Friday 12/22 I witnessed an elderly store manager walk into the Grooming Salon and give the Groomers a threat if they didn't sell more package deals. Sounded like she gave them an ultimatum right in front of us customers ! I was shocked by this behavior of a store manager. We love and appreciate the great care they put into our pets ! Shame on you Petco !!!!!!!!!!!

Our pup Maximus (Max) loves his new bed! Petco is the place where the pets go!! They have a clearance aisle!!! And their cat/dog health check up is affordable and necessary!

I brought my Siberian Husky in for Grooming. I don't think she has every looked so good. I have had it done elsewhere and it did not compare to what she looked like yesterday. So happy my other husky is booked for this week. I wish I got the women's name but unfortunately did not but she was excellent.

I live in Danvers but go to Topsfield store cuz less busy and they super friendly and helpful. The staff is quite knowledgeable about products and offer advice. The Danvers store is shaped different inside with floor plan that's more stressful to find items.The parking in Topsfield easier and safer too.It's just past the fairgrounds on same side of route one .

I have no complaints about my experiences with Petco either recent or past. I do wonder about these surveys. Who reads them? What do they do with them? What kinds of actions internally do they drive toward improving the customer experiences? I am a CX professional who works with organizations on customer-centric behaviors and best practices and when I experience being surveyed over and over with no indication as to what happens with this information it (1) makes me wonder and (2) makes me less likely to complete future surveys.

Update: I have since purchased fish at this location: a betta and a small school of ember tetras. All fish have integrated smoothly into a planted 20-gallon tank, and every one remains healthy and alert. I hope they keep it up with their aquatic department!We happened to stop by this store because it was the closest place to grab some supplies for an ailing fish. It was a very pleasant surprise to see how limited and well-kept the live animal displays are. In particular, I've never seen such healthy fish in a big box pet store. Even the bettas on display in cups are all alert and healthy with clean water. That's a low bar but most shops cannot clear it!

I stopped in this store while traveling and was very pleased that I did. The store was very clean and organized. I made a purchase and asked, I believe the manager, for directions and she was very knowledgeable, sweet and helpful.

The store is smaller than other Petco stores. The store is well organized & easy to locate the products you may want. Due to its size, the inventory is limited. The staff is friendly & knowledgeable of the products within the building.

I originally boycotted Petco for a long time due to irresponsible animal selling practices and unhealthy pet merchandise in the North Andover Petco. I ended up stopping by the Topsfield store to get some feeder flies for my mantis. Dang, this place never ceases to surprise me! They have signs to educate proper pet care for their creatures, tons of good exotic’s merchandise! Also, their feeder flies have always been healthy and in stock! I personally have budgies and a Guinea pig. They had a big selection for both, well made and everything! I’ve never seen a dead fish in their fish tanks, they’ve all looked really happy! Lots of selection for all of your pets! I recently was looking for information on my Corydora and the person in charge of the Aquariums, “D” was very knowledgeable and respectful of the fish! I learned a lot and had a great time discussing tanks and lighting. Highly recommended :)

The store was in its usual state of clutter. However, the staff people were nowhere to be found for over 10 minutes while I waited at the register. So much so that another customer was yelling if she could be heard while we were in there and ended up walking out with a large bag of dog food without paying for it. When the staff people finally came out, they could care less and just said that they are understaffed.

Greeted by a young gentleman upon entering and asked what I was looking for. Was extremely knowledgeable and brought me right to what I needed , even carried the heavy bag up to the counter for me. Rarely do you see customer like this. Very impressed

Not much of a selection of live critters.Update 2022. Haven't visited this store in a really long time. Good selection of products. Management is rude. The young women at the cash register was super friendly and helpful. She was the only one checking people out. Good selection of fish and birds.

The people that work here deserve better. The store feels dark and half empty while still feeling fill to the brim. The staff are nice, kind, and helpful... But whenever I go at least one thing I need is out of stock

Clean and professionally courteous. Would be 5 stars but as with most retail stores and the issues with getting supplies to store shelves to meet customer demands, i rated it a four due to atleast half the shelves being empty for quite abit in the cat food aisle which is the same issue in many other pet supply, grocery and retail stores right now. Overall they are pretty good and i enjoy shopping there. Average, comparable prices in comparison to other major pet only retail chains.

Cashier was very pleasant and friendly, which is unusual during this time of year at retailers and that late at night. I walked in closer to closing time, and the cashier didn't act like they were annoyed or bothered by it. Just very happy and a delight to cash out with.

GROOMING!! If you are looking to groom your dog or pet, do not choose this Petco. The groomers were rude, unprofessional, and overall bad at cutting hair. My dog was left with a furry head, and a shaved body because they "could not handle" my tiny Shih Tzu. I would completely understand if it was a 50 plus pound Pit-bull or Rottweiler that was giving them problems. At that point, it is simply a lack of professionalism at what they do. I felt a bad vibe when going into the groomers department, and my dog came home feeling down. The customer service was also very poor. Once I came back to get my dog they told me that I should not come back, and to have my dog go to another Petco. If anyone knows, Shih Tzu's are the most friendliest and playful dogs. Overall, the groomers were terrible, and they left me in distraught. I never write reviews but I just had to write one for this Petco. DON'T RISK IT!!!

The woman who works in the fish department is amazing. My two children went in with their own money. They picked a fish, but ended up not having enough cash for the fish they had picked. The employee paid the money they were missing! She said she wanted to help and wanted the lonely fish to have a good home. The fish had been there for awhile and was all alone. Not only was she kind to my children she was deeply concerned for the singleton fishes well being!! Amazing!

Convenient if you can't wait 2 days for Amazon Prime shipping. But wow does convenience come at a cost! A 300 watt aquarium heater is $50 at Petco but only $26 at Amazon w/ free shipping. I asked if they price match. They only price match their own on line pricing which would have been $46.50. Store is nice and people working there are nice. Pricing is terrible.

It was probably 55 degrees in the store even in the fish section. I brought my little kids to get another betta and TWO were dead in those little cups. First off, those little cups are CRUEL, bettas need at least 5 gal.... second, they are not heated! Betta need a water temp minimum of 72 degrees and they were not providing that for them. The store was wayyyy too cold for those fish to survive. My kids are so upset seeing all the sick fish! The neglect of the tropical fish in that store is DISGUSTING. Not the experience I was hoping for.... they did have a great selection of tanks though.

This place gets 5 stars from me... I dropped or misplaced my eye glasses at the Topsfield store. Three days later this was the last place I looked for them (as I didn't remember ever taking them off). When I swung by they were being carefully attended to, and right behind the counter waiting for me! Thanks!They are also very helpful regarding pet products :)
