Awesome clean store with friendly and helpful staff!Nice variety available at the bakery and the fresh baked bread is delicious.The produce is fresh, much is locally sourced and of a quality that lasts longer than similar produce purchased at most competitors.They have a great app that makes it easy to save on every visit while earning rewards that add up every 3 months for added discounts.The warm bar offers a frequently changing menu with different soups, onion rings, fries, egg rolls, jalapeño poppers and potato barrels.The weekly deli deals - sliced deli meat with a complimentary cheese is a great value.Lucky to have such nice people providing quality and value so convenient to home.

Definitely not the friendliest Hanford I have been in. Several in produce, a "To Go" associate and one cashier I can say took the time to at least smile and go out of their way to talk with me. Everyone seems to be bothered that customers are shopping or they have to answer a question, assist in reaching high up placement of items or even say hello! Come on guys ... if you don't like your jobs find something else that will put a smile on your face! Way to go Produce, one sweet young girl that works with "togo" and Chickie ... thank you for your kindness !!!

I live a mile from this Market but I drive 16 miles away to do my weekly grocery shopping. The selection is much worse than when it was Victory.The customer bathroom is the old employee bathroom behind the Deli. There were so many boxes piled up in the corridor I felt unsafe going back there.If you buy the bagged Grapes there is a barcode on the bottom that messes up the self checkout. The way they deal with that is to treat the customer like they should have known how to ring it up.The rep told me he would educate me on the correct way to weigh it. I just wanted him to clear the block so I could leave. So I let him go on about how he is there to educate the customer in the correct way to scan things. But what I wanted to say is I am the customer you don't educate me you assist me. If your machines don't work the way the customer expects them to you apologize.I will say the produce is usually in good condition and ripe.

It takes a lot to impress me with poor packing but this store did it. Cheesecake on its side, intentionally put cold items together on the belt and they spread them through all bags. Cherry topper was they refused to put in the store card.

Best Management team around very helpful and the place has cheapest everyday groceries besides Market Basket..6/29/22**UPDATE** A lot of staff turnover and the store actually had a renovation which not sure was necessary and tons of items STILL either empty or just not being carried any longer which in a small community means going without or having to drive to a different community to shop and there is a huge section of PRIME PARKING dedicated to pick up aka pandemic parking which sits empty and customers who go inside have to park sometimes in horribly inconvenient spots walking past a whole row empty spots next to ent/exit. There are a few ALLSTARS working there and i will continue shopping here until there is a reason not to.. God Bless

Updated 25 July 2023 - the store has improved significantly since I wrote the review below well over a year ago. They no longer deserve the one star rating I gave them back then. While I applaud the store management's efforts to improve, the prices are still higher than any other place around and the selection is still a bit meager. But as a neighborhood grocery store goes, it's really not that bad.Previous review:The store has gone completely down the toilet since the BIG RENOVATION. Many products are no longer stocked. Many others have been moved to other places in the store and crammed into smaller spaces, making them very hard to find. The entire special foods section near the deli was eliminated. The produce quality, which was already pretty sad, has become downright dismal. They haven't had a decent supply of milks for weeks now, and they claim it's because the Hood Dairy was hacked - yet almost every other grocery store in the area has plenty. And the milk shortage at the Townsend store includes non-dairy milks like Oat, Almond and Cashew milks - how does Hood DaIry have anything to do with that? The Townsend Hannaford will not get another dollar of my business- I'll drive out to Milford for Market Basket rather than give my business to such a poorly-run grocery store.

After six months of living close by, we like it more and more! Fish and shrimp prices are sometimes better than at Costco and the quality is great! The overall selection is not as good as in Market Baskets, though.

Townsend Lions Club continually receives support from our local Hannaford supermarket both in collection box donations and support for our events and as a result we are able to serve the community with multiple scholarships to NMRHS and North Middlesex Technical HS as well as donations to our food bank and providing visual aids to community as needed. We appreciate their continued community support.

It’s not only customary but also hygienic to keep your register belts clean between customers. The amount of spilt and crusted on milk on the register belt at checkout was so excessive that as someone with a severe milk allergy, i had to have my medication at there ready. How does the cashiers not consider cleaning in between customers when the belt is that dirty?

This store is always very clean and my preferred store to shop at. Their produce is always really fresh and crisp and they have a wide variety of items to chose from. Their seafood selection is always great especially the marinated salmon!

Nice friendly people work at Hannaford in Townsend. My only complaint is they don't have everything in stock that I was shopping for Also, I am disappointed the 2 natural food isles are gone. I bought a few of my natural foods from them because of the choices and prices.

Local supermarket with good selections. Prices aren't the cheapest but you are paying for convenience. Don't forget your reusable bags, single use bags will soon be banned in Townsend.The cakes in the bakery are very good. They do have good selections of meats.

Prices are good enough to keep me from driving across to NH to save on taxes (1000 times better than Donelan's) and the store is generally clean. They have a pretty solid selection of meat and the staff is friendly. The only reason I couldn't give them 5 stars is because there have been several times where I try to use the self checkout line and the machine is either already down, or goes down while I'm using it and nobody comes to help.

The store is well it and well stocked and the person on there are first rate. I took away one star because the prices are above average as far as I'm concerned. Conversely they are not so high that it's worth going somewhere else to do your shopping. All the food is fresh and excellent quality.

I don't know what the night managers issue is, I came in the other night and asked her if they had a restroom and she had the gall to show me to the public restroom. I told her that I needed to use the employee restroom as I know they have better supplies and she lied to my face, told me the employees use the public restroom. LIKE anyone would ever believe that. After all of this I also had to wait in line as they didn't have an express checkout for preferred customers. Don't know how anyone can live/work in a disgusting hoodrat town like this.

It's not the biggest or cheapest or best selection, but within about 20 minute drive nothing else comes close.. I go there probably once a week and buy mostly perishables and then go to Westford or Nashua about every two weeks to stock up on bulk items. It has a decent selection and reasonable price, good for short haul shopping.

It’s Sunday afternoon and understaffed and slow. Not enough cashiers or baggers.. My line was held up by someone cashing a large check, rather then having a special counter for that, like Market Basket does...store layout is tight and not set up so you can easily shop the perimeter, which is the standard guide for healthy shopping.

This store is clutch for when we're out of milk, eggs, bread, or something. Now with the app, they have tons of coupons for all the hygiene products. The staff here are always nice too.#iamclintfit
