I love this store. The staff is always helpful and pleasant. Today I ran in to pick up a few things. Andrew was my cashier. He wasn't the least bit attentive. When cashing me out he assumed I wanted a printed receipt and hit the botton for me . He didn't ask what I preferred. I explained I would have preferred a printed receipt to which he fixed it again hitting the bottom for me. I guess he assumed I was unable to do that task myself. He bagged a few of my items and left the two large bird feeders and a clay plant pot on the counter which I'm assuming he assumed I was ok with them not being put in bags. I ask if he had a.large bag for the feeders and if he would put the planter in a bag as well. He bagged the feeders and looked at me as if I should be all set. I asked again if he would bag the planter and his answer was " I guessed I missed that." Well maybe idlf Andrew wasn't so busy talking about his schedule and when he would take lunch he would have heard me. The other associate was busy stocking and gave him the brush off when he asked her about his lunch. I cant imagine having to deal with him everyday. Customer service is not his specialty.

The store is a little blah inside. Dark corners. I hate dark corners.The thing is, staff is very helpful. Also, quite cheerful.The store offers decent prices on the majority of their items, and this includes well-known brands and off brand items.For the average American struggling to make ends meet, stores like this are a blessing.

I’m giving a 4 star because job lot has always been great for me with great deals. However I ordered stuff online and today is day 14 and the store nor the 1800 number has any update or answers other than it’s processing still. It perplexes me that there are no details. I ordered these umbrellas on crazy deal 2 weeks ago to have them for the 4th..disappointed in this one. Job lot help me understand how no one knows where it’s at.

They usually have some interesting items and good deals if you know what to look for. We generally have decent to good experiences with the employees, but the last time we were there one of the cashiers was openly arguing with a customer and giving an attitude to a long line of customers. It really seemed like they were just in an awful mood, which we've all been there, but someone should've pulled them off the floor to let them cool down. Instead, they continued to instigate an argument with a customer who actually kept his cool better than most people these days usually do. I can shop online without being berated about forming a line incorrectly or not being able to take a cart outside after a purchase. In my opinion, and also after seeing some other similar reviews, if they're that frustrated at work maybe it's because the company isn't very good to their employees.

I love me some Ocean State Job lot. This is My Little getaway, my little bit of self care. I go into the store and walk around for 2 hours with my headphones blasting my music and explore every crevice of this store. My favorite time is around Christmas when I can really buy for people who I love in my life. The staff are always friendly and they have the best deals.

If you're a hold-out, and still think OSJL is just another place where stuff you don't want goes to die, listen up. We are living proof that nothing could be further from the truth. You've got to check out "Crazy Deals"... items that come with store credits often equal to, or near, the selling price. These credits pay for the non crazy deal items that are the staples you're going to buy somewhere anyway! So, it's like getting free stuff that IMHO meet or exceed the quality of the box stores nearby. It's Crazy!

Good stuff, cheap, to steal the old Building 19 slogan. Items run from food of multiple cuisines to housewares to gardening items to clothing and everything in between. I never know what I'll find there. But quality ranges from poor to very good, so you need to look carefully at what you are buying.

I bought some great things from Job Lot I didn't know that they actually have heating pads they have heaters electric blankets they have everything pots and pans clothes food wonderful place to go to and the prices are cheap A1 100% quality service y'all go get it

Having just adopted our first dog, we needed everything for it. By buying several of the items at Ocean State Job Lot, I was able to save on the basic supplies (crate, puppy pads, etc.) and have enough left over to let my daughter splurge on the cute collar and leash that she wanted from one of the big pet store chains.Beyond decent prices, the company has continued a commitment through the years to give back to the community. An example is the coat donations they've done a few times where if you buy a coat from them they donate a coat to an organization that distributed them to people in need. They also made fabric available for free in their stores during the start of the pandemic so anyone could make a face mask that wanted one but couldn't afford or find one.Even though I don't go here all the time, it's a store I'd genuinely miss having around if it were to close.

The employees at the Somerset store are fantastic! I go there quite often and they are always friendly and helpful, I can't say enough good things about the staff and management of this location. Store is always clean and well stocked!

One of the best Ocean State JOB Lots around. Normally, when you go into another ocean state job lot It is messy. This one is always clean. Would recommend it!

I purchased a heavy (100#) A/C unit. A friendly clerk brought it to the checkout area and helped get in my car. I'm a small woman so it was greatly appreciated. The ladies at checkout were also very friendly. Good experience all around.

Had a great experience here! They have an excellent selection of inflatable pool floaties and we grabbed an awesome high velocity fan to cool our house. The team is very friendly and helpful everytime we visit. The store is always clean, and organized. The outdoor stuff they get is really cool, but like a lot of this type of discount store, something here today could be gone tomorrow. Always a fun treasure hunt!Willette's Optical Paradise Approved 👍

Good deals but checking out was painfully s..l...o...w! There wasn't even a line of people to wait for. No mistakes made but slow...slower than molasses moving up hill in the wintertime. s...l....o.....w just to ring up a couple of items and pay 4 them. No one was around for almost 10 minutes! It took me 7-8 minutes to find an employee!! The prices are good (obviously) but the cleanliness & neatness did not leave much to be desired.

Products were great but the staff at the Somerset store are rude. I went there with a group of friends we shopped for an hour or two the whole time we were followed by 2 employees. When we checked out the stood there and watched us ring up 3 carriages of stuff totaling around $500. I mean if I were going to steal why shop for 2 hours and spend hundreds of dollars. I certainly won't go back I don't need to feel uncomfortable while I spend my money in your store hire some employees with brains please!

I always enjoy going to Job lot they have such a great variety of stuff for my house and clothes . the staff there seems genuinely interested in their jobs and they're always helpful. The quality of the products there is very good.

One of my favorite store chains. The prices simply can't be beat, as long as they have what you're looking for. They can easily beat Walmart prices for similar items.
