GROOMING REVIEW: i’ve been a petco & Vital care member for 2 years now.. I am a HUGE FAN of petco.. but this GROOMING SERVICE IN TAUNTON PETCO, was absolutely HORRIFYING!! my fur baby was new to this location, because we usually go to Avon petco. I feel like if your new and the stylist isn’t familiar with your fur baby then they do things on THEIR terms. if you are new and have VICTORIA as a stylist PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR FUR BABY. i made it very clear to her that i DO NOT want her to cut the hair on my dogs tale. At that point she did not inform me of the “policy for matted hair”. She told me “ok”. when i picked up my baby after 4hrs, his tail was completely BOLD, a rat tail. i asked her “why did you ignore my request”. her response was “per the cutting policy if the hair is matted we can not cut”. i assured her that if she would’ve called me I would’ve canceled the appointment and picked up my baby. I felt like crying. my baby (a 2yr old morkie) is soo upset. He loved chasing his long flowing tale.. his face was cut UNEVEN. one side is longer than the other . I felt completely ignored & disregarded as a pet parent. The fact that she didn’t even apologize, rolled her eyes at me and it seemed like she blatantly didn’t care, maybe me feel helpless. I will NEVER AGAIN get grooming services at this LOCATION. The manager was very supportive. She calmed me and made me feel at ease.I will get all other services EXPECT FOR GROOMING, at the Taunton Petco location.

I hope you don't have the same experiences I've had here...The unwelcoming atmosphere and lack of help from the staff reminded me why it had been 6 years since I'd last visited this location.Retail Floor: They do sell and had in-stock items I'd been looking to purchase. I tried asking staff for help locating items and was led in the wrong direction deeper into the store than required only to then be pushed out of the store by the same staff without allowing me the time to make the purchases I had hoped to make.Result: Profits for a competing chain regularly.Grooming Salon: I used to regularly visit this Petco grooming salon location for almost 10 years, but haven't in almost 10 years. Not because my dog isn't eligible to receive services offered by this Petco location according to their policies.Result: I've been driving my dog out of town for the same services... I don't do it for the price(s) or convenience...

I have to say the employee's here are great and for everyday dog or cat food thumbs up but not the greatest for exotics, many times bird food is low or sold out. Crickets can be hot or miss also.

Bought a beta on Monday after one died. It lived less than 12hrs. Took my distraught daughter there twice today, one for a water check after the 2nd fish died. Bought a heater, thermometer, new food and 3 goo fish and they died 20 min later. My daughter had to flush them down the toilet. Called customer service and they wanted THE DEAD FISH as proof for a refund, no empathy that my daughter lost 4 fish in 24 hrs time when she is only10 and her first pets. I did everything they suggested for tank to be right.When we were looking for fish, we went to the beta section and one large fish in a teeny Tupperware container was dead and the water was brown, an associate said “oh, I’ll take care of that later” no wondr our fish lasted less than a day. They don’t care for these helpless fish. Will NOT ever shop there again after spending 200+ in two days. Customer service SUCKS

The staff are very nice and Friendly.The problem is the care of The animals and reptiles.And their enclosures and tanks and cages. I visit this place at least twice a week. And I have said something repeatedly. A lot of the animals are very dirty and look sickly.This is very sad. Next time I will definitely take photos and post them.

A brazilian flat-earther YouTuber living in Taunton (I'm not kidding) bought laboratory mice and tortured them by suffocating them in a low-pressure chamber. There was no purpose in this, it wasn't to feed any other animals, it was just a sadistic "flat-earther experiment". He published the video on YT where he displays his store's brand, I would like to know if this is legal in your region. Thank you for your attention.

This store is always clean and there is always someone there to help you get feeder fish or other things in the back of the store. The only thing that is sometimes a bother is that there is usually only one register open so you may have to wait in a line sometimes. The people there are always very friendly and helpful and they remember you so I guess maybe it's worth the wait 😋!

My English Cream Retriever, Remi had her first EVER grooming today by Victoria. Remi was a little nervous and apprehensive about going in but the groomer greeted us at the door and was so calming. She received the perfect Golden Retriever cut, and was wagging her tail with excitement when I picked her up. What an incredible experience! Highly recommend booking your dogs next grooming with Victoria.

Customer service is trash at this place. I had a bigger woman with glasses and a ponytail talk to me as if i was a child. She gave me attitude when i said i wanted to look at the hamsters. I asked if i could hold one to see if i could know their temperament i wasn’t sure if it was this one or the other i wanted. She rudely told me this wasn’t a petting zoo and walked away. This was only one instance the disrespectful way employees handle their customers. I most certainly will not be going back. I walked right out after that disgraceful interaction.

Petco is my go to for kitty litter, treats and toys. My monthly visit was good. I found Dr. Elsey (I think that's the name) brand clumping litter on sale and it works great.

I have gotten 4 betta fish over the course of 2 weeks that have all died. I got told the tank was too small so I got one of theirs. Got some decoration, they told me using bottled water has chlorine (um) I had betta fish many times in the past. I just dumped out my last betta and will not go back there for anything. While looking at the bettas some did not have very clean containers. Pissed consumer

Grooming with Chelsea is amazing. Not only does she love my toy poodle Austin but she cares about the work she does. She listens when you have specific requests and keeps you informed on what would look best for your fur-baby. We will always recommend grooming with her. 10/10.

Bought 6 guppies here on Thursday, and while I had my trepidations about them, because there was 1 dead fish in the tank, I bought them anyway, because they seemed lively, and fish can die of natural causes. My tank at home is a 10.5 gallon, very clean, with the ideal temp/pH, filtered, aerated, that has always supported healthy fish. By Sunday, all 6 of my new guppies are dead. Before each of them died, they were floating vertically (swim bladder issue, common with many diseases like fin and tail rot). I was going to make this a one star review, but the two staff members were helpful and nice. It's not like diseased fish are their fault.

This petco has cancelled on me twice now for a grooming appointment that I booked weeks in advance. Both times with the same excuse and within 24 hours of the appointment. They said they would call me to reschedule and never did. Don’t waste your time, they will just cancel on you!

Got what you need . Mostly short staffed or always looking for someone. Went in today asked for help and so did another customer. We both waited. After gping up front and saw employee just standing there and yes not working the register. I ended up walking out. ✌️ last petco experience

Not a bad store. I mean it's Petco. Super expensive, but do almost always have what your looking for. Some of the workers are super sweet and are there to help you no matter what it is your looking for or interested in. While others mainly the girls in the back who think they are professional animal people, and will talk to you like your dumb. Other then that not a bad petco

The absolute worst experience here. Bought special canned food and treats for my dog because he wasn’t feeling well and refusing his regular food. He passed away a few days later. Treats were expired when I bought them (I was very sad and worried that night - not paying attention to the expiration dates) and I never opened the can of food. Just tried to return both and had to plead my case. Not one employee had a kind word to say and they would only give me a store credit. I no longer have a dog. Why would I need a store credit. Never buying from here again. I’m not even sure these people like animals.
