I can't believe I've never left a review before... These guys are amazing, I've been bringing all my reptiles here (I have A LOT) as needed for multiple yrs now.Dr. Mertz and Dr. Ganaway are the most amazing and knowledgeable people, and I trust them w all my animals lives.

Dr. Fournier really knows what she’s talking about when it comes to reptiles, which is very reassuring, as many vets are not well-versed in these types of animals so it’s always nerve-wracking finding a vet that you trust to know enough to treat them appropriately. I’d definitely recommend her! She’s knowledgeable, personable, and as you can see from the picture of the vet giving my lizard cuddles during her visit, my beloved tegu is a huge fan too! Not to mention, they do not nickel and dime people and are not looking for problems to treat just to get more money, which is always nice. I was genuinely expecting to spend at least $300-$400 to fix the problem my lizard had, and it ended up being less than 100 because was not as sick as I thought she was. Thank goodness! She could’ve easily convinced me to pay hundreds of dollars because I would genuinely do ANYTHING for this lizard, but I’m glad she was honest instead.

Dr mertz is great. I've been bringing a variety of animals to him over the last 10+ years. And prices are amazing for the services. I need to call them soon actually to make an appointment for my tortoises to get their nails and beaks trimmed! I've brought chickens here as well.They do take wildlife for rehab. Call first and make sure you go to the correct door for wildlife. It's not the same as the regular vet section.You can also take a tour of the facility. I think it's like 5 for self guided and 10 for a guided one. I always learn something when I'm there

Staff are all so incredibly nice! Very relaxed atmosphere and it’s amazing to see all the animals. Recommend highly. Front desk staff and vets couldn’t have been nicer. My African Grey parrot was treated with patience and kindness. Very reasonable prices too. I am thrilled to have found this place, looking forward to our next appointment. Wish all animal vets were as relaxed, patient and cost affordable. Thank you so very much.

I brought my baby bearded dragon here for his first wellness check. I couldn’t have been more impressed, the staff is extremely knowledgeable, kind and helpful.The facility is really cool well worth the 2 1/2 hour drive

Dr. Mertz and Ganaway were both fabulous! My bunny was neutered and they were so quick, attentive and caring. He is home and recovering now.

This place has the best exotic pet veterinarian. Dr. Zabetakis is so friendly and she takes the time to address every concern. You never feel rushed out with unanswered questions. I have two guinea pigs she sees. Just amazing!

This place is A+ Awesome I found a huge wild turtle being dragged by small Coyotes on the train tracks I had no place to get help until I called them. They took Rosie the Turtle and made her better.I was happy to Donate $50 that day and more anonymously later on that year.Now I have two Guinea Pigs someone left out in the rain storm in a box next to the river at Braintree Village (imagine- these adults are raising kids) and have to take them there cuz their nails are curled up and I’m scared I’ll hurt them.#BeK9Nd

We had brought our three guinea pigs here four times for well visits. We loved it. Last visit we had been told our 2.5 yo female had ovarian cysts. We dropped her off and they said they would call when she went into surgery. Hours passed. They never answer their phone. Over 90% of the time it goes to voicemail. They barely apologized for not calling like they said they would. The receptionist gave us all the meds and after care instructions and had to leave the desk three separate times to find out the answers to our questions because she’s not a medical professional. Why not have the vet just come and answer us? They said surgery went well. She ate that night and pooped and was cleaning herself. The next day we had to rush her to MSPCA ER, she was lethargic and wouldn’t eat. She died at 9pm, a mere 30 hours after surgery. The head vet said that the vet Jean Fournier was real torn up about it and that she wouldn’t be emailing us back. WE and her two sister guinea pigs are the ones torn up about it. Apparently the MSPCA said that there was a gas pocket under her skin and she died of GI perforation, which was avoidable for such a young healthy guinea pig. No apologies from her vet and honestly it’s the saddest thing that they said she wouldn’t be getting back to us because she was real torn up about it. Then maybe she should consider another profession because that is not okay and it is bordering inhumane when you are in charge of the care of little animals’ lives. They think giving us a partial refund will satisfy us and basically shut us down

Went to Odd Pet Vet with my class from massasoit for my veterinary assistant certification. I can not be any more impressed with the whole facility! Its beautiful and fun for all ages! Birthday parties, field trips you name it they'll do the best they can to give you your best experience with reptiles and other cool "pets"

The kindness and knowledge of the vets here is incredible. We've been taking our guinea pigs here for years and we are always blown away by the quality of the care provided. The pricing is also very good- being able to bring multiple animals of the same species in for only nominally more than a single pet is a huge savings.The staff clearly love their pets and the animals that live on site. Make sure to visit the red tail hawk and the goats (who love head scratches).

Great vet! Reasonable pricing and friendly staff.I've brought my pet rats to them for years and have never had an issue. They are very knowledgeable about rodents, which is a huge plus. They also perform surgery for reasonable prices! A lot of vets are super expensive, but the prices here seem fair and reasonable.I have also boarded my rats with them and felt that the rats were treated well. They sent pictures and kept me up to date with them.

Wow, very impressed. I brought my ferret, Bon, in for an exam and his yearly rabies booster expecting to pay a couple hundred. Exotics are always expensive.Only paid $108! Super fairly priced. The building is so cool, with different exotics and birds you can look at while waiting. The Doctor herself came out to greet me and bring me back to the room. Dr. Jean was awesome and definitely cares about exotics. There were some CVTs observing too who were very nice and interested. They all listened to my concerns, stayed with Bon for the whole waiting period to monitor for a reaction (including the Doctor!) and everyone was so nice to my boy.So glad this place exists and is so close! I’ll be back.

I’m so happy with the care I received at the Odd Pet Vet! My Guinea pig was having some congestion and so I made an appointment with them. The front desk lady was very nice and so welcoming. The vet and the students all were eager and happy to help. Even the other pet owners were awesome. Overall great care and I would recommend over and over again!

Visited on a field trip. Wonderful place with wonderful volunteers who love each and every animal that comes in the door. Great nature trail. You can visit any time. Good place for kiddos to learn about the real mother nature. 👍

Educational and free place to visit. Visitors can walk through and view the animal treatment rooms. There are lots of reptiles on display as well. Upstairs is a small children's museum for hands-on learning about nature.

Awesome pet hospital. Went in with my boa hisstopher for a check-up and Dr. Mertz was very good with her. The work they do with wildlife rehab here is great as well. It is fairly inexpensive considering this is an exotic pet vet.

Best pet possible for exotics. They care about the animals and don't kill you on pricing. I've been there twice for a leopard gecko and havnt had a single issue

Dr Mertz and the entire staff each exotic pet as it it was there own. Our pet goes for wellness checkups and on rare occasions to provide direction if we see any potential health issues. They are fully capable of addressing any situation that arises.

It is not easy to find an exotic vet in general. Nevermind find such a compassionate, capable, honest team. I have been bringing our pets here for almost 2 years now. Yes it is hard to get an appointment fairly quickly. Keep in mind, that there are not many exotics around, and the also have a whole wildlife center in there as well. The staff is so comforting and helpful.

We were very pleased with our entire experience at New England Wildlife Center. Our Pionus was treated here with superb results. Everyone we encountered was kind and pleasant but it was also clear that the veteriarian's knowlege and expertise was as good as it gets. I can't recommend highly enough.

I’m really not happy with this place, my first experience with my crested was great with one vet there, how ever I brought my leopard gecko here to see dr Fournier she prescribed anti biotic and was supposed to send me a confirmation for another appointment and they NEVER confirmed it but made sure they called me to tell me they were going to charge me 35 for missing an appointment they never confirmed. I live an hour and 40 minutes away from here and for the issue my Leo had she was supposed to receive 14/21 days of medication and didn’t. she has passed away I am disgusted and will be taking all of my reptiles and pets to another exotic.

These people are awesome! My aquatic turtle has a facial abscess which is being treated by Dr. Fournier. She gave 'Flippy' a thorough examination and recommended a diet change as a solution. Flippy loves the new food and his energy level is definitely better. The receptionist, Olivia, was friendly and helpful.
