It has been years since our stays here. It was perfect at the time for our small beginning family of three. We would take our son right out onto the beach. He loved it and we enjoyed sitting out relaxing (if there is sorta thing for young parents). Also loved that we could easily get to Provincetown which we really enjoy. We did eventually look around for other spots as our family size increased (four boys!) but sounds like they do have other bigger options. We just happened to fall in love with a place in Wellfleet, no fault of this wonderful place. I wish we had found this place before kids as it would be very cozy and romantic for a couple. Never any issue with the service and friends of ours that still stay have noted the same.

Beautiful location. Can't beat the private beach. Cottages are miminally set up for housekeeping. No ac so bring your fans. Checkin times can exceed 3 pm. Towels can be exchanged but bring your beach towels. No laundry. Bring some hooks for wet or rainy days. Have been going 43 years, lots of friendly neighbors. Not for private folks.

Location, location, location! This is a low-frills Cape Cod landmark on the Bay that has cottages/apartments with all you need for a beach vacation. What could be better than a private room with kitchenette, direct beach access and seconds from Route 6 (on 6a)?

Awesome beach view from the cottages. The owner is a super nice and sweet person. Enough parking space available. The cottage includes all kitchen appliances and utensils. The only thing missing is food. No breakfast option available nearby.

Love staying here. My husband and I have been here twice now and we will be back. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The beach is beautiful and the cottage was amazing. Very clean and very comfortable. We even got a deal on upgrading our room which was awesome. We stayed here for our honey moon and it was the perfect place to celebrate and unwind. The beach was clean and there was enough space for all the guest while having room and being safe with social distancing. Thank you so much Helena for making our stay so wonderful.

I will update my review at the end of our stay, ocean views are great, outdoor chairs need updating, a few aren't sturdy and those that are, I think people claim them as soon as they arrive. Check in was smooth, very friendly abd helpful. Beds in need of full mattress casing, just had a very cheap mattress cover, bring your own bedding to be safe, only 2 pillows on full bed, road noise was loud at night, shower we didn't even dare to use it was ancient and didn't look clean. Very small room. The people at check in and check out were super friendly. They have no place to grill outdoors. The beach was rough with pebbles through the sand, hard to walk barefooted, I guess because its a private beach they keep it mostly natural. You sink into the sand. Beautiful sunsets and calming ocean views, shared by all cottages, sitting out watching it with a dozen people while sipping your morning tea. Bathroom door doesn't have a latch, its broke. So it doesn't stay closed.

I arrived for a 3 night stay and it was so peaceful and relaxing I asked to stay another night, was happy they had availability in the same room. The room was cozy, and the view was amazing. The bed was comfy and the room was clean. I liked having a kitchenette, was able to shop at the local seafood markets and enjoy a nice dinner. Helena the owner was super nice. WiFi was great, no tv but not missed. I can’t wait to go back again.

Not impressed. They give you the bare minimum for a premium price. I should have been more focused on the room details and that was my mistake. However, the room was tiny and for 2 people, ridiculously small. For the price paid, there should have been maid service every other day, but service was non-existent. We actually booked a B&B after the 2nd night and kept this room for the refrigerator. Don’t waste your time and money. There are much better options available just a short drive away.

I was looking for a place for my son and his wife and found this place and booked two nights. When they arrived to check in with their puppy, Helena, the manager, rudely stormed into their room and said "No Dogs" and walked away. I looked carefully at the website and no where was it prominently displayed that she had a "no pets" policy. This forced my son to find another place on a holiday weekend. When he returned to drop off the keys he politely asked for a refund. Helena thrust a confirmation where buried in the fine print was a no pets clause. What good is that when the purchase was already made? I cannot believe the rudeness of this woman. I'm in customer service and I cant imagine treating a customer like that. If I could choose zero stars, I would.RUDE!!

We just came home from a spectacular Cape Cod vacation! Staying at White Village was a great decision. It's a well kept, family owned place, and the family really takes care to provide the items you need in a very cute and clean cottage. You sleep with the ocean waves, and wake to them. It's lovely. The only reason I did not give a 5 star rating was due to the stove. It may seen like a minor issue for some, but we prepared and seasoned many zip lock bags of meat to cook dinners while there to save money for other outings. The gas stove did not work many times, and when it did-it set off an extremely loud fire alarm while cooking that was heard through all cabins. It was quite embarrassing to have everyone on the property freak out and stare at us through windows while I tried to cook hamburgers. When I approached the owner all he could explain was "that's how it is, it cant be fixed".Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to go back. But next time, I'll bring a grill ;)

Mu wife and I, along with friends had been coming for nearly 20 years, and my father in law with friends for 25-30 years, religiously. We have always looked forward to coming and spending time with so many other regulars. Maria and family were special people. We were unable to come last year due to family issues out of state.I called this spring to make reservations, the manager asked me to please email her my request, as she was unable to get to her calendar at that moment. No problem. Immediately emailed (we were looking for accommodations for 3 couples, any room configurations would do). After a week and no response, I called to verify she had gotten my email. She checked and verified she had it, but not read it yet (??!), but would contact me shortly and help us set something up. Nothing. We now have reservations down the street.Maybe next year we will be able to return and offer a 5 star rating. I miss this place.

This is THE BEST place to come for sun, waves, and relaxation. Having just finished a ghostwriting project, i needed a getaway to clear my head. Oceana Cottages is just the ticket for anyone needing to get away. The high speed wi-fi is perfect for writing more ideas for projects to the cloud. The sound of the waves outside the window/just off the boardwalk, definitely make for peaceful evenings. The sunsets are what the romantic poets and artists live to see and try to describe in their creative works. Will definitely be back when I'm in the US!

We loved our stay at Oceana Cottages! I have fond memories of these cottages from my youth, and they continue to have the same charm, peace and simplicity that you could want in a get-away to Truro. I was delighted that we were able to get a spot because these cottages are very sought after and it's not easy to get a rental - book in advance! Every morning, I woke to the sound of gentle waves rolling in off Cape Cod Bay, and swam from the private beach. We came to do remote work with a nice view. The Wifi was strong and enabled us to extend the feeling of a vacation for another week on the Cape. Cottages are cute with all of the things that you will need to cook. Helena was very welcoming and accommodating. We hope to return next year!

I just recently stayed here with for my 5 year anniversary and the only reason this gets 2 stars is because of the view. This place is very outdated. From appliances to the beds. There were cigar buds outside our cottage. Beds are very uncomfortable. Sheets were like sleeping on sand paper. They dont really keep anything up to date. The toaster is pretty old and when i went to use it i got shocked right up my left arm. Im pretty sure they water down there dish soap. The sponges they have to clean dishes were old, moldy and gross. Went to the market to get our own. They have very minimal outlets. Not much storage space at well. They are also very strict with what you can do. They say the take before and after pictures so if you wanted to move the table over to make a little more room they dont forbid it. If you want to be so strict how about update it and make it a nicer stay. there werent even any extra garbage bags there for you. Also if you want a fan you have to go ask for it and if you want one they judge you for wanting one because there should be a "ocean breeze" which comes from the back of the cottage. Not the ocean side. Also if you dont like seaweed, beach is full of it. But when it gets to be lowtide its nice.I recommend looking at some of the other cottages near here. I walked down to the market and there were some cottages there and looked them up. Very nice inside and so seaweed. We usually stay in a hotel when we come for our anniversary but wanted to try on the water. We came into the cape super excited about the place and left with cant wait to be home. Very dissapointing stay. Probably first and last time we stay there unless they signifcantly update the place.

Impressed and very satisfied. We arrived early (check in was three) 12:30 & room was ready so we were allowed to check in. Cottage #2 Was very clean, smelled fresh. It is a cottage so it was a bit rustic and aged, well kept. EVERYTHING worked and worked well. Clean towels everyday. Staff was amazing, helpful, kind and very polite. Neighbors were awesome, helpful and polite. Beach was just steps away from the board walk.. The waves at night were soothing. I will be returning and I will be requesting Cottage #2.. No Television, A.C's or radios in any of the cottages. NICE BREAK FROM REALITY.. WHO NEEDS TV. it was a vacation and I am happy my vacation was with Whites Cottages!

The transition from White Village Cottages to Oceana Cottages was a little rocky. They after in the midst of doing little makeovers here and there along the cottages, but the things we love remain unchanged: the location and the simplicity. Still a great place for family vacations, and after visiting for over 30 years, I will continue my yearly vacation there. My only complaint is that it is not pet friendly and I honestly believe it could be as it is not high end accommodations.

Under new and WONDERFUL management!! They are in the process of making positive changes to the cottages while keeping the "home away from home" atmosphere.Starting with the new VIP lodging, absolutely breathtaking, the decor, the location, the price, ALL GOOD THINGS!!!The new management is refreshing, replacing, repairing everything, right down to the plumbing and electrical!Rustic, peaceful, quiet, oceanfront, waves, clean beaches, close to Ptown, THIS IS THE PLACE!!Helena has absolutely positively taken the bull by the horns and is making this THE PLACE to stay for any time of year!!Book your place now, before all the cottages AND the new VIP lodging are booked solid for year-round.

The manager was rude, lied, and responded to a negative review with lies and personal attacks that were simply uncalled for and not necessary. Here is the entire story so others can make up their mind. Before booking, Many of the rental services had it clearly stated dog friendly or not dog friendly in easy to find places on their websites but many booked out. This place had no pet policy that was under pages and pages of jargon in standard black lettering no different than other text about everything else. It wasn’t until you get there and after confirming and upon arrival that we found out that this place is not dog friendly. The problem lies in that it’s late notice to find out upon arrival of the policy. We calmly explained that and simply asked for a refund as missed a non obvious policy upon searching specifically for it. we did have to go find a new space last minute due to what is an easy mistake to make (because the policy was on small black lettering on pages and pages of terms and conditions page) and very easy to not find unless you ready every word especially when most others in area clearly have pet policy clearly stated on front or before confirmation pages (not after the fact). So this doesn’t happen again please put it on more obvious place that hidden in terms and conditions and not after confirming. After booking the confirmation email stated the basic details of what’s included in and not included. ( no mention of pets). So the body of the confirmation email said nothing of pets. It confirmed all the obvious information. So a reasonable person what arrive to find out pet policy last minute (creating an easy mistake and unlikely to be resolved ahead of arrival). Confirmation all looked good so naturally no need to look at the small print in the pdf attachment which should simply confirm what’s already been confirmed. The policy was under a separate layer leading a reasonable person to believe that as no mention of pets would suggest pets are allowed. In a response to asking for a refund and explaining to the manager a negative review after explaining the mistake, the rudeness turned to dishonesty. Because you know every word of website others could miss something that was not obvious like every other rental area in the area. multiple steps of layers making it difficult to find the policy even if looking for it we felt. If not a refund at least not be rude about it pointing to small lettering among other small print last second. In response to a negative post explaining a common mistake and some rudeness. The response from owner was a personal attack and continued several lies. The owner of this business wanted to protect other clientele from a dog. The owner came and told us no dogs after checkin as we started unloading. In response we left to go find a new spot (putting dog back into car. The dog never went into the cottage that had stained floor and a 1930s rundown look (expensive for rundown place). We left to find a new space to stay. She lied claiming the dog was in the cottage. Then she claimed that “we would be the type of people that would stay despite no pet policy” but that is also rude and ignorant. We left with the dog to find another location that is dog friendly (so her personal attack on potential client was unfounded and rude). Her next lie was claiming that we moved things. This is also false as we immediately left after she came over and only had our bags on the ground. Stating the safety of others is important with no mask in a messy office and claiming we violated covid safety (again nothing covid related in this event as it was always about the dog that never stepped foot inside).Claiming customer service experience was never an issue but self claiming how amazing service you have by personally attacking people and lieing about events and guessing about people intentions when actions were quite different than her claims seems to be in bad taste. The whole point is simply being less rude & website management in first place could have avoided most of this situation.

Have been coming here for about 15 years with my family, and before that came every year as a kid with my parents. The cabins are rustic and have not changed much in 50 years. There are no TVs - which is a godsend! I wish there was no wi-fi, but at least it is spotty enough that it keeps screen-time to a minimum. The beach is right out the door and down a short staircase. There's usually a moderate amount of seaweed up and down the beach which comes and goes with the wind and the tides. The water temperatures vary from icy to warm, and from crystal clear to murky. People do fish from the beach, but there's usually better luck on the ocean side or from a boat. The most common sea life along the shore are crabs, hermit crabs, and small fish. It's a great place for families with kids, as your kids can wander far down the beach and still be in sight. The same people tend to come back for the same week(s) every year, so you get to know one another and it's like a seasonal family! The Bento family, who ran the place as White Village for about 30 years or more, have just sold the business to another family member who has changed the name to Oceana Cottages. Don't know why. It's kind of sad for those of us who have been coming for decades to say goodbye to the Bentos and White Village. We hope the new owners will not make any drastic changes! WE LOVE IT JUST AS IT IS!!!
