I buy chicken, rabbit and wild bird feed here. Less expensive than anywhere else. They also have many different containers, feeders and any kind of hardware that you can think of. I highly recommend this place. It is directly across from the Topsfield Fairgrounds.

Recently I stopped by to pick up a few bird feeders. I met Mirandawho was very nice and easy to work with. I wanted more BirdFeeders that were on the shelf and Miranda said she could orderthe balance in 2 days... They came in and Miranda called me andalso helped me when I picked them up. Traveling from out of town for an extended time, they had grain that we pre-order ready and waiting. Dylan was very knowledgeable on the hay and heath benefits behind each cut. Store was full of great selection and very clean.

I’ve been a customer and shareholder for over 20 years and I order all my farm supplies from them and they generally do a good job. Last year much of my lawn died because of the drought. I purchased Essex # 2 this year, and after 3 weeks, in spite of regular watering and a cover of straw it has barely germinated. Another area that I planted with some left over Black Beauty seed from last year is growing well. When I called they told me that it was due to the recent heat and to give it another week. Well, it still hasnt germinated. Since I have no way of comparing with others, I’m asking it here: has anyone had any problems with Essex# 2 grass not germinating?

Very bad experience during my visit. I wanted to buy a small amount of loam to repair my lawn. They first sold it to me, then when I went to pick it up, the Bulldozer driver told me that it is illegal for him to put half yard of loam on the side so that I can pick it up. I went back to the store and they told me that it is a liability issue for them as I might hurt myself when putting the loam in bags and loading it into my SUV. This is when people were loading bags of garden soil into their cars. Very strange. Fortunately, there are alternatives nearby: Dawson ACE hardware store at Topsfield center, Tractor Supply Store and Wolf Garden Center at Ipswich further up on Rte 1. They have better selection, better prices and are not as confused as this store.

This is a great go to place for any type of pet. Reminds me of an old fashion mill, feed store, farm supply, home goods, etc. I love to go and just walk the aisles. Goods are well priced and the staff is very friendly. Nice to see that they are going through a major remodel addition. Fun place. Nice to take kids so they can understand all the things that go into tending animals correctly. Love it.

Great place, just wish you would carry cat food and dog food brands like Friskies and fancy feast and Iams as well as your more $$$ stuff I would be willing to buy it there even if it cost a little more than Walmart etc but I have 8 cats and cannotAfford 2 per small can we use 36 cans a week

The ladies at checkout were more then helpful & friendly!Everyone was all smiles...even staff walking past me all acknowledged me with a BIG smile & Hello!Would go back!Never did get my barn door kit, due to style, finish and quoted price from my contractor who sent me there.

So this is a review for the people who drive by this place and think it's just a farm store. Come on in and check this place out.They have much more than agricultural supplies and horse tack.They have a lot of fun stuff. Everything for pets. Candy and treats. Home decorating items. Clothes and boots. All your gardening needs. And much, much more.Really, if you've never been here, you're missing out.

I love this store, not just because it always has everything that I need, but also because the people who work there are so pleasant and helpful! So many great products you would never expect to find, from household to yard and garden, baby gifts and toys,everything for your animals and propane for your grill. The friendliest, most helpful people work there and dogs get treated like royalty. When in the area, stop in and check it out. You will be pleasantly surprised.

I absolutely ~L O V E~ this store. My husband cringes when I go because chances are i’ve spent past my budget. :D Ha ha ha! If you’re a bird lover, their selection of feeders and seed is second to none! For gardening, I can’t blab enough about their seed selection. Top quality distributors and quantities for large scale gardening or small. The staff has always been very helpful & informative & when inquirinb about organic alternatives to whatever you may use, they’re happy to direct you to their best offerings or they’ll look into ordering. If you’re also looking for locally made gifts, they also have a great little selection of candles, soaps, unique little toys for kids.... again, a little of everything (including animal feed, canning, boots, etc!) And contrary to other reviewers, they are not expensive. Their prices are comparable to any quality store that carries the same or similar products and by shopping there you’re supporting a small business, not some uncaring, faceless corporate conglomerate. Shop local. Cheers! (P.S. I’m currently not a shareholder but will be in the future because I strongly support these types of local companies.)

This is such an amazing store! The product selection and custom ordering is great! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and so friendly. They also have a great kids section with books and toys and clothes. A great place to check out even if you dont have animals!

This place is really delightful. Everything you need for your pets and garden. I get my winter rye here every year and as always pleased with the knowledge and friendly service. If you like treats for your dog you have to check out the Icelandic fish skins. Do your dog a factor and treat them!

I love the Essex County Co-Op. I have shopped here for decades. I am a believer in shopping small, local businesses. The Co-Op has always been clean, friendly, accommodating and a pleasure to shop in. The store has much more options than many might think. It has pet and large animal supplies, hardware, kitchen and canning equipment, toys, gardening supplies, clothing and so much more! 😊

Newly renovated, with an entire addition devoted to supplies for dogs and cats, I always find what I am looking for, and many things I didn't know I had to have!The Co-op has a great selection of leashes and collars, and my dog has a better wardrobe than I do.As always, there is a large selection of farm goods, as well.

I've been living on the north shore for 3 years and have tried different feed stores for my horses. The co-op has been my best resource for feed and supplies. Free delivery and the guys who deliver are so nice. I won't go anywhere else.

Great supply of pet stuff. Prices can be a bit high on some items. Good place to get farm supplies and animal feed. Dogs are welcome inside. Overall definitely worth a visit.

Very friendly, helpful, animal friendly, garden supplies, horse, rabbit and chicken feed, and pet food place. Wild bird feeders galore are there as well as supplies, including two brands of squirrel proof hot pepper suet! They also have lovely natural soaps and lotions along with gift-worthy aprons, oven mitts, etc. At Christmas some years there are lovely ornaments for the tree.I always look forward to going there.

This place has a small gift shop. They have all kinds of animal foods (large animal and small animal) brushes and combs, leashes and bedding. They also have everything you need for planting - soils, fertilizers and seeds.

Great selection of products, very clean but overpriced and (while friendly) staff is hard to find/not proactive in helping.Granted it was chick pick-up day which is madness, but I stood at the brooder for 7 minutes with 4 other people waiting for help. One of the two employees at the register just kept staring at us. No question of we needed help, just took a "well, they will come to me" approach. When someone got frustrated and found someone to help us, they helped him first instead of going by whom had been there the longest. Not the end of the world, but a more proactive customer-centric approach would have been appreciated. Will definitely return, just with better managed expectations.
