Me and my family used to stay here all the time and have been going for over 20 years, and typically it is a great place to stay, but our experience last year was not good. First of all they completely got rid of the front desk worker (which we didn’t know) and now you have to do everything through a remote company including payment over the phone, which is very inconvenient. Also, when we “checked in” (in quotations because there is no front desk to check into), our room was a mess and there was no housekeeper on the property. We had to make so many phone calls to the remote managers just to get somebody to clean our room when it should have been done at check-in time. It was honestly such a mess, thankfully we got some reimbursement. For an expensive stay I wouldn’t have expected such a bad experience. On a positive note once the room was finally cleaned there was no problems, and the inn is right on the beach and has awesome views. I haven’t been there recently but if it’s the same way now as it was when we stayed, we won’t be back.

Room was initially a bit dirty but the management was able to help quickly to resolve. The beach is right outside and you can enjoy from the deck or the outside area or take chairs down to the water front. The Area is beautiful and quiet and there were many nice well behaved dogs to play with our dog. Everyone is very friendly. It’s nice to have a dog beach because there are a lot of areas of the National seashore that don’t allow dogs especially on the trails. Make sure to bring water shoes because there are rocks and shells and some of them are pretty sharp.

Such a disappointment! We booked them based on the photos of sliding doors opening to a patio on the beach. What we got was Unit 8, which is an offset unit that is in front of the building. The patio we got opens to the side of the building along the neighboring properties fence. A tiny slice of ocean view can be seen, but you have to bear looking at the outdoor showers while doing so.The unit has one small window which we cannot even open, if we wanted privacy, as the stairs from the second floor units is about 4 feet from it. Some view!Honestly, we drove 6 hours to get there and if we were not so tired, we would have gone up and left! Instead we were forced to pay for the night. You can tell there have been problems with this unit before as we barely had to ask for a refund of the other 4 days we wanted to stay. As polite as the staff has been (Jocy and Jasmin) , it was not worth to pay over $400 for what essentially is a dark box, an evening full of aggravation and a ruined vacation. We really feel we have an argument to get a full refund even on the night we stayed as it was a total BAIT AND SWITCH, but we did stay. And as an additional tip, if you happen to have people above you who like to pace around at night, you cannot just hear it but actually feel the vibration of their steps as well. Our upstairs neighbor finally quit pacing about when my husband finally yelled from our bed for them to please stop after midnight.

Great view from our room. The interior appointments were good, but lacked some minor details like kitchen equipment, and laundry bags.Overall we were very pleased. Would definitely come back

Just got home from a three night stay and couldn’t be happier with the whole experience. Walked off our balcony onto the private beach where we walked the beach for hours, beautiful sunsets, seals, shells and sea glass. Close drive into PTown. Lots of choices for great restaurants and shops. The customer service was outstanding. The fire pit was a lovely touch, even just to watch from the balcony. Kitchenette was a savior and we cooked lobsters from the stop and shop a few minutes away and ate them on the balcony while watching the sunset. Couldn’t say enough wonderful things about our stay.

We can’t wait to stay here again. Perfect location, with ptown just down the road, beachfront and dog friendly. The kitchenettes were great and an awesome balcony with a comfy Trex high table and chair set.Maybe it’s because so many of the guests were dog owners, but EVERYONE was friendly. We really enjoyed meeting and chatting with the other guests when walking our dog, which is something we don’t usually do when staying at a motel. But since we all had our pups with us, conversation was easy.

Located right on the bay beach. Nice, small private beach. They have chairs, lounges, tables with umbrellas, fire pit, and two grills, all out on the beach, which is literally right outside the rear of the inn.Our clean and fresh double queen room had a kitchen with stove, microwave, kitchen sink, full size fridge, and everything needed for cooking and eating (pots, pans, utensils, plates, bowls, cups, etc.)We were on the second floor and the view from our balcony was fantastic. Each balcony has a table and two chairs. And the staff is super friendly and helpful!

Had a similar experience to the reviewer Mark - cold showers, various things broken, no coffee, no parking when we came back one evening. The off-site management seemed to care less about problems that could have been resolved easily if someone had been there in person. It was such a disappointment because the spot is so beautiful and you pay a hefty price for it.

Thai is the perfect place for dog owners to stay!! Open your door and you are on the beach!!! The room was large and clean, the bed super comfortable and the TV huge. Kitchenette is nice if you are staying for a few days and want to heat up leftovers. The Adirondack chairs for sitting on the beach were perfect!!It is just up the road from all that Ptown has to offer and yet you have a nice quiet place to return to after a day of shopping or the National seashore beaches!!We Will be back!

We came for a short visit - 2 nights. Very good experience. Brought our puppy. The accommodations were clean, nice, and good. The staff - across the board - was helpful, friendly, and smiled. We stayed in a dog-friendly room and it did not smell like one - which was a pleasant surprise. Our room had 2 queen size beds. The beds were comfortable and great pillows. Ther was a new large TV. The Wifi was good. The curtain blocked the light nicely and we were able to sleep in - and have it open and see the beach and ocean when we wanted. There was a cute high top table with 2 chairs on the area outside our door - covered area. The kitchette was well appointed with a little stove, and dishes/glasses - all you would need. The fridge/freezer seemed new. The bathroom was well done - nice big shower - and Neutrogena products. We had beach access thru sliders and it was easy to get out with the puppy, which was good. The beach had good chairs and new BBQs, and a firepit. The washer/dryers (which I saw thru a doorway) were new. The laundry area (for staff) and the office were neat and clean. Overall, very happy with our stay and plan to return with our pup. Thank you.

My husband and I booked this stay based on all positive reviews and needless to say we are highly disappointed. Especially with this third party Vacasa, we have been calling since Friday and no one had gotten back to us. There has been no turn down service, we have to chase and watch for housekeeping. The first night when we arrived there was sand all over the floor, luckily they left a broom behind so I was able to sweep myself. Next day we venture down to the beach there is seaweed all over the chairs we had to clean off ourselves. Getting ready for dinner there was NO HOT WATER! We had to shower in cold water. Called left message no response. Then later in the evening we go down to use the fire pits …. They don’t work! We have called Vacasa 3 times so far and no one has gotten back to us. We finally saw a house keeper after 2 days and asked if she can assist with the no hot water. Since staying here we haven’t had a hot shower in 2 days and we have spent a pretty penny on our stay and would expect at least hot water and a clean room.

We flew in to celebrate my 60th birthday and check off a bucket list dream of being on the Cape with a wine glass in my hand and watching the sunset...and I wasnt disappointed! We had an amazing time. The rooms were clean, the kitchen was well stocked, the bed was comfortable and the property was welcoming. The cost of staying here was worth every penny. We will definitely be back and highly recommend staying here. We hit the jackpot when we found this place!

The Sandbars Inn is great. It's just outside of Provincetown in a quiet location. The hotel sits directly on the beach with plenty of communal space and furniture to use. It's recently renovated spaces are really nice, natural stone veneer in the bathrooms and kitchenette counters. Room 16 is a huge ensuite with a separate bathroom for guests. Great spot for family's or couples to get away.

I’m updating my review as the management corrected the situation and issued a full refund to make up for the error. We loved the location and the unit was clean and in a great location. Beautiful water view and close to many local attractions. I just wish they had an in person manager to deal with these sorts of issues rather than having to go through a call center.

Spent a wonderful long weekend in August here. The location is beautiful, the rooms are large, clean and very comfortable. Our family had three rooms side by side and enjoyed hanging out together on the balconies. Housekeeping was attentive and the office staff was friendly and responsive. We will definitely look to come back in the future!

The customer service on the phone was exceptional but the service when we arrived was even better! My wife and I were celebrating an early 13th wedding anniversary and I requested for flower pedals and champagne in the room which came out beautifully. We also checked in a little early and we're able to enjoy the beach until the room was ready. It's also a very quick drive to Provincetown which is super convenient. We can't wait to come back with our kids

Planned a last minute get away with our two dogs. We could not have been more pleased with our accommodations. Beautiful ocean view, and a few steps from room to private beach! We were welcomed to our suite with a beautiful fresh flower bouquet and loved the private balcony with bistro set for enjoying fresh sea breezes. They have thought of every little detail to make your stay a pleasant one. We will definitely be back! Staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend!!!

With wonderfully updated and very clean rooms, we had a gorgeous view from our 2nd floor room. Trex furnishings outdoors and the beach fire pit were great touches that make this feel like an upscale hotel. Convenient to P-town as well as Wellfleet. Beach had a lot of seaweed and I don’t think many people were swimming, but the sunset view is hard to beat. Friendly and very helpful staff.

I went labor Day weekend last year and everything was great, our room had a porch with a seaview and you could just step onto the beach. We liked it so much we decided to return.Unfortunately within the last year it's been taken over by Vacasa, a kind of Airbnb. When we booked in May the photos showed exactly the same type of room/porch as previously stayed in, so we booked. When we arrived, we made our way to our room (no.8) we immediately realised it wasn't the room we booked as it was on the side of the building. We entered the 10 digit (yes 10 digit!!) room key code and entered the room. Now apart from not having the seaview, the room had no wardrobe, just wall coat rack with no hangers, no table and chairs, so if you wanted to sit it had to be on the bed, it also has torn drapes and dirty carpets as well as only on bedside table. When we opened the solid porch door we found an awful 4x4 patio at the side of the building, right in the middle of a thoughrofare and no sea view.We were upset and annoyed, especially as we'd spent so much money ($600 a night) we went on the vacasa website to find the photos had been changed and now depicted the correct photos of room no. 8. We rang Vacasa, as there is no reception or manager on site to complain. But we didn't get very far unfortunately, although they did say that our room wasn't usually rented out. There were no other rooms available as it was labor day weekend, eventually they gave us a $120 refund (we're not really sure where that figure came from). We eventually decided to just get on with our weekend but it really did spoil it.My advice is to just avoid sandbars Inn. Or if you go avoid room no. 8.

Very nice stay. The ocean right outside thru our slider allowed us to walk our dog each day and night. Beautiful room kitchen and modern tiled bathroom great beds. The rate was a fair price and we had everything we needed. If staying in for meals as we did because we had a pet bring a few groceries also there is delivery of sandwiches pizza fish and chips etc. We will return can't wait!

Beautiful location near wonderful restaurants and beaches. We were there for four days, and although the beach is beautiful and private, never were umbrellas put on the tables to enjoy and all of the beach chairs remained strew about the properties beach area and as well as creating a messy line blocking the path to the beach/water the entire time. I realize the chairs are for the guests to move where they want, but usually it gets "tidied up" each day.The reduced amenities were understandable, businesses are just following the mandates/recommendations. That said, due to the kitchenettes not being stocked, we were supposed to be supplied with some kitchen supplies as stated on the website " We will be providing you with limited number of plastic cups and plastic spoons, forks and knives." Nothing was supplied. Luckly we had our own and StopnShop is just up the street. As we have stayed here in the past and loved everything about it, this time was just "OK".

From the moment you call this place they give amazing customer service! Upon checking in they give you a map of the town and national park along with ideas for activities and meals. The downstairs rooms go right out onto the private beach. The upstairs rooms have their own decks with chairs and an amazing view. The private beach has chairs and a fire pit. It’s far enough from town and away from larger resorts so it’s not over run with people. Although it’s only a couple minute drive into town for shopping and food. The hotel itself is really close to the water and pretty small and cozy. The bed in our king superior was better than any other bed I have slept on! The in room kitchen is perfect for those looking to not each out every meal. The bathrooms are nice and updated. The whole place looks like it’s has had a lot of care and money put in it to keep it looking very nice. We will definitely be back!

Nothing fancy but does have a great view of the water and Provincetown monument. Unfortunately due to Covid, they had to remove all kitchen ware (plates, utensils, coffee pot...everything). Bring everything you will need. It was very quiet and the bed was comfortable.

This is our 3rd time here with our pups. Well appointed rooms with kitchen and fridge. Located right on the beach. You can view Provincetown from a distance. The hotel staff is great and the rooms are immaculate, especially considering its a pet friendly motel. You would never know. Love this place so much🐕❤🤗🐕❤🤗🐕❤🤗

Excellent place to stay. Joe at the office was particularly accommodating to our needs. We arrived late and our regular reservation did not have anyone to check us in so we were in a scramble to find a place to stay for the night. Joe was here late, checked us in without overcharging us and saw to all of our needs.

My boyfriend was in charge of booking the hotel for our vacation this year, and man was it a slam dunk! Just a 5-10 min drive to Provincetown (also on the busline and Uber available) and right on the beach. The clerk at the desk was super friendly and hooked us up with printouts of the weather forecast, map of the area, and booklets on stuff to do in town.Fresh flowers, super clean room and an amazing view of the beach out back greeted us. Very quiet stay, and the beach was never overly crowded. There was tables with umbrellas and lots of chairs for everyone's use. No free breakfasts here, but we had breakfasts and lunches in our kitchenette and it suited us just fine. Beautiful views morning and night- you can see the lights all the way up to the tip of the Cape. The views, private beach, proximity to Provincetown, and cleanliness/comfort of the room are big selling points on this place.
