I love this thrift store. When I went to the island, and found out they had a thrift store I was so exited. This store had so many amazing gems at great prices. I’ve thought about coming back to the island just to come to this store!

What a wonderful organization! The director, Jessica, and her amazing staff have taken a Vineyard staple and made it a successful fund raising arm of community services while maintaining the island vibe. A successful retail business, helping reuse and recycle all our stuff, and offering bargains for everyone. Always worth a visit

Please, off-island visitors.Be civil and generous! And, DO NOT ABUSE the workers/volunteers at the counter. to haggle by changing price sticker of $2 to $1. That is being CHEAP!The staff here are really working for "the community" in mind, and, many of them are volunteers! And, we are proud of them and what they have done for years and decades. Please, be supportive, and, thankful.

Many people shop at thrift stores because they will not or can not pay retail prices. You would think that all people would be made to feel comfortable at Chicken Alley considering how they boast their community service.I was happy to find 5 lovely wine glasses priced $4 each on my last visit. I took them to the counter so I could continue to shop around. When I returned to pay, another customer (let’s call her Karen) told an employee that the glasses were worth more than they were marked. A employee took the glasses from me and they were held hostage in the back while a group of employees had a LENTGHY conversation, leaving me standing there. When the manager returned, I was told the if I wanted them, I had to pay $50 each! They had no issue with humiliating me loudly in front of other customers. When I suggested that they honored the price marked by their staff, I was presented with “Where does it say that?” And “this is a charity”, as well as, “We need volunteers, if you think you know better!”. I guess they lost sight that the “community” that they SERVE works for an income. Everyone doesn’t have the PRIVILEGE to volunteer or to be over charged in the name on charity. They never have been listed on their website like I was told they would be. Maybe someone will be toasting to MVCS with them tonight.I would skip this out of touch “charity” on your next trip to Martha’s Vineyard!

We love the thrill of not knowing what we’ll find when thrifting and this shop didn’t disappoint! Friendly staff, too! Just be ready for tricky parking.

Great, as always, to get to Chicken Alley - twice! - during a visit with family on the Vineyard last week. Bruce and staff very friendly and helpful. My primary interest is books. While the book section has been reduced in size over the years, I appreciate that you still do make some room for books. I came away with 40 or so. I do have one complaint: the color-marker prices on the spines. UGH! I've spoken to staff about this in the past, but here I'm going public. Use pencil! Put the price inside. Or use a no-tear sticker, as you did for many years. STOP WITH THE COLOR MARKERS ALREADY!

Very poor parking. Granted 2 lots available a distance away. I have limited mobility at this time but don't qualify for handicap sticker. So I won't be shopping there anytime soon.

Went to Martha's Vineyard for a vacation. This store is so epic. Bruce and his team make you feel like family. It was a must shop deal every day. Thanks again Bruce! I will see you again next Summer! All the best- Jay

Staff was awful and extremely rude - yelled at us from the register to the door about wearing masks - staff outside greeted us warmly with no indication we needed to wear one until we were rudely yelled at from across the store. There is a way to go about asking people to wear a mask after the mask mandate is lifted and CDC recommendations have changed - not one other business on the Vineyard has required them since we’ve been here for the past 6 days. We weren't even offered a mask to wear - had to ask twice to be provided one and then they made my 16 year old PAY FOR THE MASK !!! Imagine. I get it if businesses want customers to mask even if we are all FULLY VACCINATED but there’s a way to go about treating other people in this climate and that’s not it. Would never go back and 1000% wouldn’t spend a penny there. It’s really too bad people think it’s ok to treat other people so poorly.

This place is always Hoppin’! It’s a veritable treasure hunt every time you go. Don’t let the line deter you. It’s worth it. And while the prices may have increased a bit so have the needs of our island community. Recycle, renew and reuse. And love your neighbor.

What a Fantastic experience! We happen to not have our luggage delivered for 2 days and we needed some clothes to wear. Our Uber driver suggested this awesome thrift store and we had a ball here! The clothing was all top designer and for very low prices! Annie was the most helpful and made our lousy situation of no luggage seem not so bad. We even came back later with my husband for clothes. Fun experience all around!

At least once or twice a week you'll find me at Chicken Alley. I never have a shopping list because you never know what treasures will await you, but I certainly have gotten my share of treasures over the years. They've managed remarkably well and responsibly through the COVID crisis and they're bursting at the seams (actually they burst through the seams a long time ago) with more and more items.

Yeah, always on my "to Do "list is a visit on a Thrift Shop. I got some great goodies there. Realy love this one. Even one time before entering a lady in a car stoped, and said; youg man. please have a look before you go in. Perhaps I can make you happy with this. And she got me a small electric drill from her late father. I was so happy with it. A perfect gift. It made my day.

This outlet has the habit of selling things that are either broken or corrupted, and refusing to refund. It has happened to me on several occasions; I no longer shop there!

I purchased a Peter Millar sweater from this company that is way bigger than they posted ...it must be a XXL TALL MEN'S.....and they are refusing to let me return it. for a refund. Claiming that's not how POSHMARK WORKS...Whatever happened to customer service, supporting the products one sells and FAIRNESS. Shop at your own risk.Ralph j Cardinale
