My kitty Parker can be a difficult cat. At close to 14 years old, he’s set in his ways. Anne and her team were exceptionally attentive and gentle to Parker as well as incredibly patient with his attitude. I very very highly recommend Canterbury Tails to anyone and everyone who loves their fur babies as much as they like be animals!!

I personally think this is better for exotics than the Belchertown location. Woman at Belchertown was very nice to my mouse, but knew nothing about how to care for ferrets, telling me to feed him apples and cucumbers and that he only needed 2 hours of free roam time. They also charged me two different prices for the same thing. Even though the Ware location is an hour away, I take all of my small animals/exotics there. The doctor is very knowledgable and the prices are reasonable and consistent. She was even able to pick up my rabbit who HATES being held! Saved both of my ferrets' lives and I am so grateful. The only issue I've had with this place is that I've asked how much it costs for my two rabbits to get neutered on multiple occasions. They say an estimate will take 3-5 business days to appear in my email and it never does. I check spam and everything. I guess I'm going to a low cost clinic because they always answer when I ask about the price. But it's really a small problem compared to how great this place is!

I have the most active and playful puppy ever! She is only 6 months only and she loves to run around all day in the back yard and play with my other 2 dogs but one day she wasn't acting normal at all. She was whining all day and all she wanted to do is be in bed which is not normal at all.I called every vet I could and nobody was taking new customers nor were available to see us, all they would say is ''Call tomorrow morning and we will let you know is there is a space open''. I get it! we are in a middle of a pandemic but my puppy needs help.Thankfully I found Canterbury Tails online, I called them and as soon as they heard her in the back crying they were able to squeeze her in THAT SAME DAY! They were very friendly and were able to find out what was wrong with her and even helped us apply for a credit card with 0% interest for 6 months! From now on we are brining all of our dogs to Canterbury Tails!

We can't say enough good about Canterbury Tails. We have a cat and dog, and they receive the best treatment. Everyone in the office is excellent and friendly. We always appreciate Dr. Rylestone's approach to preventive health as well as her manner of addressing any health problems that arise. It's obvious that she has the animals' best interests firmly at heart and takes their humans' concerns very seriously.

Dr. Cleary is amazing. The staff is wonderful. My geriatric cat needed a new veterinarian and Dr. Cleary is someone I very highly recommend, especially for geriatric cats. My cat has had a poor appetite for a few months and her now ex-vet kind of dropped the ball with her. I sought a second opinion due to her thyroid and kidney issues (I was concerned with how the old vets office was handling her medication doses) and Dr. Cleary agreed we should tweak her thyroid medication. Additionally, Dr. Cleary recommended an anti-nauseau medication due to her dropping weight very quickly and it worked wonders after only a couple days! Dr. Cleary has obvious experience with geriatric cats that other veterinarians lack.

The staff at Canterbury Tails is knowledgeable and most importantly of all, very caring. They are genuinely concerned with not only the health but the overall well being of all the animals they treat. I am so happy that these compassionate people chose Ware for their practice as it wonderful to have a local vet in whom I can put my trust.

Dr. Rylestone and her staff are outstanding! I have had my animals, cats and dogs, treated at Canterbury Tails for several years. Dr. Rylestone has gone above and beyond numerous times, and has given quality of life and health to my beloved "pets". I will never be able to adequately thank her for her conscientious , committed care to my "family members".

Dr. Anne Rylestone and her team at Canterbury Tails are outstanding. Their approach of blending a holistic approach with tried-and-true veterinary medicine makes for the best outcomes. They treat each patient (and their human parents, the clients) with great compassion and kindness, and always provide clear explanations and information about all treatments. With a focus on wellness, not simply treating disease, Canterbury Tails has always exceeded my expectations for my cats' veterinary needs. I highly recommend Canterbury Tails!

On 12/28 I unfortunately had to have my cat 21 years old put down. This was such a hard decision but I knew she was suffering. After calling multiple vets I chose Canterbury Tails. This was the best decision I could have made. They were very empathetic and did not rush the visit. They were so reassuring during the time I was there. I was extremely heart broken and could not control my emotions. I want to thank each and every one of them for being kind, compassionate and understanding. Myah gave us many years of love, silliness and had the most precious purr. I hope she is now at peace. God bless you Myah.
