Only discovered the store today and I was pleasantly surprised. Lots of product depth. I was planning a quick in and out but all the choices had me stopping and reading to make a decision. Friendly staff inquired if I needed any assistance. It's good to patronize a local small business.

I try to support small business's as i own one but definitely wont be supporting these people.I went down to pick up a 12 foot 6x6. I asked them to cut it down to two 6x6x6 their policy is all wood is to be purchased then cut. The long haired kid refused to cut down the 6x6 because it "wont go through the saw" lol so whatever i drove back up to my house picked up my saw, then he proceeded to say, you cant cut the 6x6 here. Then watched me load it by myself. I guess thats why people go to home depot. Their prices are absolutely insane even compared to another hardware store. Such a shame this place has gone down hill

I love supporting small businesses but the customer service here has been rough to say the least. The only way you can really compete with big box stores nowadays is with great customer service and they lack it

I would give them 4 1/2 stars if I could. When I moved to the year several years ago it took me a little while to discover them. As I got used to them I started to go there more often. Now it's usually the first place I go unless I'm pretty sure they don't have what I want. The people are mostly very knowledgeable, and are more consistently knowledgeable than the big box stores. I am often surprised that they offer things I didn't know they had. Sure they cost a bit more, but they are local, convenient and I get what I need while supporting them.

I live in town and this store is super convenient and has everything I need as a homeowner!Just wish the staff was a little more friendly and helpful!

Their prices are high - even for a hardware store. But I'm willing to pay for convenience - until now. I ran in for a part for a plumbing project and on the way in, I was asked to contribute to a fundraiser, I gave my last $7 to the fundraiser. When I got to the register with the overpriced PVC elbow ($4 at IBS for same part Home Depot has for $2.50), I was told "sorry we have a $10 minimum)'. Really!? Home Depot is less expensive and has better service. For now on, I'll drive the extra 10 minutes to HD. Ridiculous.

Prices here are way too overpriced! I can understand if they were the last place customers can go to. So I’d rather drive 10 minutes more to The Home Depot for a much lesser price even though most employees have very little knowledge of products they sell.

Called about getting a electrical part was informed I have to go to west springfield.... walked in and found the part they have no idea what they are doing get people in here that know what to do and how to help customers. And lastly the rudest lady I have ever met in my life

Completely rude to my elderly mother who simply asked for a little assistance. I've read similar reviews here where folks are complaining of bad customer service and treatment. I didn't want to believe it but after the disgraceful treatment of my mother there, it's obvious that they have a problem. My business will go elsewhere.

Great people, great store, really lousy opening time! Builders, painters, etc start early, and the stores that recognize that are open early! 830??? I needed screws recently, and we started at 7 - not unusual for a lot of contractors - had to wait til 830 to get them. That doesn't make sense to me. Open earlier for us worker bees, please, and I'll rate you a 5, no problem!

The Asian woman at the front is very rude and the store is way over priced. I have no problem going 10 minutes further to Home Depot. At least they are reasonably priced and nice. Never will go here again.

Absolutely AWFUL! My mother who is 72 years old purchased a paint roller attachment, got home and couldn't figure out how to lock the foam piece into it. She went back and asked JUDY (worst customer service rep) if she could show her how to use it. JUDY proceeded to tell my mother that she did not purchase the attachment at IBS (my mother had her receipt and was there a half hour prior to this interaction) and eluded that she was trying to return something she did not purchase at IBS. My sweet, innocent mother was so upset she asked to speak with the manager. The manager never apologized. She was never given an ounce of respect. They replaced the attachment, but never showed her how to use it. This is the way they treat kind senior citizens! Ridiculous! Southwick can do better than this garbage!

The usual grumpy suspects at the lumber counter and a few of the cashiers aren't wearing masks, or they're wearing a chin diaper. Most of the younger cashiers are properly wearing their masks, but I've yet to see anyone behind the lumber counter even attempting to wear a mask on several trips. That's the end of my shopping there, as it's not safe.

Walked in and the girl at the register said “closing in 5 minutes”. As I was looking for a fitting, another employee came up to me and said the same thing. When I asked about the fitting, he said I have to go to a Supply House! (They both must have had a date or something)Not only are they expensive, they think they are the only game in town. Bye Bye IBS.

Great for those hard to find items, some same price or even less than HD special order. Every day items tend to be a bit more $. Staff was super informative and saved me a lot problems down the line.. will be back again!

Not the biggest selection ever but they have alot and everyone is helpful, just ask. Convenient for quick stop in town grab at your local hardware. Don't forget to cool in-store cat mascot.

IMO. you're far better off going just up the street to Tractor Supply.I for some reason went there today thinking I was going to save time by going there because its 1 minute closer than T.S. but in reallity IBS. didn't have what I was looking for and had to go to Tractor Supply to find the item I needed anyhow!!IBS. doesn't even come close to T.S. ontheir inventory or their pricing!!!For me at least I'm going to drive right by IBS. and do my shopping at Tractor Supply only!!!

Super high prices. Cedar clapboards are $3 /ft. I had to complete the repair on a Saturday so I paid 50 bucks for 16ft. I believe this place preys on guys like me.

They always have what you're looking for. Buy lumber and drive through, they load you. You don't have to lug a dolly around and drag your order through a store.

Their plumbing, lighting and gardening sections frequently have items that are seldom in stock at big box hardware stores. These guys are my first stop on any home improvement project.

They have a very wide selection of building materials, as well as other miscellaneous products. Warehouse staff on hand to load bulky and heavy products for you as well. Overall, decent customer service.
