Looked around for at least 20 minutes and left with nothing simply because the staff was trying to upsell..I found Petsmart employees much more friendly, they asked less questions and gave information to the point.

When did Petco upgrade their stores?? Petsmart is right down the road from me, yet I'll drive the extra 10 miles. The variety of higher end pet food alone is well worth the drive

This Petco is spacious and has almost everything for your pet needs. There is a wide range of brands and items to choose from in each category. The employees there are very helpful and know their stuff. Went there for an exchange last week and it was very seamless and easy!

I had for assistance and waited for about 5 minutes then the prescription dog food bag was dusty like it was in the back room for months. The app said the product was not in stock and store personnel stated the app has inventory problems. Very disappointing

Although the staff was VERY nice - I noticed there was 4 dead beta fish all on the same shelf. One of them looked like it been sitting there for a WHILE. The water had even changed to a yellow/brown color.. probably due to the decay. It’s not the first time I come across something like this at this location. Months prior my bf and I found a baby chameleon outside of its enclosure. KNOWING these reptiles are sensitive to environmental changes, this is a huge no no. Coming from someone who’s had multiple pets this was not okay and a huge disappointment.

The worst service we ever had in a Pet store! My daughter had asked someone If we could get help in the animal department while they announced it in the intercom the employee came around us didn't even ask if we were the ones who needed help she was on the phone having a conversation while working meanwhile we were still waiting for help. We seen that she worked there so actually wanting help I asked her if we can have someone help us she get's off the phone and says oh it's you guy's who need help she has a drink in her hand and the phone actually gets off the phone and tells me she needs to bring her drink to the back and do something else and that she would be right with us so about 30 minutes waiting time she comes to help. Then my daughter want's a guinea pig she starts telling us very little knowledge about a guinea pig my other daughter says we have a male so she quick turns off the light's to the animals and walks away without a word then i ask whats the problem she says oh we cant sell you a guinea pig. So mind you she doesn't even ask us if he's neutered but refuses the sale she just starts walking away without a saying anything else very unprofessional. So I ask to speak to the manager she points at a direction that the manager is in (front registers) so the manager has a little more knowledge then the employee and speaks to me and tells us some good information about female n male guinea pigs ok great! But then she said guinea pigs can't be kept together unless they get use to each other of course (i believe alot of ppl know that) and that even though there are not in the same habitat a male knowing that there is a female caged around them that female's could get pregnant WRONG!! WHY? If thats the case why are they guinea pigs housed (caged) right next to each other?? So they actually refused to sell us a animal with very little education about a animal because we do have a female and a male and they are caged right next to each other and she hasn't had any baby's ever. So could it be that the employee is prejudice? All we wanted was a female to accompany our female so therfore and reading the reviews looks like it is not the first time it has happend! Will actually tell everyone I know that are pet owners or want to be not to ever go there. And those are our pigs in the pictures caged right next to each other.

The guy that checked us out was wonderful. He noticed we were buying kitten stuff and asked if we had a new kitten. Then he told us about Petco and all their services.

I shop here quite frequently. First for my cats and now for my ferrets. Lately I've been shopping online and picking up at my local store which works for me because other shopping venues can take a while to receive in the mail. The people who work there are quite polite and helpful.

Yes, a lot of their stuff is overpriced but I love the groomers here. 30 bucks for full service is a great deal and my dog always leaves with some sort of cute headgear the groomers give her (look at that adorable scarf). They also have weekend clinics which is convenient for quick things like updating vaccinations.

I love Petco in Shrewsbury, I bring my kittens Kylo and Reya with me and they are completely welcomed by the staff there. They all know them and are very informative when I have questions in regards to them.

We won't take our dog anywhere else for grooming appointments! They have the absolute kindest, sweetest team. Our dog is very nervous and timid but they're always so patient and understanding with him. I can't say enough good things!

The aisles were blocked with unpacked merchandise, the cashier was unfriendly (a hello would be nice), and the 10 cent charge for a paper bag seems over the top. Pet smart is a much pleasanter shopping experience and I am planning to take my business there.

I have 2 shih Tzu's that get groomed here. Their names are Addie and Messa. The groomers do a phenomenal job on them. I like the work that gets done here.

Was intimated and threatened by an employee named Cory at this location. Called multiple slurs including the N word…. Long beard, wears a hat and lots of tattoos, to my surprise today I see that this employee still works here. I was contacted by lower management after formally submitting a complaint about this issue and yet all I was given was a lack luster apology from the assistant manager… the actual store manager never bothered to contact me about this. To call a paying customer the N word and threaten to physically assault them is far from professional and violates multiple HR policies. I wouldn’t think that Petco supports or tolerates any kind of racism but that’s clearly not the case with this location. It’s a shame because I insure all of my pets through Petco, vaccines, toys, food, supplies ex.. through this location, and yet this kind of treatment is just brushed under the carpet. I hope losing thousands of dollars of business a year that I give you is worth the short tempered child of an employee you chose to keep working here. That’s the last time I’ll ever do business with this company again.

It was like taking your pet to a spa, she got her nails trimmed and we were also able to give her a bath as well. They give you a basket with clean towels, shampoo, and conditioner, no more mess at home. And they also have a blowdryer after the bath. We'll be back! 😉

This is only a review for VETCO. This is the second week in a row where they don’t have the influenza vaccine. It helps if you put a banner up on your website or write a sign and put on the door it would help us to make different choices. Also the ability to put the vaccines needed when booking the appointment would inform the techs and allow them to get ahold of us or save vaccines etc. unfortunately your website doesn’t off this, there was no signage and 2 weeks in a row we have wasted a trip. I’d really like to understand how you will make this better as we cannot be the onlyPeople.

I decided to choose Petco for my dog and cat’s overall needs. From food, to grooming, to veterinary care.The staff in the store are always friendly and helpful.The groomer, Deann, is great.The problem is the vet clinic. I couldn’t get an appt to have my dog spayed because there aren’t any vets. She also needed two baby teeth extracted and I wanted her microchipped. I waited months and then opted to bring her to the Worcester Animal Rescue spay and neuter clinic.I understand there is a shortage of vets and it’s challenging for the company however this is also a challenge for pet owners.Additionally, customer service could not help me with the app so I could add Zoey’s spay date and her microchip number.Plus the app is not easy to navigate and does not allow you to limit notifications about food or toys! The app needs improvement.

Staff never wants to help customers, they are short tempered and no one seems to be on the same page about how things work. I have had to find my own products when asking for help locating things because no one wanted to walk us to the right area and help us. Between the grooming staff and the store staff, there's no quality customer service from what we have experienced, now multiple times. Vetco is AMAZING. unfortunately they're located in this location otherwise we wouldn't return.

Don't believe all the negative reviews from disgruntled customers who can't get their way shopping at this location in Schewsbury. Team member Cory recognizes me as a repeat Petco customer and always greets and thanks me everytime. Truth!
