Suitable Stop&Shop for the island. Not the full size store but definitely well stocked.(No beer or alcohol sold there that I have seen)

Finally we have an updated Stop & Shop. Larger in space and selection, reorganized and wider isles.

One of the most interesting grocery store visits I’ve had. Make sure you check out the back store if you go. Decent selection of products for how small the store is.

This store has a lot more product since they took on Instacart. For a smaller store it’s well stocked. They have new refrigeration which is great. I go there a lot more often now.

While the logistics of a grocery store in town where the ferry dock is located must be mind numbing- there has got to be a better way...The aisles of this store are so narrow, and even in October- it was crowded! I will say the selection in every department was great, and shelves were quite well stocked...it was just tough maneuvering in such tight quarters.

I have been to great Stop & Shop before. This is tight isles, with lots of people stopping in front of you. and part of the store you walk through the one part of the store to another by going in the back where they syore things tha have not gone on the shelves yet. Up stairs and wallah another part of the store as yo abandon your cart. Islanders think its quaint. I think it's nuts ana lawsuit when someone falls down the stairs. Prices high like everything on the island but still better prices than the competition.

I don’t know if this store experiences a lot of shop lifting but noticed they follow people of color; around the store. This is my second similar experience; as had the same experience last year on my visit to the Island for the MV 20 mile/relay race. It’s very sad as I have been a Stop and Shop customer for a long time and this is the only store I’ve had this experience.

I wanted to make sure to do this review as I missed the deadline for the receipt feedback "Talk To Stop & Shop" etc. On vacation & using bike & VTA, I popped in at dinner time SUPER busy. I got a hand full of things to head to Hostel. Bus was once an hour to W.Tis. The line was long. They always have a facilitator for it. I told her I'd miss my bus. No questions she just said "I'll take you"! I hated to jump the line. But the kindness was something I will never forget. I believe she was the store manager. Ppl never forget how you made them feel. I wish we all had a boss THAT cool. 😍🙏🚲

Cannot recommend less. Poorly stocked, messy, and congested. Skip this and go to the store in Edgartown.

Was in the store yesterday (Vineyard Haven) and was distressed to see two of your staff members improperly masked- one wearing it below his nose (talking to customers) and the other with her mask off completely, talking on the phone not 5 feet from me (in the checkout line). Have recently seen two other staff members unmasked in the aisles, talking loudly to each other. We are in the middle of a highly contagious pandemic, people. I know it's a drag, but please have your staff mask up properly. [Update: Since this was published, S&S responded (below), and all their staff have been properly masked in subsequent visits. Thank you, S&S!]

Very nice selection for a compact store. Well stocked and prices are good, considering location.

I think this is the best Supermarket on Martha's Vineyard. During the summer season the volume of people and product going through the store is truly amazing. They seem to have to keep stocking the store constantly during the day or the shelves would be bare. The store is very small for a stop & shop but it seems very organized and well-managed.

Horribly busy, but they handled it well. Nice greeters outside who let you know when you are able to enter. Lots of safety precautions. And even on a busy day like July 4th, we checked out rather quickly. Thank you, S&S!

Fresh produce selection is a bit limited but otherwise you can find a lot there despite the size (except beers). Beware that many customers are not wearing their masks properly, coughing... one was actually smoking an e-cigarette in one aisle and was not asked to leave.

Fresh guacamole is excellent! Essentials are found here and unexpected extras. Friendly staff. Bring your own bags if you can. Otherwise there are paper bags.

I frequent the Vineyard often as someone who lives in New England and love my MV experiences! All except this one. I literally was shocked to see the Stop n Shop VH in such disarray, dirty floors and disheveled shelves. I was taken aback, but it was 8:30pm at night. However, the experience was really tainted by a unbelievably rude Manager (assuming) named Kerry who was blatantly disrespectful to me when attempting to guide patrons into lines. It was a misunderstanding (on her end) where she could have apologized and it would have been water under the bridge. But she chose to not care that she guided me into a longer line snd allowed someone else into a shorter line. She told me that I shouldn’t have moved, like too bad! Horrible representative of the store and island.

Help was attentive. Some prices were more reasonable then others. I understand the goods have to be shipped over. Adding up to a dollar more for things is acceptable but some items were $2.50 more. That is unacceptable.

Just getting off the ferry and need some essential food and supplies? Stop and Shop has you covered. Deli is outstanding and the store is very organized.

It's ok - summer is chaotic with limited items available, long lines and crazy parking.

High prices and unfriendly employees. Sometimes, if you're lucky, one of them will say "hello" to you. Not welcoming staff, no visual contact, they NEVER say how much you have to pay, they don't ask for your Stop&Shop card... Both in Vineyard Haven and Edgartown.

Went to STOP and SHOP in VINEYARD HAVEN and the woman who helped me with correcting by points tag, which has NOT worked for 2.5 months was very polite, able and took the time to fix my membership tag. I am very impressed with the her services. Also got help from an employee off the clock doing his own shopping who help me reach things and find items. I thought he was a customer, which he was since he was off duty. No reason to go to Edgartown when helpful staff 1 mile from where I live. Thank you for your services.

Frantic feeling small market for essentials. The apparent manager was weird and dictatorial. Not great.

Stop & shop Vineyard Haven is failing to meet the expectation during the Pandemic to keep their operation safe for the shoppers during Pandemic. The staff refused to offer the disinfectant wipes and argued that it was optional, unlike Edgartown branch who encourages the shoppers to use the wipes to clean the cart handles.Instead, the staff insisted I should use hand sanitizer gel before entering, only to touch the filthy cart again and spread the germ and virus to the products I touch in each aisle. That is non sense. And, the staff said there was no protocol of sanitization but the gels and wipes were offered as optional. And, he added he was working in the store (and it should be safe for others without wipes or gels) So, I identify the big problem right there who could be a potential epicenter of the virus spread as he was overconfident and discouraged me to keep my guards up.The shoppers, mixed with summer residents who arrived less than a week ago, from, Memorial Weekend May 23-25, who also did not follow 14-day self quarantine, although they wore masks, they could be spreading the virus in the air, with the touch of the products and, for the worse, hang in the store with their friends to make contact tracing more complicated.I had my face itchy from the 1st aisle, where people walked right by me, without keeping the 6ft distance, and, many walked back and forth to pass by me and others, forcing us to be within 2ft apart. They ignore that the virus is airborne, too. And, I suspect the indoor air is not fresh, without being exchanged to the fresh HEPA-filtered air 5-6 times per hour. 15 minutes later, my throat was getting sore. And, the cashier grabbed my membership card attached to the key chain, to touch the glass scanner, without my permission. And, their checkout conveyor belt, glass scanners, and, card readers-although wrapped, didn't seem to be wiped frequently or each time before next customers.Edgartown Stop & Shop cashiers are mostly trained to do the job correctly. But, VH operation is a total failure. And, I will not come back to it any time soon.Changing management really brought good outcome of well stocked shelves a year ago. But, it falls back again with the challenge of CoVID-19 and their change of the staff toward summer opening. The choice should be to protect the community, and the profits will follow. Not the other way.

Very small and very busy Stop n Shop but they have limited space on the vineyard. Try to find a smaller shopping cart - you can get around inside easier. Vineyard Haven S&S is much smaller than the Edgartown one. prices are cheaper compared to the other independent markets like Cronigs

Poorly managed store, understaffed. Overcrowded and out of stock of needed items. Bring your own bags or they will break and spill your overpriced food everywhere.

Nowhere to park, small selection of products and an inconvenient separation of the store. Health and beauty products cannot be purchased in the same level as food, there is a completely inconvenient separate entrance and the HBC area only has self check out registers.
